Hiring Jennifer for my home birth was the best decision I could have made for my family. She was so calming and attentive. She was a wonderful complement to my spouse and midwives. The hip squeezes were probably the best thing ever and what helped me with my birth plan of having a drug free labour. It was her hand that I held while I was receiving sutures and my spouse was doing skin to skin with our newborn. Thank you for all the love and support!! If I have another, I will certainly be hiring her again!

Jen exceeded our expectations as our doula!
My first experience giving birth was one full of anxiety and worry. My husband and I hired Jen for our second childs birth in hopes of decreasing the anxiety I felt surrounding birth.
Jens presence during my labour and birth enabled me to feel confident in what my body could do. She supported each decision I made during labour, made me feel respected and safe, and was a constant support to both my husband and I. Jen provided support both physically and emotionally from the moment labour started, until our sweet boy was in our arms.
Thank you Jen for opening my eyes to what birth can be- a positive and empowering experience.

I was skeptical about a having a doula at the birth of my second child, because i wanted the experience to be something only my husband and i shared. I decided i wanted a natural birth (no drugs) and after some research decided i would like a doula present at the birth for the extra support. Jennifer was kinda and calming and i knew she would be a great choice. I am BEYOND thankful that she was there. She kept me calm and reminded me to breathe, drink water, and try different positions to keep me comfortable. Jennifer encouraged my husband to participate in the birth and gave him guidance on how to support me (Hold my hand, rub my back, etc) She stayed with me when my husband needed small breaks and provided the same support he did. Jennifer was with me until the baby was born and gave us privacy once everyone was settled. I can’t speak highly enough of her as a person and as a doula. If i was to have another child, she would be on my birth team, no questions asked. Thank you Jenn xo

Choosing Jen to be our doula for the birth of our first child was the best decision we could have possibly made. At first my husband and I were hesitant to spend the money but after hearing rave reviews from friends of our we went ahead, and we are both so glad we did. We met with Jen a few times before the big day to chat, ask questions and discuss our birth plan. She was always calm, helpful and knowledgeable. When I began to go into labour Jen came to our house and stayed for the entire 27 hour long labour before we had to go to the hospital. Through a long and challenging labour Jen was calm, confident and collected. She was a strong pair of hands massaging my back and applying counter pressure during my contractions, she was a gentle whisper reminding me to relax my jaw and breathe, she was an encouraging voice guiding me to get up and walk, dance, squat and keep that baby moving. She held my hand as I laboured in the tub, she held the bags as I threw up over and over. I couldn't eat, I could barely drink and I was exhausted but I still felt empowered and encouraged. I am 100% sure that the only reason I was able to labour through 27 hours without pain medication or assistance is because of Jen.

Even when we had to go to the hospital because my labour had stalled, I did not feel defeated. Jen met us at the hospital and continued to be an amazing source of support for us. She held my hand and encouraged me as I pushed our daughter out with the assistance of forceps. I was so relieved to have had her there.

Jen also visited us at home a number of times after we left the hospital to help me with breastfeeding and to check in and see how we were doing. Working with her was an amazing, empowering experience from start to finish and I wouldn't have it any other way. I am truly grateful for the support and service that she provided us with and I would highly recommend her to anyone preparing to have a child.

Jennifer was there for me every step of the way during my second pregnancy, labour, and birth. From my first encounter with Jennifer, I felt so comfortable and connected with her. She has a calming presence that makes you feel so confident in yourself. Her knowledge as a RN is also really amazing to have, you know you’re in good hands with her. Because of Jennifer, I was able to achieve my VBAC and have the labour and delivery that I wanted. Once we called her to come to our house during labour, I felt so much more at ease. Her methods to feel comfortable during labour are amazing and just her presence is calming. My husband felt more confident in providing support to me by having her there. I cannot say enough about the pivotal role Jennifer played in my birth, I only wish she was with me during the birth of my first child. She is an amazing support person and will help you achieve the birth of your dreams. Jennifer also came by for a postpartum visit and it was so lovely to see her after the birth and to gain some breastfeeding confidence from her as well. Jennifer is amazing and I am forever thankful for her support! I would recommend her to anyone in the Durham Region having a baby, even if you’ve given birth before, her support makes a huge difference!
