My husband and I highly recommend Rae (and her partner Lana) who were our doulas for the birth of our first child. Rae has a great amount of knowledge and experience and was able to answer all of my husband's questions during our prenatal visits and help me deal with my fears about labor. Rae had lots of resources for me, from baby spinning to mediation exercises, prior to going into labor. I had a long, trying labor and my husband and I had constant support during our four day stay in the birth center of the hospital. Rae knew what to do and what to say to help me stay focused during labor. I credit how well I feel labor went to the work of Rae and Lana. At times they knew what I needed before I did, and I felt calmer knowing they were present. My husband appreciated being able to take a break and having someone there to help him when he was tired or wasn't sure what to do. Most importantly, I felt cared for and safe. I would not hesitate to recommend Rae and if we have another child, we would hire Rae and Lana in a heartbeat.

I'm so glad I chose Rae to be there for our son's birth. Of course... everything didn't go as 'planned', but I think we need to get used to that from now on!  Everything went as it should have and my husband & I are both so thankful Rae was there to coach us and encourage us both through labor and delivery. I really do NOT think a natural birth would've happened, had Rae not been there. I will definitely be recommending Rae to anyone I know having a baby... she's an amazing person and so wonderful at what she does. Being around Rae that day really made me see what a difference we can make in others lives by simply encouraging them and cheering them on.  It inspired me to do more of that, so I appreciate Ray for teaching that life lesson as well!

We had a GREAT experience with Rae Baker. Even before my daughter was born she was sending my helpful sites to read up on and calling to make sure the pregnancy was going well.   She was there from start to finish and I don't know what we would have done without her.  Besides having my husband there she was my rock.  Rae had so many great ideas to help get the babies head in the correct position.  She also listened to my concerns and what my husband and I were looking for with the birth of our daughter.  She also stayed in direct contact with my nurse to make sure everything that we wanted was going to happen.  With Rae being there the atmosphere was very calm and whatever I wanted to do she was more than willing to help me. Rae also helped create a very positive atmosphere and always saying how well I was doing.  Not only did she assist me she helped my husband with getting involved in making me comfortable, as well as getting involved with the whole birth process.  I would highly recommend Rae to anyone that is looking for a calm, educated and comforting person to help assist in the birth of their child.

Rae is a wonderful doula.  She was my doula for my second baby born in January 2010.  She is very professional, friendly, and open.  I wanted a natural birth using a specific method.  She was familiar with the method, and was supportive and open to my birth plan.  She visited me a couple times at my home, stayed with me through the birthing process, and visited a couple times afterward as well.  I even had a healing touch session with her, which was very relaxing.  She is knowledgable about available community resources, and she has a passion for what she does.  She is very involved with the nonprofit organization that she works with.  It was easy to communicate with her through email and phone, overall, Rae was very enjoyable to work with.

What a wonderful experience we had with Rae! She helped with our first boy Quinn when he was a newborn. She was such a GREAT help and was so comfortable and confident with him. I highly recommend her to anyone and you would be lucky to have her take care of your children. Another wonderful bonus is that she is a huge dog lover!
