I strongly believe that Linda is the number one reason my husband and I survived the first months after our son was born. Aside from being incredibly reliable, professional, up to date on everything to know about babies, she is just a really genuine and fun person.
My husband and I don't always see eye to eye and this was one of many serious and big decisions to make together...who are we going to let into our home at night and handle our first baby? After meeting her we wanted to hire her on the spot! She spent the time to ask us a lot of questions, took notes, listened and provided some initial advice.
While working together she was always on time and overly communicative about her schedule and if she was running late. If she was sick or knew she would be out of town, she always had a trusted back up to recommend. She was always open to guiding me on the best things to do - nap schedules, nursing, organization, pretty much anything related to our son. At one month she recommended I start putting him in the crib for naps, nighttime and prepare a nightime ritual -- unbelievable, this was the best advice that she helped me to stick to.
As mentioned above, I really appreciated her professionalism - I think she does an incredible job at loving what she does but also managing her business. She is very straight forward and candid which I think is crucial for the relationship between a doula and families.
Finally, to expand upon Linda as a person - she rocks! There were times when she had to send me to bed because I was chatting her up and she knew I needed my sleep. She is really fun to talk to, spend time with and she is very down to earth. I miss our conversations and seeing her nearly everyday. My husband and I both felt so lucky to have her a part of our home and son's first months.
We hired Linda in 2017 as a night doula with our then 3.5 month old twins. It was absolutely an amazing experience. She helped me with nursing tips, sleep training, laundry, dishes, and accommodated our schedules nicely. She would do the night feedings on the night she was there so I could sleep and wake only to pump. She is extremely professional and anyone would be lucky to have her help their family.
Linda was a post-partum doula for me for my first son and a birth doula for my second son. She was a tremendous help to me both times. Her presence is peaceful, steady, reassuring, even in the most stressful times. Linda is caring and warm and I felt supported during those difficult first days at home with the new baby. She helped me figure out the best breastfeeding positions, how to get the baby to latch properly, how to treat soreness--I couldn't have gotten through those early days of breastfeeding without her.
As a birth doula, she was flexible and open to our wishes and ideas. I knew I could count on her to be there when I needed her and be my advocate in the hospital. She coached me through the painful labor pains and was a partner with my nurse in getting me through a long, sometimes scary birth experience. In the days following the birth, Linda was there to help with my oldest, giving me time alone with the baby, doing light housekeeping, bringing glasses of water as I nursed, and generally making me feel cared for and supported. I highly recommend Linda to any parent looking for a caring, experienced doula who will ease the birthing and post-partum experience, offering knowledge, insight, and physical and emotional support.
Linda is absolutely amazing. She is trully all about making sure I was comfortable 100% of the time. I can't recommend Linda enough. I would have absolutely had a C section if she hasnt been there. She never pushed me to do anything I didn't want to, but with her by my side, I felt empowered and strong enough to push for 5 hours!
Thank you linda!
As a first time mom I knew I wanted the support of a professional doula to help guide me through the birthing process. I started interviewing doulas when I was only 3 months pregnant, because I am the type of person that needs to plan ahead in order to feel prepared and relaxed.
I researched local doulas on doulamatch.net, and Linda's profile resonated with me best because she had so much experience, and also because I felt she would support what I had wanted for my delivery with no judgment, and although she explained other options, she did not try to change my mind on what I wanted. I loved Linda's birth classes to help prep my husband and I for what to expect during the delivery, and I felt Linda truly listened to my concerns and helped navigate them with me.
On the day my son was born, Linda was amazing! She kept me calm, and reminded my husband how he could support me so that he felt involved in the process. She was able to help us understand what was going on when the nurses would explain something too quickly or we needed more information. When I was asked to make a decision she reminded me of what I told her I wanted and helped me understand other options. I am so thankful to have had Linda as a member of my birth team, I recommend her to all my friends who are expecting!
We found Linda through word of mouth of another doula we know. I felt very supported and prepared for birth because of her expertise. My labor was four days long! That is a contraction every 4-15 minutes for fours days and Linda was available at any moment during those days. She helped turn the baby a little midway through labor and that helped us progress. For 3 straight hours of pushing she was by my side.
She also had really good report with all the staff at Kaiser.
I am so thankful she was my doula and can't imagine what would have happened without her support.
I can't say enough good things about Linda. She is an absolute Godsend and she made the first few months with my newborn so much more of an enjoyable experience.
I would not have been able to be as good of a mommy to my older child, without Linda's help too. She helped make the nights easier for me and allowed me to be a refreshed and happy mommy!
Aside from helping me, she also helped to get my daughter on a sleep schedule, sleeping through the night and helped to regulate her sleep patterns so much better. She provided great advice and insight and was just a great person to talk to as I struggled juggling motherhood with 2 children.
I love Linda to the moon and back and would recommend her to anyone!
I was extremely grateful I had Linda as my doula. This was my first pregnancy and birth. I was in a sensitive situation as I single mom. I didn't know if I wanted my daughter's father in the room, if he would show up or how helpful he would be. Linda showed deep respect to both of us but held a space for me to have a wonderful birth. From the beginning Linda made herself available to answer questions, got to know my plan, helped adjust the plan based on her knowledge and made sure that I was well cared for throughout.
Linda showed up to the hospital right away and made helpful suggestions. Unfortunately for me the only position I was comfortable in was on my back on the bed where I could writhe and moan. My plan was to stay at home as long as I could while I labored but that was not the case. Everything changed and Linda went right along not missing a beat staying positive. She stayed awake with me, monitored me and gave me confidence to go through with my plan.
While at the hospital Linda reminded me of my plan, educated me on choices and advocated on my behalf. She would bring things to the staff's attention that I would forget about. When it was time to push she was right there holding one of my legs and then taking pictures to capture the first moments with my daughter. My daughter was 9lbs 7oz! Linda made sure I was okay and then came back bringing me a smoothie and a coffee, such an angel!
After I was released Linda came to my home to check on me, my daughter, and our progress. She even gave us breastfeeding tips and breast shields- total lifesaver- get them!
If you are on the fence I would say use her! I had my mom with me too (a mother of 4 including me and my twin sister) and my daughter's father did show up. Linda helped take the pressure off me and everyone else so I could focus on MY experience. I would highly recommend her to anyone whether it is your first baby or last!!!
Linda was an unexpected, sweet and wonderful surprise. Her presence alone made me feel calm and ready for the challenge ahead. I was very pleased to have her there with her beautiful, soft spoken and reassuring voice. She was there to hold my hand, rub my back, and to make sure I was breathing correctly! I also loved the fact that she noticed my hair was array, and asked if I wanted it braided. She put a lovely side braid/bun that made me feel great, and looked nice for the pictures afterwards.
She was also able to follow up with our new family a few times postpartum to make sure everything was going smoothly and to give me tips for breastfeeding. She is very kind and knowledgeable. I couldn't be more pleased with her, and everyting she provided! i would highly reccomend Linda to be your doula!
Linda Miranda is a beautiful person and a fabulous Doula. She assisted us in the birth of our second child and her presence created a sense of calm in the room. Linda is attentive, intuitive and gracious. I was relaxed and well taken care of during the birth and after. I am grateful to have had her at our birth and I will be contacting her at our next one. Thanks again Linda, I can't imagine doing it without you.
Linda was my doula for my daughter's birth in August 2010. Linda is a fantastic lady and an amazing doula! I truly don't know how I would have survived my daughter's birth without Linda. I went into pre-labor 3 weeks before I actually gave birth, and Linda was there from day one. She came over the night I went into pre-labor and stayed with me until we were sure I wasn't headed for the hospital anytime soon. She was with me frequently in the 3 weeks following, doing everything she could to support me and prepare me for the birth. Once I was in active labor, she came over immediately and was with me through the entire process. Linda helped me labor at home for almost 7 hours before we went to the hospital. Once we were there, she used many relaxation techniques to get me through the remaining hours of my 20-hour labor until the baby was finally born. She was also indispensable when there were problems with my epidural during transition - I don't know how I could have coped with the pain of back labor without an epidural without her. She was supportive of all my decisions in and out of the labor room, including helping me to work through 3 tough hours of pushing when the baby was turned at the end. Linda was also very supportive of me and my baby after the birth, visiting frequently and giving helpful suggestions to help my postpartum recovery along. I definitely recommend Linda as a wonderful choice for a birth doula!
