Molly is experienced, professional, and a wonderful doula. She is patient, kind, and honest. A warm and comforting presence to hold space for you during a transformative moment in your life.
I highly respect Molly as my doula, as a fellow birth profesional, and as a friend. She provided support, information, physical comfort, massage, and references for me during my second birth. She is amazing!!
Molly was the perfect addition to our birth team. It was so fun to build a relationship with her during the pregnancy. She saved us money and time by helping us guage when to go to the hospital. She was very knowledgeable about the local hospital policies and OBGYNs and helped us create a birth plan tailored to our needs and desires. Molly helped me work through my previous traumatic birth experience and helped empower me to have the healing-redemptive birth I hoped for. My husband and I could not ask for a better experience then the one we had with Molly.
Molly was everything I needed in a doula and more during the pregnancy and birth of my son! I had a very traumatic birth experience 2 years prior, so when I became pregnant again, I was very fearful! Molly helped me work through my fears and reservations and provided me with a listening ear, unconditional support, and external resources to prepare me for the best birth experience possible.
When we went into labor 5 weeks early, Molly was a rock and a calming influence during the chaos. Her understanding, support, and comforting touch during my labor gave my husband (the best birth coach ever!) and me just what we needed to focus on the goal. And when my gut instinct called for a c-section, she continued her amazing steady support without judgment.
Molly's vast experience the birth community, along with her knowledge and training, and her calming, comforting personality makes her a fantastic doula. I highly recommend her services no matter the birth experience you're looking for - she can be there to provide amazing, unconditional, nonjudgmental support.
I highly recommend Molly. Not only is she professional and warm, you can feel confident as soon as you meet her that you are in good hands. I was very interested in accomplishing a natural birth but I had doubts about handling the pain. Molly addressed so many issues I hadn't even considered, which led up to my confidence building and with her help, I did it. Total care, patient education, professional, helpful, experienced... All these describe what you can expect with Molly.
Molly helped us have a successful VBAC. I was scared but she calmed my fears knowing that I could birth naturally. She also gave us good information about the doctors I saw and the midwife I was seeing. Molly helped us interpret what the midwife and the doctors said when we didn't understand or were frustrated.
She was a joy and delight to work with and made us feel like we were in charge of our birth.
Molly is a wonderful doula. She was also my midwifery assistant and attended many births with me. She was invaluable and so wonderful with my clients. So wonderful in fact, that I asked her to be my doula at the birth of my own child. She is present, loving, supportive and so very knowledgeable. I recommend her to everyone looking for a doula.
It had been 10 years since my last pregnancy, so I was going at this like a new mom. I met Molly when I was maybe 5-6 months pregnant through a friend of mine. Molly quick became a good friend and really helped me to understand my body and my pregnancy. And it wasn't an easy one. Even if I had questions or fears at 3 am, she would calm me. She even reassured me about breastfeeding, which I was very nervous about as I had a horrible experience 10 years prior.
Finally the day came for the pumpkin to be born. I had my regularly scheduled prenatal appointment earlier that morning. I hit exactly 40 weeks! (This was a first! My other babies were born between 32-38 weeks). I went home, and texted Molly that I wasn't feeling well. She told me to eat something and try to nap. So I did, until the pain became more frequent. I called her and because I am clueless as to what contractions felt like or even how to count them, she told me to come over to her house and she will monitor me. So she monitored me from 3pm(ish) until about 8 or 9pm. when she got me checked into the hospital and continued monitoring me. She drew me a warm bath to help ease my pain and called my midwife to have her prevent the hospital from making me go home. She held my hand and calmly talked to me and got me to focus on pushing out the minion.
After baby was born, it was Molly that discovered the tongue and upper lip ties, not the pediatrician! She even guided me to the doctor that removed the ties. She has become a part of my family and even to this day, 7 months later, gladly answers any developmental questions I have in regards to the mini me. And she is the one that gave me the confidence that I could breastfeed my babe successfully and I never needed a lactation consultant due to her advice. She has helped my little family so much! I plan to use her for all future pregnancies!
Words can't describe the experience we had with Molly. She went out of her way to get to know us and help. Our birth experience was also very positive. Molly was able to guide my husband and myself through a few points in the labor where it was really tough. I can now say she's a close friend and I'm grateful to know her!
I have known Molly for over 8 years now. I didn't know what a doula was and what exactly they did but I knew that she had a lot of knowledge and can give me a lot of support when it came to give birth to my child so when it came time for me to have my child I knew I would want her right there with me. I didn't fully understand how much I actually needed her until I was in labor at the hospital. she gave me the support and confidence I needed to get through the toughest part of the labor. she coached my husband , she coached myself, she answered every question we possibly had, whether it was about raising our child, medication, education, diapers, you name it. we ask the questions and she steered us in the right direction. she was the perfect Support roll we needed for our child and for our labor. when we go to have another child she is the person we will call. I would recommend Molly to anyone out there who is going to have a child. You will not be disappointed!!
I told Dominic to call the Doula, she arrived a little after 1030 pm and assured me that this was in fact for real. I labored on the living room floor for a good hour until the contractions became 3-5 minutes and then we headed to the bath tub. It seemed as if my husband forgot everything he had learned, I thank GOD for Molly! I put myself in a trance; due to that Dominic will be finishing off the birth story of Mateo Louis Valle. Dominic: We arrived at the birth care center around 230am, had she not progressed a CM an hour we would have left but she was moving at average pace. For approx 5 1/2 hours we moved around the room to ease the baby into the canal and to release some pain. It was very tough for natalie but she stuck through it all. It was frustraing for her because for about the last hour and half she would push and the baby would crown but she would lose either energy first of contraction would go away. They eventually brought out the mirror so that she could see that she was making progess, cause she kept syaing "I'm gonna quit I'm not making progess" but after she saw in fact that she was the eye of the tiger came out. She was down to her last contraction as the doctors were saying that if he didnt come out on this contraction an assited delivery would be nessary because babys heart rate was dropping. I'm not sure if she heard that but she gave every ounce of will and power she had to get him through, of course everyone was in the room hollaring and cheering her on yelling push you can do it breath come come natalie, and at this point Im in the back jumping up and down with camcprder shedding tears " yelling get your son out baby" and with one last Hoooough out came our little baby boy and applause followed. We couldn't have done this without our doula's patient touch and encouraging words. She is a god sent and I would not want any other person in the delivery room with my family. Thank you Molly Stephenson!
Molly helped me achieve the VBAC birth that I wanted in May 2010. She was warm and supportive. Molly is very knowledgable about positioning, which helped me get my son moved into a good position for birth. She also helped me work through my doubts and my fears stemming from my first son's birth (which was long and difficult.) She helped me to stay in the moment so that I could cope with labor. I was able to labor at "home" (actually a hotel near the hospital) for 25 hours out of my 28 hour labor.) That was the key to getting the vaginal birth that I wanted. In addition, she is just a fun and sweet person. I couldn't recommend her more!
