When I first mentioned the idea of a doula to my husband his reaction was "what the heck is that" and then "do we really need one?" We knew right away, after meeting with Drea in our home, that we wanted her by our side, supporting us as we took on all the unknowns of labor and delivery. Drea has a very calming, reassuring and comforting bedside manner. She immediately felt like an old friend, someone I could share my concerns with and someone who was going to encourage and motivate me to have the birth experience I envisioned for myself. Drea was the only other person in the delivery room, besides the hospital staff, on the day our baby was born and that provided us with such a peaceful experience- one I don't think would have been possible with a room full of family. Drea has a very positive, encouraging energy and she shared that with both my husband and I, truly making all the difference in this experience. We will never forget it.

My delivery was very lonnnng and it was so nice for Drea and my husband to be able to tag team so that I never felt alone and everyone kept their sanity. Once we got home with the baby, Drea came by to check in.. once again providing that sense of comfort we so needed in those early days, when everything is new and downright scary. We cannot thank Drea enough for the crucial role she played and cannot wait to do it all again with baby #2!

Drea was amazing and a God sent! We wanted to have a natural childbirth and was in fear that we were going to be pressured to give into medical intervention so we decided to find a doula. Drea was that one person that i could depend on to really keep me calm prior to going into labor. She always responded to my text messages in a timely manner with real insight. The day i went into labor she was the first person i called when i was not sure if my water broke that is the time of bond we created from the beginning. I truly trusted her and felt we were friends too. We had a plan for when it was game time that my husband, Drea and I all agreed on, so when it was game time Drea was there! We completed the Bradley Method courses and knew we wanted to stay home as long as possible for labor. Drea came right when my husband called and was there ready to jump in. She was that extra set of hands in the labor process. i had back labor so that can be pretty exhausting for my husband(coach), and Drea offered relief for him and comfort to me! Drea was so calm and so attentive.. not to mention she was prepared for the details i was not prepared for. To top it all off, she took amazing pictures that we will cherish for a lifetime! She was my cheerleader, and such a support for us that made our birthing experience exactly what we desired. Our son was born naturally with no medicial intervention or meds. At the end of the day, that is a TEAM effort!!! If we are blessed with another miracle, Drea will definitely be my #1 choice for my doula.
