Post a testimonial for C.E. Durfee

There are no words to describe my gratitude in finding and hiring C.E. as a doula. My husband in the beginning had no clue the depth and necessity of a doula until after our son was born, and now he doesn't know how birth happens without one!
C.E. is beyond thorough in the prenatal appointment and is warm, inviting and truly an expertise in this field. C.E. was the calming energy and advocate I truly needed while giving birth to my son. Not only did C.E. support me, but supported my husband as well, making sure he was hydrated and assisting me in comfort measures during labor (because honestly he had no idea what to do without C.E. haha and that's okay! That is why C.E. was there!).
I cannot express how happy I was with not only a doula during my birthing experience, but C.E. specifically as my doula. It was so comforting knowing C.E. was in my corner, supporting me throughout my entire labor & delivery (as the nurses were in/out as well as my midwife and did not coach me through my labor much), as well as following up after birth too.
I absolutely loved that C.E. supported me in wanting a natural hospital birth, but no matter my decision was an advocate for the kind of birth I had in mind. C.E. was there for the long haul as my first birth was a long one, another doula came to relieve C.E. and although C.E. could have left, C.E. still stayed. That shows me so much character and grace and how C.E. truly cares about the client (and it doesn't feel like a client/practitioner relationship because after birth, wow, what a bond you have afterwards with these amazing humans called doulas!).
I cannot recommend C.E. enough as an amazing doula and support during any individual's childbirth. Beyond, beyond grateful and worth every single penny!

Courtney and her team were so wonderful to deal with. Always available via text, phone, or email and they were there within 2 hours to pick up my placenta and it was returned encapsulated 24 hours later. The product is wonderful, high quality, and priceless. I love my placenta prints, cord keepsake, and the pills are working wonderfully. Highly recommend using her services. Thank you Courtney!

My experience with Courtney Durfee was a positive one. She was very supportive and informative regarding my need for placenta encapsulation services. Courtney was very helpful when figuring out the policies and procedures at my birthing hospital, and was happy to work out the kinks in their system in order to easily retain my placenta. Her partner Suzie was so professional, sweet and caring when dealing with her for the encapsulation services. I have and will continue to recommend her for placental encapsulation services in the future to any friends or clients of mine.

Courtney, was extremely prompt and professional. She provided all information we needed for the placenta encapsulation (as first time parents, we had no idea), she came to our hospital to pick it up and delivered it on time. She also included a complementary gift with the pills and sent us a card on our daughter's first birthday--not only is she good at what she does but those little touches make a huge difference. She is terrific.

I can't believe how wonderful my postpartum experience was with my second. Suzie was extremly proffesional and personable and so very sweet. I had heard about Hudson River Doulas as well as placentogaphy. Suzie explained everything to me and came quite a distance to bring my prepared placenta and to see how I was doing. I would reccomend Suzie and Hudson River Doula Network for all your pregnancy and postpartum needs. They are wonderful ladies with so much knowledge and kindness. Thank you thank you!

I hired Courtney as part of my quest for a VBA2C. I had never used a doula before and wanted to do as much as could to make sure I didn't end up with another c-section. Not only was Courtney amazing throughout my labor, but she and her partners created such a support network for me during my pregnancy. Their compassion, positive energy, and thoughtfulness put me in a good mental place before labor. They never doubted me, which made me never doubt myself. Courtney helped me negotiate successfullly with my doctor during labor when she wanted to give me pitocin beacuse my labor stalled. She got me past the point where I thought I couldn't do it anymore, she even rewarded me with chocolate covered almonds after the baby was born!
I delivered my 9 lb., 5 oz. baby boy naturally after fifteen hours of labor and ten minutes of pushing. It was the most rewarding experience of my life. I will be forever grateful to Courtney and all of the Hudson River Doula Network for taking part in it and helping me through it!

I simply cannot express how much of a blessing it was to have Courtney’s doula services with my first pregnancy and delivery. My partner felt that Courtney was naturally in tune with me in ways he simply couldn’t be. She was confident and encouraging as she eased my fears and my pains. She was able to help him in what he could do to both help and stay out of the way. Her comfortability and fluidity during the entire labor transformed an overwhelming experience into a beautiful one. Courtney’s persona is also one that you want to have around as a confidant and a friend, well after the baby is born. We highly recommend Courtney as a doula to everyone! Her presence can only result in a positively memorable experience for you and yours.

So glad that we hired Courtney for our placenta encapsulation. She turned it around quickly and her knowledge was helpful. I also think that the pills have helped me feel balanced and energized during this postpartum stage.

I remember thinking how it must feel awkward to be in a stranger's home, not knowing where things were etc. but I was most impressed with how confident and assured Courtney was when in the home. She exuded a sense of belonging in a very pleasant way, as if she was an old friend returning for a visit after a long absence. She casually aquainted herself in a non-intrusive way and blended into the flow of things.
Courtney is wonderful to talk to. She stayed a step ahead of everything from walking our daughter across the street and helping her out to heating up a meal for us during follow up.
I enjoyed her open-mindedness and appreciation for learning new things. She had shared a sense of awe at our midwives and their explaination of things; it is not often that one finds someone so willing to grow and continue learning the whys and hows. So, she does things with a deep understading of why its being done, she doesn't just do it "because."
Courtney's knowledge was very helpful and soothing--all sorts of information-- from comfort measures, to resources in the community. And if she wasn't sure of something--she found out and researched it.
I asked my husband what he thought and his thoughts are blended in here as well, he felt very comfortable with her. He felt comfortable speaking with her, and sharing the responsiblity of helping me. He felt confident in her skills and abilities. She even helped take pictures during the birth!
Gotta make sure you discover her favorite foods--she didn't eat much here!
Both my husband and I highly recommend Courtney and would definately use her again. As a matter of fact, since we are both local, we keep in touch with her and occasionally get together.
