I believe that every little one deserves a loving, culturally-safe and dignified entry into this world. My work as a birth doula is to ensure that Indigenous families, mothers and parents, receive culturally-relevant, decolonial and respectful care in their birth experience. My goal is to support you and your specific changing needs, at your time of birth. In 2016, I completed my in-course DONA certified training. When I first found out I was pregnant, my wife and I knew we wanted a doula. It was important that we had an Aboriginal Doula in order to have cultural support. After a lot of searching we were connected with Erynne. Throughout the pregnancy Erynne attended prenatal classes and midwife appointments as support. During our labour Erynne was a grounded presence at our home birth. She has a special ability of being the right amount of support at the right times. She prayed in her traditional language and smudged, offering the cultural piece that was important for us to have. On top of all her emotional and cultural support, she took photos that really captured the magic of the day. We are truly grateful for Erynne and have already recommended her to other mom’s to be!
