Addie was an amazing support to both my husband and me throughout pregnancy. When I realized that I wanted a natural labor and delivery, Addie believed in me and supported me, especially when I was discouraged by the naysayers. She recommended books, documentaries, and other kinds of informational support, and was always there to listen when I had fears or concerns to discuss. And, as you'll always find with Addie, she never, ever judged me or my decisions, even early in my pregnancy when I was planning on not breastfeeding. By the time I reached my due date, Addie had convinced me that my body was made to birth!

And it was. My entire labor and delivery was an hour and forty minutes, and since I live two hours away from Addie, she was en route when my son was born. But I cannot even express how relieved I was when she arrived in the delivery room. My husband was busy with the baby, the nurses and midwife were busy with the medical stuff, and I was feeling completely overwhelmed by the rapid labor I'd experienced that was nothing like the books I'd read. Addie walked in the door and saw ME. She immediately brought me cold washcloths for my forehead, sat down, and just let me talk at her about how intense everything had been. The way she listened and validated my fears -- when almost everyone else just kept telling me how lucky I was -- really helped me move forward to feeling more positively about my birth.

I cannot thank Addie enough for the support she gave my family through pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. In addition to her wisdom and understanding of birth, she took beautiful photos (both at the hospital and in a newborn session) that I will cherish forever and also taught me how to use my Moby wrap. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a birth doula, postpartum doula, or photographer in the Milwaukee area.

Addie attended the hospital births of both of my children and I couldn't have had a better experience. My first labor lasted 14 hours and Addie was there to walk with me, suggest different positions to labor in, and rub my back when I thought the contractions wouldn't end! My second baby was born at 2 a.m. and Addie was there with me even after my husband fell asleep! My husband and I are both grateful for her help through all the unknowns of labor and delivery!

Addie was my daughter’s doula for both her deliveries. We both found Addie to be a wonderful doula who was warm, caring, attentive and knowledgeable. Having a child is a high stress event and Addie brought a calming presence to the birth of both of my grandchildren. I am very glad that she could be there with us. As an added bonus Addie is a great photographer who took fantastic pictures of their births. I would highly recommend Addie Wescott as a doula.
