I originally found Stacy by describing to my midwife what my ideal doula would be like, and that was someone who would be intuitive and caring, someone that is cool and down to earth, and also someone who would also give me the tough love when I needed it. My midwife thought of Stacy right away. We knew we wanted to hire Stacy after our first meeting and didn't even want to interview anyone else.

Stacy was absolutely amazing, and I am so glad we chose her to be apart of our pregnancy journey and in my birth space. Our preparation meetings with her were valuable, and she made us feel supported the whole way. Her responses to questions and updates were always thoughtful and engaging.

When it came to my birth, she did an amazing job at being intuitive to what I needed, whether that be motivating words or reminding me to relax. She was right by my head and while I squeezed her hands as I pushed out my son. She also helped support my first latches for breastfeeding. Her value was incredible to us.

She is extremely supportive and open minded. Also a really cool human you'll want to be friends with.

It's hard to find the words to describe the peace, comfort, and steadiness Stacy brought to our family leading up to, during, and after the birth of our first daughter. My pregnancy was high risk from the start, and I struggled to find a doula who could speak to our wants and needs for our family (especially given we had our daughter at the height of the global pandemic). I had interviewed 7 doulas and was about the give up, but the moment I met Stacy, I knew! Our initial conversations left my husband and I high-fiving, saying "we've got this!" When the plans continued to grow and evolve, and our daughter had to be brought into the world 3 weeks early, the panic set in. Stacy helped guide us through the best decision for our family. She brought calm, peace, and reassurance to us in the moment our daughter was born, and we are incredibly grateful for the space (mentally, physically, and emotionally) she created for us. Stacy's attention to detail and care brought us confidently through the postpartum period as well! I can't recommend her enough! We hope to have more children, and Stacy will be a part of our growing family for many years to come!

From the moment we met Stacy, I knew she would be a perfect third addition to our birth team. She helped me and my husband prenatally understand how to prepare my body, our minds, and our nerves for the big event. Going into it, I felt totally supported and empowered. I ended up needing a last-minute C-section, but Stacy was still by our side every step of the way. She helped us process and come to peace with a complete change in our birth plan at a moment's notice. And after our daughter arrived, she has been so wonderfully checking in on our overall health - physically and mentally :)

I never want to give birth without Stacy. Best decision we made hands down. 15/10 would recommend!!

So thankful for Stacy

I’m so glad we found Stacy. She was professional and warm from start to finish. She gave good advice, asked great questions, and sent us to excellent resources in our prep for delivery and for our post-partum journey. Her presence in the delivery room was an integral one. I felt so empowered and supported by her- I will definitely want her there if I have more children. After having a very difficult first delivery, my second labor was so much more peaceful and powerful, and Stacy is a huge part of that. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to give birth in a supportive and empowering environment.

??????????When I found out I was pregnant, I was pretty scared about giving birth. My partner and I decided to get a doula for extra support during labor- I am so thankful we did! Stacy was beyond amazing, reliable and professional. I went into labor around 1am and Stacy answered my husbands call, and was ready to head to the hospital. During labor, I couldn’t even talk, Stacy was practically reading my mind, and she knew what to do/ what I needed when I didn’t! I felt so safe knowing she was there, she was so calm, collected and positive. I recommend Stacy to anyone who is wanting to do a natural birth, or to anyone who is giving birth. The support was unreal! After birth, she made sure my family and I were situated, and even checked up on me post hospital. I love you Stacy!

I cannot say enough great things about Stacy. I rave about her to everyone and highly recommend her to anyone who is looking to feel empowered to have the birth they want.

Right from the start Stacy helped us make educated decisions by providing unbiased research on topics and giving us insight on how other parents approached these decisions. Stacy also pushed us to think/talk about different situations we hadn’t discussed yet, what our plan of action would be and what kind of support we may need.

I had a pretty easy birth, almost entirely at home, and even though Stacy wasn’t physically with us until later, I felt she was with me the whole time. We texted back and forth as I progressed through labor, and she reminded me to trust my body and let it do its work. Once I could no longer text, she gave my husband the support he needed to support me. When things got intense, my husband and I both felt confident and in control because we had Stacy behind us.

Once we got to the birth center, Stacy was right there to help me get into a good pushing position and take pictures and video for us. Our son came pretty quick, before the rest of our planned support team could make it, so without Stacy we would not have been able to capture those amazing moments. And it was Stacy who taught me how to breastfeed. Since birth, Stacy has continued to offer her support by answering tons of questions, giving me tips and encouraging me. She is super knowledgeable and well connected to the STL community, there hasn't been a question or request for a recommendation that she couldn't answer.

When I tell people my birth story, some say “Well I guess you didn't need a doula afterall.” Nothing could be further from the truth. Stacy was a true source of peace and calm throughout my pregnancy, labor and journey into motherhood, and I credit her with helping me find balance and happiness during a time of change and chaos.

I have sat down to write this several times. Every time I just stare at the computer screen because I am at a loss on how to fully communicate my gratitude to Stacy Helm for walking beside us during our pregnancy and birth journey.

I am a first time mom and the one thing I knew after we got pregnant is that I wanted a natural birth. I remained active, bounced on my yoga ball, did all the yoga classes, sought chiropractic care all so that we would have the smoothest labor possible. Stacy was always there to encourage, to answer questions, and to simply be the best support she could be.

In my perfect world, my water would break, my contractions would become stronger, we would call Stacy, and meet at the Mercy Birthing Center. That was not the case. Our son ended up being in the Posterior position, which caused back labor, my labor to start and stop instead of developing rhythmically, and my early labor to ultimately last about 96 hours. The last full day, I couldn't keep anything down, water or food. So instead of Stacy meeting us at the hospital, she came to our home.

Stacy helped me through contractions, and tried everything to get baby boy to spin. She was our rock and our sense of peace through out our labor. She guided my husband and gave a sense of security and empowerment. We were even able to have a natural birth when I thought I didn't have anything left to give. I credit it all to Stacy. Without her support, we would have thrown in the towel.

I would recommend Stacy Helm to ANYONE who is searching for a doula, ESPECIALLY first time mothers hoping for a natural birth. She will encourage you, empower, and guide you as little or as much as you would like. THANK YOU STACY FOR MAKING OUR STORY SO SPECIAL. We wouldn't have it any other way.

Stacy was outstanding. She has such a warm and friendly personality that helped me immediately know that she would be a great doula. My husband said that it was the best money we spent. When things didn't go according to plan, she was a great support to him and myself. Definitely recommend!

We were a little last minute on finding a Doula for our first birth. I was due on 11/14, we met with Stacy on 10/28. We loved her right away and hired her on the spot. Thank goodness we did because baby decided to come on 11/1. Stacy was readily available, answering my texts (even some gross pics of my bloody show which we then decided it was enough blood to be a little concerned so I headed to the hospital). She arrived shortly after we did and about 10 hours later we had an amazing, natural birth. Stacy was completely calm throughout the entire process. She never interfered too much but she was here anytime we needed something. My husband was grateful to have her there too to help him out when he needed it. I would absol recommend Stacy and couldn’t be happier with my birth experience.

Having Stacy as our doula was one of the best decisions we made regarding our birth experience. From the very first meeting, we instantly clicked and I knew she was exactly what I was looking for in a doula: warm, compassionate, kind and nuturing. Stacy led us through all of our birth options, making us first-time parents feel supported and understood througout the entire process. The day of labor was very intense and emotional and Stacy was beside me the entire time, making me feel cared for, calming my fears and assisting me through each contraction. Even when plans changed, Stacy was there the whole time, continuing her love and support of my birthing experience. I can't say enough good things about our time together, highly recommend!
