The decision to include Stacey on my birth team was the most infuential choice I could have made to achieve my ideal birth experience. Without her calm reassurance, confidence and grounding touch, I can honestly say that I’m not sure I would have achieved the beautiful labor and birth that I was blessed to experience. This was my first pregnancy and it was very important to me to have an unmedicated birth. I did a lot of research and it became quickly evident that women thrive when other women are there to witness and support them throughout their labor. This is exactly how I felt having Stacey present. She supported me at home during early labor, helped me determine when it was the right time to go to the hospital, and continued to ground me and keep me in the present through the tough contractions. She also acted as a beautiful guide for my husband making him feel more comfortable with the birth experience as well as included. I felt completely supported and held by my birth team because of Stacey’s calm presence and was confident in my abilities to naturally deliver our daughter. Her unwavering support and confidence translated directly to me and I felt empowered as a result. I am truly grateful that Stacey was by my side throughout my labor and delivery - I just don’t know if I would look back at the experience with such reverence and joy if she hadn’t been there. Thank you, Stacey!
My wife and I are extremely grateful to Stacey for everything she has done and continues to do.
As a first time father, let me say that the journey to fatherood would have been far less smooth and enjoyable if it wasn't for Stacey.
Before we had Stacey on our birthing team, I was unsure of my role in the process. My wife also chose to have an unmedicated birth and so I also had a fear that I wouldn't be able to support my wife enough during labor - that I would somehow let her down by not knowing what to do. Once I had the opportunity to meet with and speak with Stacey, that fear melted away and in its place, a calmness and confidence that I don't think would have been possible without her guideance.
The experience of going through childbirth is something that only a woman can truely appreciate. And during labor, it became clear to me how important it was to have someone like Stacey by our side. She was the perfect partner for my wife - helping her to stay in the present and to relieve her stress and pain through calmness and confidence. At the same time, she was the perfect partner for me - helping guide me on what I needed to do and where I needed to be...or not to be :)
To anyone thinking about hiring a doula, I cannot stress enough the value of having that wisdom and confidence around. And once you've made that invaluable decision to hire a doula, I cannot stress enough the value that Stacey will bring to your birthing experience.
After the first 5min of our meeting with Stacey, we realized she was the one, she has an impressive positive energy, and we all agreed on my plan: natural birth with no epidural. I promised to exercise every day and eat healthy. On a Thursday at 3pm, I went to the hospital and had my water broken as my baby's movements were slowing down. Then, I got pitocin and my contractions started to get worse. She trained us to survive this first contractions by teaching us massages and yoga poses using a ball. But at 9pm I couldn't breath and my husband was running out of ideas to help me. 20min later, Stacey arrived, hugged us and immediately started doing deeper massages and new poses. I went from 4cm to fully dilated within 3 hours. I couldn't have survived the contractions without her! She knew where everything was on the hospital, she used essential oils to help me relax, she said beautiful words to keep me focused, she cried with me, she rocked me during contractions and at the very last contractions, without saying a word she just calmed me with her smile. She was more than a doula, she was my spiritual guidance. Because of her, I am able to look back at that day and being so happy and proud of myself! It was a beautiful moment for my husband too, he was nervous but he was enjoying the moment, knowing that I was with the BEST DOULA! He was there supporting me, kissing me, hugging me and holding my hand! He was so relief that we weren't alone and that he wasn't stressed about not knowing what to do to help me. During the delivery, she helped me breath deeper to push better, and after only 9 minutes my babygirl was born. If you want to do a natural birth with no epidural, you need to eat healthy, do daily exercise, and definitely you need her! You need her guidance through the pregnancy, and you need her knowledge during the contractions. We always cherish this moment, because of her. She was the missing piece, we had no idea we needed
My husband and I were both very nervous about the birth of our first child, so we looked into getting a doula. I met Stacey and instantly felt a connection. She has the most warm, calming presence which is something that a high strung person like myself desperately needed. On the day of my daughter's birth, Stacey was there every step of the way. She showed my husband how to do counterpressure techniques, and took turns with him administering all kinds of help during my contractions. Over the course of my 19 hour labor, Stacey pulled endless items from her "bag of tricks" to help ease my pain and calm my mind. From essential oils, to massage, to stretches, to breathing, the list just goes on and on. I have to say, I could NEVER have gotten through that day without Stacey. I would highly recommend her for your birth. We will definitely be calling her when we have our next little one!
Stacey was a wonderful doula. My goal was to have a un-medicated vaginal birth. Before we even hired her, we knew a c-section was a possibility due to his breech presentation. As we got closer and closer, the baby was not turning around. We had to start preparing for a new plan. I was pretty upset at the thought of my plan going out the window, but Stacey really helped me regain my happiness towards my birth. She listened to my thoughts and coached me. This really helped me enjoy the process. We also discussed gentle cesarean aspects, which were all implemented. The knowledge I got from Stacey allowed me to get many of the aspects I craved including lots of skin to skin, nursing on the OR table, and the lowering of the screen so I was able to watch our baby being born. She was unable to be there with us during the birth but she came by post-partum and worked with my needs to provide me my own special post birth regimen. She is understanding and an amazing listener. Her openness and philosophy is amazing and perfect for the birthing experience.
I had absolutely the best experience with Stacey as my doula. She was incredibly supportive and intuitive and I trusted her in the process of my birth completely. She took really good care of me during my pregnancy, during labor and birth, and in my postpartum period. I felt like she listened to what I wanted and needed and made the experience of my birth really empowering and lovely. She will forever be a part of our family!
When I told my mother I had gotten a doula she said, "Well what does a doula do?" Needless to say after the birth of her first grandson her response was, "What would we have done without Stacey?!"
Stacey was there for my husband and I through all aspects of the journey, coaching us along to help us wrap our brains around the birth of our first child. Her reassuring presence throughout the months was such a saving grace to my anxiety about what was in front of me.
This trust was amplified when I went into labor. Stacey was there by my side coaching and encouraging me for nearly twelve hours. Because of her, I was able to honor my goals and have the most positive birth experience without fear. In addition, her presence calmed my husband and mother over the long night. We could not have done it without her!
I hired Stacey as my doula for my first pregnancy. Her presence during my labor and delivery was irreplaceable! Even though I had an epidural, her coaching still made my experience 100x better than it would have been without her. She provided excellent tips prior to labor for coping with contractions pains which my husband and I were able to use when Stacey wasn't there. I highly recommend her!
My husband and I are very grateful that we had Stacey by our side during the birth of our second baby. For my first pregnancy, my husband and I took several birth classes in preparation for the delivery. However I labored in the hospital for over 2 days which was very exhausting and we were both very tired by the time our baby was born. So, for our second pregnancy we decided to have a doula.
Stacey was an incredible help during my second delivery. She was able to help me stay focused on the progression of my labor during contractions and her counter pressure techniques helped to relieve a lot of the pain. She also placed me in different positions to help the labor progresses. I also really liked the aromatherapy. During delivery I had a hard time figuring out how to push and Stacey was able to help me figure out how to position myself to push effectively. I highly recommend Stacey as a doula, she has a very calming personality and she is in tune to needs of a pregnant woman.
When I met Stacey I knew instantly she was who I wanted for support. She has such a passion for how incredible the birthing process is and has a way of connecting with people. She makes you feel very relaxed and confident. She is always available to talk or answer a quick question and checks in regularly. When I was put on bedrest Stacey gave me good exercises I could do and helped me accept my new situation. When I went into labor things did not go as planned. I had a 3 day labor and Stacey was staying connected via text the entire time until it was time for her to come to the hospital. I had to be given pitocin and was having a very strong reaction to the medication and was not handling it well. Stacey was incredible throughout the whole process. When I didn’t think I could keep going she helped me stay grounded. She was a voice of reason, the perfect pressure on my back, a good relief for my husband, and so much more. She comes with so many different tools and is prepared for any situation. She gave just the right amount of support to help me go as long as possible without the epidural and was there for me without any judgment when I decided it was time. Stacey helped me feel supported and validated in that choice. When it was time to push the nurse shift change was happening. So for a while I was pushing just with Stacey and my husband. She was such a great coach. She helped talk me through how to push properly and made me feel confident that she was there with me. I don’t know if I could have pushed him out without her coaching. Once my baby was born Stacey took pictures for us to have and cherish forever. I will forever be thankful for Stacey. She was there through such an important time of my life and I couldn’t be happier with her. If you are even considering getting a doula you definitely need to talk to Stacey. You won’t regret it, it will be the best decision you can make for you, your husband, and your sweet little bundle!
Stacey was absolutely phenomenal. My labor started, coincidentally, a few hours after our last doula appointment with her. Thank goodness! My partner had soaked in all of her awesome advice and it was fresh on his mind. We were home getting ready for a family game night and I didn't know whether I was in active labor or not because the timing between my contractions was inconsistent. My mother suggested that I call Stacey and she advised that we go to the hospital. She arrived about an hour after we checked in. She and my partner stayed by my side the entire night.
I labored without any medical intervention for 8 hours. Stacey provided physical, emotional, and mental support throughout the entire process. She helped me stick with my birth plan for as long as I could. The moment that I was ready to give in, she and I came up with a compromise regarding a new game plan. She made sure that I knew that I was still in control. Although I was only dilated by 4 centimeters when I received the epidural and pitocin, my son was born an hour and a half later. Stacey provided the buffer that I needed with the hospital staff and the extra support that my partner and I wanted. I won't have another baby without her!
I had such a wonderful, rewarding birth experience with Stacey. Despite our crunched timeline (I reached out to her when I was already 37 weeks), she made a great effort to meet me and my husband several times to go over everything. I went into labor on 9/1, right after Hurricane Harvey. Stacey had lost her home and everything in it to the flooding, but she was still happy to help me in my birth and was incredibly selfless and present, all things considered.
I had to be induced with pitocin and Stacey helped me so much with pain management and mental coaching. I was able to give birth unmedicated, but could never have done it without her support and knowledge. She really made our birth experience so special and I can't say enough great things about her!
