Racquel was an incredible asset to have on our birthing team and helped to increase the quality of our experience in multi-various ways.

During the pregnancy itself, Racquel was available for questions, support, and encouragement. She was rather knowledgeable and informative for any inquiry that we had, and there were several different times where she was able to give us fuller insights than our birth class instructor or our midwife. Racquel even had a lot of savvy in the area of nutrition, which we found to be quite helpful. Most importantly, Racquel did not just give us textbook answers for our questions – she took the time to understand our situation and our needs and tailored her guidance and support accordingly. Rather than running us through an assembly line like most of the medical profession had done to us in times past, we felt so important and personally cared for by Racquel.

During the delivery itself, Racquel exuded great confidence, composure, and know-how. She was proficient in caring for my wife, giving her massages, coaching her in her breathing, and doing anything and everything to help her stay relaxed and focused. She helped my wife to navigate and enjoy the process in ways that no one else ever could have. Our delivery had its fair share of challenges, but with Racquel’s compassionate encouragement we were able to stay our course and come out of it with great success. Even after we brought our son home, Racquel has still been involved and extremely supportive in the success of our growing family. In Racquel we have found not just a wonderful doula, but a friend for life.

If you are looking for a first-class, personalized, robust birthing experience filled with an abundance of genuine love, joy, support, and encouragement, hiring Racquel as your doula is one of the greatest decisions you will ever make. In every way that I can, I give her my highest recommendation.

I was skeptical about the need for a doula when my wife first suggested it. We met with Racquel and I was impressed by the level of detail that she had put into making our birth plan. Even when the hospital's flu season policy forced us to modify our plans a little bit it was no problem for Racquel. We had to call her in the middle of the night, she answered right away and met us quickly at the hospital. In early labor she was working with the nurses as an advocate for my wife's well being making alternate suggestions to help comply with our birth plan. When it was time to push I was looking around trying to figure out what I could best do to help and Racquel calmly helped to guide me through the process. After the baby was born Racquel helped take pictures and work with the nursing staff to get us everything we needed. When I think back to our birth process with our first son I only wish I had used a doula then too. Everything went so much better this time and we were home 36 hours after the birth. We will always welcome Racquel in our home and with our future pregnancies. As a person who tends to do everything myself it was hard for me to understand that my skill set for labor coaching was not up to par but it only took this experience to break me of that. I know now that I made the correct decision to hire Racquel. If you are reading this and on the fence like I was please just know that I almost let pride and stubbornness get in the way of a great labor experience for my wife. Racquel definitely has a gift for this.

Raquel was incredible; when my wife and I were discussing doula services, I was concerned that my role as a father during labor would be made redundant. This was definitely not the case. She was very knowledgable, thoughtful, and a great coach for both my wife and I in our different roles. We wish that we could keep her around 24/7, and we hope to work with her again!

This was our first pregnancy and because my husband got a new job we had to move when I was around 30 weeks. I thought that I pretty much knew everything that I wanted, but I didn't. Racquel helped me to create my birth plan. When she came over to our home and I could tell that she was there to help us with what ever we needed. And I realised that I needed her help. She suggested books that fit with the way that I saw the birth going that both my husband and I read. She was always available and ready to talk if I felt discouraged for any reason. When the time came for us to go to the hospital she was at the hospital shortly after we arrived. During labor she was coaching myself and my husband. She really knew exactly what we needed and how to help. Having Racquel there was wonderful. I never felt like she was in a rush to leave whenever I spoke with her on the phone, when we met with her, or when we were at the hospital. If we are still close by her when we have our next child, she will definitely be there!

Raquel really sets the bar high as a doula. Her skillset is impressive and her energy is so positive and warm. Racquel was our light- she not only knew how to support me, but also how to support my partner. She knew how and when to provide information that was relevant, while also empowering our preferences and birth choices. Racquel's hands radiated a warm energy whenever she would massage me which was soothing. I thought I knew what a Doula was, but it wasn't until the day I went into labor that I truly understood her role and the importance of it. Racquel provided the most impressive, amazing doula services to both me and my partner and her professionalism and ability to remain calm when things became more intense was a breath of fresh air. Through every contraction, Racquel was with me as she allowed me to clench her hand. We sang labor breathing melodies together for hours and she kept me hydrated and empowered to keep going despite the pain intensifying. Racquel's strong faith and ability to remind us of ours was beautiful. Her ability to nurture me while also encouraging me and ensuring I felt empowered was truly incredible. I can't imagine my daughter's birth without Tacwuel as she was such an integral piece! Racquel's knowledge base of natural/homeopathic care and nutrition came in handy to us and her prompt communication with us when ever we sent her a text message made us feel at ease. Racquel is a gift from God and we are so thankful for her!
