Hi, I’m Kristen. I am a mother to a feisty 3.5 year old who is my entire world. I practice gentle parenting, and believe wholeheartedly in the attachment parenting model. I support extended breastfeeding, safe co-sleeping, evidence based decisions on vaccines and medical interventions, and am an intactivist. I believe in serving and empowering women and families as they make the transition into parenthood and have carried passion for this for many years. Because of my passion I specialize in working with families (not just women, but also partners) who have suffered birth trauma, sexual trauma, suffer from PTSD and anxiety, though I am happy to work with women of all backgrounds as they pass into parenthood. In addition to my CAPPA-trained (2016) Doula Services I am starting the process of becoming a Midwives Assistant and plan to attend Midwifery School in the next 1-3 years. Continuing Education Credits through CAPPA in: Prenatal Mental Health: What All Perinatal Professionals Need to Know; Supporting Natural Birth in the Hospital setting. Working towards certifications with: Childbirth Education with CAPPA, Certified Doula with Still Birthday.

I found Kristen through a NH parenting group I had joined. I was moving from FL to NH in the middle of my pregnancy, and even before we ever even met I knew I was lucky to have connected with her. She made me feel so at ease about birthing in a whole new place (my first three were all born at the same hospital in FL), and never ever made me feel like a bother for having a million random questions or even just messaging her to chat. She was super supportive of every wish I had for my labor and birth, and really did a great job of advocating for me when the time came and making sure my plans were respected by my care providers. I really loved having her there, it was like having a best friend by my side through everything, and coming from out of state to a place where I know so few people, that really made my birth experience so wonderful.
My experience with Kristen was unconventional but still wonderful. The day my water broke, I called my doula to update her. She told me she was sick and would attend the birth if needed, but rather find me a good substitute. She gave Kristen's information and spoke highly of her. I called Kristen; we spoke about all the necessary information, how I was feeling, my plans, my questions. Basically a doula speed date. She was kind and comforting, letting me know, even though my labor started out with a bit of a shock, it would be okay.
That night, I wasn't having any strong contractions so I went to bed. I woke up at 2:30AM DEFINITELY in labor, already 4min apart and when I had counted for an hour, realized it was time to go to the birth center. We called Kristen and asked her to meet us there as there was no time to wait for her. She had never been to our chosen location, but made it to our room without any more direction from us. She jumped right in with a brief but polite introduction and started coaching. It was seamless. I was so suprised by how comfortable I felt; having only met her by phone less than 24hrs before. Labor only lasted a few more hours, but in that time she reminded us of our music, showed my husband things he could do, did a great job helping me position myself and coaching my breathing. In the moments between contractions she got me smiling and conversing with her to keep my mind busy. By 8am we had our baby and she was snapping photos for us to remember the occasion. She stayed with us, making sure we were all settled and taken care of before she left. She said to let her know if we needed anything, that she could visit or answer questions. Her responses to my questions and texts have been prompt, well thought out, and helpful. She is a kind, strong, and knowledgeable doula that we were lucky to have. Thank you Kristen for making my birth experience great despite all the hiccups!
My doula Kristen Page helped empower me through my goal of having a successful Vaginal Birth after Cesarean (VBAC). A few months into my second pregnancy I realized that my thoughts about birth were full of shame, fear, and a feeling of no control. I knew that if I wanted to have a different experience I'd need support and so I set out to find a doula. From the second I met Kristen I felt comfortable, her empowering presence brought out my own fire and her all accepting attitude helped me to talk about some deep rooted fears I'd never had the ability to verbalize. We began preparing for that VBAC months before my due date; we talked through vitamins, nutrition, research to support upcoming decisions, where my fears were rooted, how to face them, exercises to get baby into position, and every other question I had. Our conversations took place in person, via text, or on the phone. At our in home visits Kristen took time to get to know my family, she wrote down my goals, and demonstrated the exercises. The day my water broke she was my first call and even as I questioned if I was in labor she helped to talk me through scenarios that were best for baby AND mom. Throughout labor kept encouraging me that 'yes I could do this', she got me laughing, helped me advocate for myself to the staff, helped me pause before making medical decisions, and gave the most incredible pain relieving back rubs during contractions. She let me take back my birthing experience! Her support didn't just stop at birth- She supported through post partum blues, healing concerns, and kept checking in on me not just the baby.
Hospital staff are incredible but your questions and concerns don't always emerge in your 15 minute appointments. The support Kristen will give you is priceless. She's fun, non judgetmental, powerful, and incredibly knowledgeable. Her services will help you get the most out of your birth experience!
Kristen was great! She supported us through the entire process. She went to prenatal appointments, helped setup the baby’s room, and was there through the entire birth experience. Even though it went completely the opposite of what was hoped for, Kristen was amazing. Always helping with the hard decisions and always making sure we felt empowered to advocate for ourselves.
I first met Kristen at a women’s circle. I immediately knew she was someone I would get along with. When I found out she was a doula, although not pregnant at that time, I told her right then I would hire her for my next pregnancy. When that time came she was one of the first people I told. She was so helpful throughout the entire pregnancy providing useful information for myself and partner. When the big day came, her calm and reassuring voice is the only thing I could hear amidst the craziness of my faster than average delivery. I highly recommend her to every expecting mom in the area! Should there be any more babies in my future, I know she will be by my side again.
I signed a contract with Kristen late in my pregnancy, like 35 weeks late. Despite this I had no problems feeling comfortable with her being part of such a special moment right away. She was easy to chat with openly, even about the nitty gritty stuff. As a third time mom, we first met kids in tow and she made herself available from that point on, and contiuned to check in until I finally agreed I needed her at my birth. As a doula myself, I knew the support was beyond valuable, but she went beyond my expectations. While I was fairly low matinence since I came knowing what to expect and trained, she always had helpful suggestions for any complaints and was prepared to come anytime I was getting monitored. With multiple preterm labor scares, it was often the last month. Even if I didn't need her the offer is what counts and it was always promt, within minutes of giving her updates. While I was delivering an hour away, she had no problem shooting up to the hospital and meeting us there in perfect timing as I requested when it was the real deal. I managed pretty well on my own until transition, at which point she tried things from counter pressure, hip squeezes, and essential oils. She was fantastic at picking up when something was helping, when I needed her, and when to hang back. Which was surpsingly difficult as I was off in my own world, only answering "I don't know" when asked questions. She showed my husband some of the comfort techniques. She took pictures at my request. My birth experience was incredible because of her, and thanks to the pictures I have lasting memories. For the first time I can look back on my birth and be happy with it. I've never felt stronger or more empowered! I canot reccomend her enough, and would hire her again in a heartbeat if I am to have another.
Kristen always gives off a very calm vibe. She can definitely joke and be silly when the time is right, but overall Kristen's demeanor is that of strong tranquility. She made my partner Sean and me feel empowered but also comfortable and relaxed throughout our experience. She made herself available to us from the time of our first meeting all the way through those next couple months, as well as during and after the birth of our daughter. Her response time is excellent in terms of communicating by phone or message. She taught us about natural ways to kick start labor, helped me troubleshoot the discomfort of the last trimester, and helped prepare and educate us for the many decisions we would have to make during and immediately following the birth. At the birth, she was flexible and arrived when we wanted her to arrive. We were a little nervous about including a third person in the room, especially someone we didn't know well, but Kristen has a knack for knowing when to hang back and when to engage. As my labor ramped up, for each contraction Kristen provided continual counter pressure on my spine, which went on for almost five hours. During every single contraction throughout the most difficult part of my labor she pressed as hard as she could on my back. That takes an incredible amount of mental & physical stamina & resilience. I feel that without Kristen's support I may not have been able to cope with the pain as well as I did (I didn't have an epidural). After our daughter was born, Kristen tactfully said her goodbyes and left. We had a post partum visit, she came to our home as she always did and made sure I was feeling well and cuddled baby. We talked about breastfeeding and swaddling. I emphatically recommend obtaining Kristen's services. She is highly skilled, she easy going, and she's got a great sense of humor. Kristen is a fountain of unbiased, evidence-based knowledge. She is in touch with her spirituality. Birth was better because of her.
