La Bella was a clear match for me because of their compassionate and educated approach to pregnancy and delivery. Chelsea has such a warm nurturing energy, and she also has the wisdom and courage to be there for you during the often strenuous path of labor. She provided friendship and advice during labor and was easy to communicate with. I have no doubt she gives her all for her clients. I highly recommend La Bella Birth and Baby.
Chelsea was an AMAZING doula for my VBAC attempt. She was there for me through the whole pregnancy to answer every question, helped me and my husband learn exercises and techniques for labor (and researched new techniques for us too!), fought for my rights at the hospital, and she was present for basically my entire labor and delivery--where she enlisted the support as well of another doula on her team, Susanna (who is equal to Chelsea in all these traits!), to be there for extra support. I firmly believe my doula was much more helpful to me than my doctor over the course of my pregnancy and birth journey. Even after the birth, Chelsea has been there for us to help find reputable providers for our new baby.
Chelsea's presence is so calming; her voice and demeanor make you feel confident and secure. She will do everything to make your birth experience both empowering and supported. La Bella Birth is the way to go to find amazing doula care for your pregnancy. I am ever so thankful to have worked with them.
I could literally write an entire BOOK on how amazing my experience was with La Bella Birth and Baby. From the child birth classes, to the prenatal meetings, to the unconditional talk/text support 24/7, to birth support, and postpartum support: they never once failed to exceed my expectations, wants, or needs. Chelsea and Susanna went above and beyond for me when I was pregnant and when I had a very unsupportive, discriminatory, and pushy OB provider. Listened to me vent, cry, and educated me when my partner and I needed it the most. They took me on as a client later into my pregnancy knowing my due date was 2 days away from there very huge expo without hesitation. Susanna also worked so hard to be there for my partner and I despite being in college full time and having so much to juggle. If it weren't for La Bella Birth and Baby I can whole heartedly say that without them being involved in my life: without there constant support, empowerment, and education I would not have had the birth of my dreams. I would have continued being the niave first time mom I was who allowed my OB provider to push me into unnecessary interventions. I can also almost guarentee without them helping me to be educated and empowered I would of stayed on path to an unnecessary c section. But instead they educated me on all my provider and birth options and helped me plan my birth, my dream birth. And when the day came they were the most incredible support team for my partner and I when I vaginally delivered my healthy precious baby boy at home. They were literally the BEST MONEY my partner and I have ever spent. Any prospective mommas, mommas to be, or current mommas you need La Bella Birth and Baby involved in your prenatal, birth, and postpartum care, it will be the best decision you make. I will forever be thankful and grateful for Chelsea and Susanna. They are two of the most kind, caring, compassionate, genuine women I have ever met.
My husband and I were at first on the fence about a doula. Being a first time mom I had no clue what labor or delivery would be like. I knew I wanted to do a non medicated natural waterbirth and my husband was fully ready to help me get through it. As the months got closer to the due date, we realized we would have such a peace if we had a trained person, knowing what to expect, and knowing how to help. Luckily I had met Chelsea out shopping a couple months earlier and she was so so so sweet and friendly and the type of person youd love to go to coffee with, I knew I wanted to hire her just based off her amazing personality. We then decided one and a half months out from the due date to hire her, and that was THE BEST DECISION! Not just because she helped me stay more calm and relaxed through each contraction during labor, but the days leading up to it she was there 24/7 for my constant questions. She is thoroughly knowledgable and knew exactly how to encourage. My son was almost a week late, and I started getting very discouraged, but she texted me everyday words of encouragment. I FELT SO SO SO SUPPORTED! My husband was grateful for the support in the delivery room too, they could tag team counter pressure and holding my hand. One would remind me to breath the other would remind me to drink.
This was the greatest experiences of my life and having a doula on your side just makes everything that much better. If you are on the fence at all, trust me, you will thank yourself for hiring Chelsea.
I've had a great experience with La Bella Birth and Baby. I attended their Comfort Measures During Labor and their Childbirth Education classes. Both were extensive and very informative. They were very accomodating to some scheduling difficulties that I had and I'm very happy with my overall experience.
I worked with Chelasea and she was wonderful. She has encapsulated my placenta, was very professional and personable at the same time. Also she did elbelly bonding after I gave birth it helped me greatly with recovery. I recommend all new moms to encapsulate their placenta and do belly binding. Chelsea was so sweet and gave us so much useful information. You will not regret using her services.
We got fantastic support of La Bella Birth and Baby!
We got in contact with them in 38+ weeks after understanding that the OB/GYN did not support the natural childbirth that I wanted. I was really anxious but after meeting with their doula Susanna I felt calm and positive again. She gave me amazing emotional support as well as explaining my rights and possibilities when it comes to healthcare.
Well in labor she actively supported me and my husband. She gave me the massage I needed and suggested new positions throughout the process. As well as encouraging me and collaborating with my husband. I can really recommend La Bella Birth and Baby!
Chelsea and Susanna were wonderful with our last birth a HBAC. They were both there for me working in sync and knowing what I needed without me saying. They gave me cool wash cloths with peppermint for my nausea, gave me drink, gave counter pressure, stoked my hair and held my hand, and just were over all saints. They there to hold my hand when I broke my water, gave me peppermint to smell to keep my nausea at bay, and calm my fears when things went a little off what we were expecting. I would reccomend them again and again. Worth everything I paid and more.
I hired Chelsea for the birth of our second child right at the beginning of my pregnancy. I had a very traumatic experience with my 1st born that ended in an emergency c section. Since that day I had been researching knowing that I needed a healing experience with our next birth and was willing to do whatever to make that happen. I had found that a doula was a huge help in any and every birth experience, up until then I had never even heard of a doula before and it was bazaar to me that they are not used in every single birth!! After our 1st meeting I just knew she was the perfect match for me!! We had a lot of things in common and I immediately felt at ease with her! Throughout my pregnancy she was always there with any questions I had, and had several amazing resources right at her fingertips for most anything I needed. She would check in with me and see how things were going and always sent positive vibes and encouragement my way. Getting closer to my due date we were even more in contact and she would check in after my appointments to see how things were progressing and was ready for that call at any time! I had a long labor over the weekend before his birth that Monday. Chelsea met me at the birth center on Saturday and spent the entire evening with me helping me with my breathing, putting pressure on my back with each contraction, playing my favorite music, making sure I was drinking my water, bringing me cool wet cloths, helping my husband I could go on and on! The next morning it was go time and I remember especially starting to lose focus during transition and Chelsea in the calmest most reassuring voice told me how to focus and regain control of myself. I don’t know how she did it but she did! She is literally the reason I was able to have a VBAC. This review could never be long enough to say all the amazing things she is. I PROMISE you will never find anyone more compassionate than Chelsea. She truly loves what she does. FOREVER THANKFUL
After 5 years TTC my hubby and I were able to conceive our daughter through IVF. we had dreams of a natural birth. So excitedly I looked into doulas. I came across La Bella and knew it was going to be a great fit. We meet with Chelsea where she answered all our questions and put our minds at easy. From that moment she was an invaluable resource and comfort to me. We spent the months emailing back and forth. Although I had a normal healthy pregnancy my husband and I chose a hospital birth. After being induced the time came for Chelsea to arrive. We had already been in contact all day. So all I had to do was ask and she was there! Soon after her arrival my labor increased tremendously. Chelsea and my husband did their best to help comfort me and kept me on track. She kept me reassured that I was doing great!! After several hrs of labor my Dr came in to check me. I sadly hadn't progressed at all. I asked for an epidural, I was exhausted. Chelsea immediately comforted me and helped me understand what was going to happen. After the epidural was administered my Dr was able to examine me more throughly. Only to realize something was wrong. My daughter was frank breech and no one had realized. For me everything became a blur of paperwork, Drs, nurses and chaos. Chelsea once again effortlessly and calmly switched gears again. Comforting me, my husband and my family. She spoke with my husband about different options to ask the dr about. She informed my mom what was going on. I had to be put under Due to complications. Soon after Chelsea used my husbands phone to capture photos of my husband meeting our perfectly healthy daughter for the first time. I'll never be able to thank her enough for everything she did for me over the months of pregnancy and the hours of labor. She brought a sense of calm and reassurance. No matter your birth plan Chelsea is able to adapt and help achieve the best possible out come. Even when things don't go to plan.
Chelsea was amazing to work with! I hired her to encapsulate my placenta and she went above and beyond. She checked in on me throughout my pregnancy and was always quick to respond to all my questions. She is extremely knowledgeable in the field. Chelsea was kind and compassionate and put me at ease. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone!
Chelsea was fabulous!
We chose not to have a birth doula, but we wanted to take our chlidbirth classes with one because we felt we would know more about our rights as parents and as a birthing mother that way. Chelsea offers a variety of classes, and we took the Comfort Measures class and the Childbirth Education class. Both were very beneficial. I was able to create a birth plan and know what to expect at the hospital after taking these classes. My husband was comfortable interacting with Chelsea and actively participated with me in the class.
Unfortunately, I was induced and a lot of my birth plan was out the window. I had high blood pressure and was under continual monitoring because of the induction medications. I did, however, know that I could ask to stand and move around, as well as sit in a chair, instead of being stuck in my bed. I also knew I could ask for IV pain management before resorting to an epidural. All of this was empowering at a time when I felt like a lot of my options had been stripped away.
While my plan for myself did not necessarily turn out the way I expected, I felt much more confident and calm because of the classes I took with Chelsea and the strategies she taught us.
I highly recommend Chelsea if you are looking for a doula with a practical outlook who is willing to work with your personality and your needs as a family!
