We love Courtney and would highly recommend hiring her for your birth. At our initial meet and greet, I felt like we connected and she instantly made me comfortable. She was a great listener, ready to help with the birth I envisioned. We had two follow up visits where we talked through the birth plan and labor. She was great about asking us questions for different scenarios that could arise during birth. She also walked through labor coping tips and my husband felt confident in ways he could help. At 38 weeks, however, we found out our baby had some bowel issues. I was going to be induced at 39 weeks and our baby would need surgery within the first 24 hours of life. We also had to switch hospitals. I was suddenly with a new team of doctors and didn’t know anyone. Courtney was there for us in such a huge way. She was a familiar, known and trusted face. She walked me through all the options with induction and gave us guidance throughout the process. She was so good at reading me, my husband, and the room - knowing when to give instructions and reminders, being an extra set of hands, when to reassure me, and made us feel comfortable even in a scary situation. She is so knowledgeable. She helped us have a natural birth like we originally planned while still navigating an induction. She continued to follow up with us while we were in the NICU and when we got home. Courtney made a huge difference for us in the midst of a scary situation with many unknowns. I can look back at labor and delivery with such a sense of peace because of her. You will not regret hiring her!

When the growth ultrasound at 37wks showed that my baby was going to be big, the doctor advised me to schedule a repeat c-section. I felt crushed! My plan was to try for a VBAC and I really wanted to avoid the surgery. I was so shaken up that I couldn’t make the decision. Courtney was the only person who knew what to say to help me calm. After talking to her I decided to hire her and to try for the VBAC as planned (my providers were supportive). I’m so glad I had Courtney as my doula! On the night when my labor started, Courtney was promptly on her way to meet me. She knew it was time because I wasn’t replying to her messages anymore. And she was correct — when I finally called her she was already near the hospital. Courtney stayed up all night with me making sure I had everything I needed. She found positions and movements that were helping me cope with pain and move the baby down. We walked the halls together while my husband took a very needed nap. She kept me entertained with stories when I needed a distraction and she was quiet when I needed to focus. Thanks to her, I was able to labor for 10 hours and push for 2 hours without an epidural. I had the VBAC like I wanted and the baby was big (10lb 7oz). And it was glorious. Courtney had such a nurturing presence and I just loved her sense of humor. She is an attentive, knowledgeable and confident doula. I was in good hands. Hoping to hire her again in the future.

From the first correspondence between Courtney and me, I knew she was the one! She was prompt and thorough in her initial responses and very professional. When my husband and I first met with her, she exceeded our expectations and we were sure that we wanted to hire her for our first birth! Throughout pregnancy, she came to our home on multiple occasions to provide information and teaching on various aspects of labor and delivery, as well as postpartum care. She made it very personal, finding out what type of birth we wanted and how we envisioned her role as doula. She constantly engaged my husband during these meetings, ensuring that we were both preparing for one of the most exciting moments of our lives. Courtney provided us with great resources to research and read to help us further prepare. As we past my due date and were approaching possible induction (which was not part of our birth plan), Courtney gave us great advice to help speed things along as well as a way to talk with the midwife and ensure that induction was actually necessary at the point. Three days before induction, labor began! Courtney was available on the phone to walk us through anything we needed and then met us at the hospital later that night. Throughout the birth, she was perceptive to what I needed - just enough hands-on to be a huge help and advocate without getting in the way of my husband and my interactions. She gave my husband great insights into what to try to help me cope with the pain as well as offered to help when he needed a break. When things stalled a bit and the OB offered some options on ways to speed it up, Courtney was there to walk through the options with us to know what was best for mama and baby. We could not have done an all-natural childbirth without Courtney. She was amazing in every way and truly made our experience what we hoped it would be! I would hire her again and again.

Courtney was amazing - I was really happy with our decision to work with her for our first pregnancy. She is very knowledgable and experienced which was really helpful as we developed our birth plan all the way through labor, delivery and postpartum. My birth plan took a turn from a natural approach to an induction with pain meds and she was really supportive as I changed courses and worked with me every step of the way. She was such a great resources as I was laboring and pushing, she knew just what to say and do and how to support my body through contractions. I highly recommend her!

From the moment we met Courtney, our personalities clicked and she felt like a close friend. Courtney is supportive, engaging, compssionate, fun, and just direct enough to coach you through the hardest parts of labor without being overbearing. She supports you through labor in ways you didn't know you needed - emotional support, physical manipulations to ease discomfort, keeping essentials oils running, cold wash cloths on your neck, making sure you're well-hydrated and fed, just to name a few! She is also incredibly knowledgeable about pregnancy, labor and delivery and always available to answer any questions you may have even before the big day! We were anxious about when the right time was to drive in to the birth center as it was our first baby and we live an hour away from the birth center. My husband was stressed out with the responsibilities of helping me through contractions by pressing on my back, packing us up into the car, driving and timing contractions. Once we were with Courtney, we took a big sigh of relief because we had an extra set of hands, she timed the contractions and helped us know when it was "time" to go in. Going through an unmedicated childbirth with her by our sides made her feel like part of our family. We are so glad she was a part of our son's birth and would highly recommend her to anyone!

Courtney will be excellent and valuable member of your birth team!  She is passionate about supporting moms in acheiving their goals in labor and delivery by educating, listening, trusting and serving you all along the way.  She served as my doula for my third birth which took place at a local birth center.  I've given birth at home, in a hospital, and this most recent time, at the birth center.  I loved having Courtney there in addition to my husband and sister (and the midwives). It's reassuring to know there is someone there that's aware of your birth plan and can advocate objectively for you and help you and your partner remember what you wanted. But not only that, it was just like having your close friend in the room. She took the time to get to know me in our prenatal meetings and not just the all the birthy stuff, but also who I really am as a whole person.  As a result, she was a vital emotional support in the more intense moments when time for labor came. Her calm words of encouragement came just at the right times. Sometimes the doctor or midwives have to leave the room, and it's so great to have someone there with you at EVERY moment who can share their knowledge and insight as well as be a physical support for you as you deal with contractions, etc. As a mom experienced and educated already with the process of birth, I can't empasize how important having someone like Courtney there is. She will be such a vital member of your support team whether it's your first baby or your tenth!

I cannot say enough great things about Courtney. She has been an incredible support since day one! She was amazing at helping me understand what my desires for birth were, helping me structure my birth plan, and discussing pregnancy/labor/postpartum to help prepare me for what to expect. Even when I found out my baby was transverse, she was sending me information and encouragement to help me remain confident in my ability to give birth the way I wanted. (Thankfully baby turned and I did get the birth I wanted).

During labor, she came and helped support me while I labored at home as soon as I felt I needed her. She was able to help me read my body to know when I needed to go to the birth center.
At the birth center she helped me find so many ways to stay relaxed and comfortable especially when the contractions were getting overwhelming. She was so consistent and gentle about reminding me to relax during contractions, she was literally standing on the bed behind/above me with her rebozo to help lift weight off me when I was laboring on hands and knees. She massaged my back and shoulders to help me from tensing; she applied counter pressure exactly where and when I needed it. She made sure to keep my washcloths ice cold. She had such a confidence in me to birth my baby that it helped to keep me confident. She was gentle and kind with her encouragement but strong and confident with her labor support. She truly helped me have such a successful labor.
Oh and she also took some awesome pictures to help us keep these special memories. I will cherish those forever!
Highly highly highly recommend Courtney for any birth experience you're planning to have.

Courtney's services during my VBAC labor were invaluable. I felt very comfortable with her from the beginning, and she helped me achieve all my birth goals. It was exactly the experience I hoped for, thanks to Courtney's expertise and support. Thank you Courtney!
