Would 100% recommend Aubrey and Birth of Life Services! She performed my placenta encapsulation and was very professional and informative. She came to our home the day after giving birth and her warm energy and calmness was welcomed in such a special time.
We are so grateful that Aubrey has been our doula!
From day 1 of pregnancy, she has provided positive energy, professional support and loving encouragement for both me and my husband.
Her child birthing class was very thorough and gave us a greater sense of being prepared for the big day.
I love that there are never any "silly questions" with Aubrey. As a first time mama, I have learned such a great deal from her.
I highly recommend Aubrey and Birth of Life doula services!
Aubrey loves babies and birth and her excitement is contagious. I am an anxious person but Aubrey's upbeat attitude always manages to bounce joy into my soul. Her knowledge and passion for all things birth and babies were a huge source of comfort for me while I was pregnant and in labor. I knew she would have or be able to find an answer to any question I had. She is also an excellent support person for the post partum part of the mama journey. I cannot recommend her enough!
Aubrey entered our lives when I gave birth to my first child at age 50. She was the integral in teaching me healthy ways to feed, support, nurture and entertain her. Aubrey was truly life-saving when my baby was 4 months and quite colicky and fussy, Aubrey showed me ways to wear Martha and hold and support her that were integral to her comfort. Martha is nearly 4 and she considers Aubrey a second mom. She trusts her fully and is one of the few people I could imagine leaving her with for extended periods of time.
Aubrey's honest and transparent heart and wisdom from many years of child-care and child development experience make her the ultimate asset, BUT her ability to multi-task is what truly sets her apart. I have never seen anyone perform so many functions such as breast-feeding, preparing meals, cleaning up and being present on the floor playing and loving on children the way Aubrey does. She is a blessing to our family and any others she comes across.
Making the decision to have a Doula during my pregnancy and Labor and Delivery was probably the best decision I have ever made.
I decided to hire Aubrey as my doula because of one thing: I was very comfortable around her and so was my husband. I hired her as my doula near the middle of my second trimester. We immediately created my birth plan and figured out everything that I wanted and didn't want during my labor and delivery. One of my biggest wants from Aubrey was for her to not only support me but to support my husband. Aubrey followed up with my after all my prenatal visits, talked with my about my concerns relating to Braxton Hicks contractions and Prodominal Labor. My pitocin was started around 7:15-7:30. At 9am the Doctor came in, we discussed my birth plan and then she broke my water at 9:09am(I was 3-4 cm dilated). That is when my doula was truly needed. By 9:20am I was begging for pain medication (it was too late because I was 8 cm dilated). Aubrey helped me focus on breathing and did everything in her power to try and make me comfortable all while also trying to comfort my husband because he was having a hard time seeing me in that much pain. By 9:30am I demanded an epidural...the anesthesiologist didn't arrive until 9:45 and that's when I felt my body pushing. It was baby time. Aubrey helped me stay focused and calm...she was my rock...she made sure I kept breathing. The Doctor arrived sometime between 9:50-9:55am and it was time to push. Aubrey was there right by my side. At 10am my daughter was born.
If Aubrey hadn't been there, I am not sure that I could have done an all natural birth. My husband and I were beyond impressed and would recommend to anyone that hiring a doula is the way to go. I give Aubrey all the credit for helping me have the labor and delivery that I wanted, because without her, I think things would have been way more stressful and not have gone the way it did.
My family was blessed to have Aubrey present as our labor doula for the homebirth of my 3rd child. We primarily hired her to assist with the emotional support of our other children. She was amazingly present to the needs of not only our children, but also ours and my mother's. She flowed effortlessly and seamlessly within the days activities and cared for our children very lovingly. Our birth would not have been as amazing as it was without her present. She also managed to capture our most favorite photo from the entire experience! We will always have an immense gratitude for her presence during this transitional time in our lives.
