My experience with Carli was exceptional. My wife and I had to transfer from a birth center to the hospital because of some complications. I was very sick with food poinsoning, and Carli was so so helpful in making sure my wife was okay, that our birth plan was followed at the hospital, and that I was taken care of and where I wanted to be according to our birth plan. She was super helpful pre-birth with education, helping us make our birth plan, and making sure we were setup for success postpartum. I couldn't recommend her enough!

Willow Tree Doula Services (specifically Carli) was a pivotal addition to our birth team. She helped us prepare for our desired birth scenario and alternative outcomes that otherwise go unplanned. Thank God we did this because we ended up having to completely alter our plan and Carli was with us every step of the way counseling through the birth process of a C Section and first feedings. We fully expect to use Willow Tree again with our next baby.

Carli was incredible to work with! The prep work she took us through leading up to the birth gave us a lot of comfort and confidence as the big day drew near. But where she truly shined was during the labor and delivery. I struggled through back labor and the only bit of relief was when I labored in the shower for three hours and Carli never left my side - she shifted the water spout as I moved positions through every single contraction for those full three hours. She provided vital encouragement and kept me hydrated. Additionally, she helped guide my husband through various labor positions. My husband was so much more relaxed and present throughout the entire 32hr labor because of Carli.
As I neared the end and was pushing my baby, Carli's encouragement was what kept me focused. I was losing steam and losing focus as I went into the final hour of pushing. I was completely gassed and the pressure was becoming unbearable. Carli locked in on me and said "the only way to the other side is to go right through it." That was exactly what I needed to hear at that moment and it is what got me to the moment of pushing my baby boy out into the world. 
Additionally, Carli was huge in helping my birth team in the hospital stay aligned to my birth plan.
Thank you, Carli, for being a HUGE part of my incredible labor and delivery experience. I can't imagine it any other way, and if I could do it all again I'd hire you every single time!!

We loved Carli! This was my first birth experience and it couldn't have gone any better. Carli arrived at the hospital at just the right time and immediately stepped in and helped me get comfortable and truly guided the rest of my labor. This was one of the absolute best decisions I made regarding my birth. An absolute must for anyone but especially a first time mom, and especially a first time mom going unmedicated. She is so understanding, easy to talk to, and such a huge help before, during and after delivery. She covered all aspects of labor and delivery, but also was a huge help with breast-feeding, postpartum questions and new mom baby help! I regret not getting the Deluxe Package. I will be using her again with my next baby! If you're on the fence about a doula- JUST DO IT- and go with Willow Tree!

Long story short we are so happy that we hired Carli, she was honest, trustworthy, intelligent, and was there for us anytime of day. Carli supported the delivery of both our girls in 2021 and, most recently, in 2023. Our most recent experience was everything we hoped for and more. When people ask me how I would describe our baby's birth the one word that comes to mind is peaceful. We had a hospital birth with minimal interventions and Carli worked in unison with our midwife (who she already new from her longstanding experience). Carli brings her calm, wisdom, and humor to create the best experience and I can't imagine a better birth team support! Forever grateful.

Carli was our first doula and we’ll never go anywhere else for our future births! She is so knowledgeable in a wide range of topics, some I never even knew I needed to know about. Carli supports your birth wishes, and when natural birth is the goal, has a wonderfully balanced philosophy that encourages natural and also accepts science and research backed medicine when necessary. Prenatally, she gave me so much confidence in expressing my wishes to my doctor and preparing us all for the birth I wanted. During my birth, she was hands on in the perfect way for my personality and left room for my husband to play the role he fit naturally. Carli advocated for my wishes and reminded me of items on my birth plan that helped me get such an amazing birth. I will recommend her to everyone interested in a doula as a part of their birth team!

Carli was instramental in helping me achieve the labor and birth that I desired. Even though I had already given birth once before she did a great job preparing and re-educating my husband and I about the birth process. She taught us so many new tricks and tips to help aid in the process of labor and delivery. Labor and delivery are hard work and without Carli's support and encouragement I would not have been able to achieve all the hopes and wishs for my birth.

Carli has been our doula for the births of both of our sons. We can't imagine going through the birthing process without her.  She is such a wonderful coach. She helped us prepare for our birth experience. She taught us how to advocate for ourselves. She helped me breathe and stay calm. She helped my husband feel empowered by equipping him to know how to be helpful. She captured pictures and helped us initiate breastfeeding. She checked on us afterwards and visited our home. Before, during, and after she was such a support. We highly recommend her to all expectant parents that we know. You'll love her like we do!

Carli was a life saver for me during my last pregnancy!! Carli has been my doula twice (for 2nd and 3rd pregnancies) and I love her. We had a totally unexpected and difficult birth and Carli was a huge support. I do not know what I would have done without her. She checked in with me and gave me advice during my pregnancy especially as I went past my due date. Then my epidural did not work and I was in a lot of pain for my induction. She helped me to relax and breathe through the pain and to endure. My son was born and he was struggling to breathe and Carli continued to help encourage me through that. I’m so thankful that God used her to comfort me through a difficult time especially after having 2 normal births.

At first, I wasn't sure we were going to use a doula, but I'm sure thankful we did.  Carli was so helpful in preparing us and teaching us about the birth experience.  We were new to that adventure and she was able to help educate us and be an amazing support to us during the process.  It was so helpful for her to be there as she was so calm and insightful.  She was able to help us make decisions beforehand regarding the plan as well as decisions in the moment that helped me feel in control and at peace even in pain.  I'm so thankful that she was able to be part of our experience.  Thank you, Carli!

I would never want to have a baby without Carli's help. Carli has assisted with the birth of both of our beautiful girls. My labors are long, but she stuck it out both times and was a wonderful encouragment to me and my husband.

This time we also rented the tens unit that is available to her clients. I highly recommend using this too! It really helped make my very intense contractions more manageable. 

If you're looking for a wonderful and knowledgeable doula who will support and respect your choices,Carli is a wonderful choice!

Carli was an incredible asset to our first son’s birth day. My wife was in the hospital for 24 hours before the birth. It was a long day. Carli was a strong presence and helpful guide. About each hour she suggested a new task, which helped keep the day and process moving forward. She was a source of optimism and relief, knowledge and confidence, and just an overall stabilizing force in the room. She promoted our interests and preferences in the hospital room. All day, Carli was one step ahead and anticipated the most likely next phase of the day.

Between the work of my wife, Carli, the nurses, and our midwife, I have an enlightened respect for the energy, power, and intuition that women and mothers have. Aside from the obvious joy of welcoming my son to the world, it was a powerful experience to be in the room with this community of women. My wife and I will certainly be calling Carli for our next births.

We LOVE Carli, are so thankful she was by our side for birthing our first baby and highly recommend her to any family prepping for birth! In my eyes, Carli is a necessity for your birth for mother as well as father (or birthing partner)!

Pre-birth, my husband and I had a lot of questions and she took the time to thoughtfully answer our questions, educate us on what to expect as well as advise us on how to move forward with various recommendations. A great communicator, Carli responds in a timely manner to questions, texts and calls. During birth, there are so many unknowns and Carli brings knowledge and skills for birthing, but beyond that she is patient, attentive, positive but realistic, and her calming presence gave me peace throughout our 33 hour unmedicated-turned-medicated-turned-CSection delivery. She was able to translate what medical options we had to help us think through each decision every step of the way (both pre-delivery and during the changing delivery plans), and had our preferences at the forefront of decision making.

Post birth, she continued to be a positive support emotionally and physically to us. In addition, her support and advisement with breastfeeding put us on a path where we could get the support we needed to exclusively breastfeed! If there is one thing you focus your resources to in prepping for baby, put it towards hiring Carli!

My husband and I were not sure we “needed” a doula, as we were both very open-minded to our various options and we weren’t fixated on a specific idea of what our birth process would look like. I am so glad we decided to explore having a doula join our care team, and Carli was the perfect fit for us. It was so helpful to have someone so knowledgeable help explain what different scenarios may be like, and she had zero judgement regarding my preferences and wishes. It was important to me to have a support person outside of our immediate family to partner with my husband and I, and who could be there for us exactly how we needed. Carli fit this need perfectly. I felt such a sense of reassurance and comfort that having Carli as our doula would make the remainder of our journey less daunting. When we found out I had a placenta complication that would require a C-section, Carli was still able to provide incredible support. She looked into placenta previa to learn more about it so she could best support me, and she played a key role the day of delivery and in the postpartum weeks to follow. Our breastfeeding experience improved with Carli’s help as well, and again I felt a sense of peace that I had her to call or text for information and guidance. We’ll always be so grateful to Carli and the care she brought to this experience for us. Thank you, Carli!

Carli was amazing! This was my first birth experience and I'm so glad we decided to have Carli as our Doula. She helped me stay calm when at times I wanted to lose it. She was very aware of our birth plan and made sure to pay attention to things going on in the room and inform my husband before things happened so that our wishes were followed. She also got great photos for me while still being right there to support me. We will definitely use Carli again for any future children. I don't know what I would have done without her!

We had a fantastic experience with Carli as our doula! As first time parents we were overwhelmed and unsure of what to expect with the birth and delivery of our child. Finding Carli and Willow Tree Doula was the best decision we could’ve made. Her guidance and expertise made everything easier to understand and certainly helped ease my wife’s anxiety (and mine) about the whole process. Carli was extremely nice and easy to work with and as a dad I appreciated having someone else in the delivery room who knew what our goals and wishes were for our birth plan. She came out to our house multiple times before and after birth and made sure we were confident and ready for our little miracle! I couldn’t imagine not using her again if we have another child someday. She captured some great photos and moments during birth that we will cherish forever!

As a first time father, I was extremely anxious, nervous, and overwhelmed with the idea of welcoming a baby boy into the world.  I had so many questions and concerns in regards to how and what I should be preparing for when that special moment occurred.  Several family members and close friends attempted to do their best to share knowledge from their experiences, but nothing prepared us more than working with Carli and Willow Tree.  Her vast knowledge and commitment towards building a plan around our wants and needs put us in the best position to be prepared and ready to welcome the newest addition to our family.  Carli was extremely professional with her communication and organization, but more importantly she made a commitment to earn our trust and build a valuable relationship.  Her efforts will never be forgotten and I would recommend her services to anyone having a child in the near future.

We are first-time parents in our 40s. We barely understood the role of a doula when we started getting recommendations to have one. My partner and I interviewed a couple women and he told me to choose whom I felt most connected to, and that was Carli.

Seven weeks postpartum, we still can't stop talking about how, without her, our birth experience would have been so much more daunting, confusing, and scary. We still talk about all the time she selflessly gave to us before and after birth. It is truly evident  how much she loves what she does, roots for her clients, and wants them to feel comfortable with every decision made.

Carli was ready to show up at our bedside on Halloween when I went into labor. From the jump I looked to her before making any decisions and asked her to clarify and talk through every stage with me. She took care of me, she took care of my partner, and she helped him take care of me. She put my hair in a pony tail, she held my hand, she encouraged me. These acts seem so small, but they are the things I remember. She helped my son latch for the first time, she held him up to my cheek after my c- section and she came to see us at home when I was struggling greatly in the first week. 

Birth can be traumatic in so many ways, but having the constant of one person in the room, on your side, for the whole experience makes all the difference. Carli came for one last visit a couple weeks postpartum, and it was like I was talking to my friend. I can't say enough what her time and presence meant to me. She is forever a part of our birth story.

My husband and I found Carli through a friend of mine that used her. This was my first pregnancy, and as an ICU nurse, I had a lot of anxieties around my birth. I knew too much about things that go wrong. But Carli was exactly what I needed. Her prenatal visits reassured me and gave me the knowledge Joey and I needed to go into the hospital confidently. I know how to deal with doctors, so I felt comfortable denying or accepting certain treatments, but once I was 10 cm dilated, it was Carli that advocated that I wait to push to allow the baby to slide down more on her own (I had an epidural). She gave us options that I didn’t even know we had. That hour before pushing that I had with my mom, husband, and Carli was one of the most peaceful times in my life. It gave me the strength to finish giving birth and all the chaos that came after. I was scared that the birthing process would scare me off from ever wanting one again. I didn’t want to be traumatized. But Carli made sure that my experience would be one that I would be willing to have again. Thanks for listening and catering to my specific needs, Carli! I highly recommend her!

Where to even begin! We were SO lucky to have Carli support and guide us throughout this wild journey in bringing our little baby boy on to this planet! After the exciting news of finding out we were pregnant, anxiety kicked in as I had no idea how to navigate through this journey as both my husband and I are from Europe. We were introduced to Carli by a mutual friend and let me tell you it was the best decision ever! From explaining all birth options and guiding me throughout my 'birth plan wishes'( which I didn't even knew I had)  and eventually supporting both me and my husband throughout every contraction in the hospital ( I especially loved how she made my husband feel so included + Carli knew exactly when and where she had to jump in and help me through these pains when my husband coudn't). After we brought our baby home Carli checked in both over text and in person to follow up on (breast)feeding, share some tips/tricks and advice and just to hang out and cuddle with our boy. 

Because of Carli we felt educated, empowered and supported. When the medical staff proposed certain interventions she was able to help us understand the pro's and cons so we could make all decisions ourselves and weigh out risks and benefits. I truly believe that my labor and delivery experience wouldn't have been this amazing if she hadn't been part of my team. I will forever be grateful for all her work and would hire her over and over again + will refer her to anyone who is willing to listen. Thank you Carli!!!

This was my first doula experience and it was absolutely amazing and I have nothing negative to say. Carli is so kind and warm and was just so fantastic in the delivery room. She was a great advocate for me, which something I struggle with. She was a great physical and emotional support during labor and delivery. I could not have achieved my goal of an unmedicated birth without her. She helped me to establish breastfeeding without a shield, which was very important to me. As soon as she left after baby was born, my husband said “she was so worth the money.” I will definitely be using her as a doula again if I birth any more babies.

Carli is an INCREDIBLE doula. I’m a planner by nature and she helped me feel prepared for what to expect. Even when we had to shift plans from a natural birth to a scheduled c-section she walked me through what to expect. Her calming demeanor and practical knowledge was exactly what we needed. Carli (with our blessing) also prayed for us before going to the O.R. and helped make it a calming birth experience.

I am also forever grateful for her help postpartum with breastfeeding. I HIGHLY recommend Carli and if we have any future children I will absolutely be calling on her services again.

Carli was so wonderful to work with, especially as a first time mom! My husband didn't understand why we needed a doula, especially for the added cost, but in the end he was beyond thankful we had Carli there every step of the way. I think having Carli as our doula allowed my husband to be more present and supportive with me. As a first time mom, I was not sure what to expect and even nervous about the birthing process. Because of this, my husband and I knew we wanted a doula, and Carli was highly recommended from a friend. Having Carli as part of the birthing experience was one of the best decisions we made. Doctor appointments and even birthing classes can leave you feeling unprepared or lacking, but the prenatal sessions with Carli made me feel confident and less anxious about what was yet to come. During the laboring process, Carli was super supportive to both me and my husband, and I attribute the smoothness of the whole process to her. I went from being terrified for labor and delivery to it actually being my favorite part of the whole experience! Carli is a knowledgable, caring, and down-to-earth person which I think makes her a wonderful doula. We are so grateful to have had Carli accompany us in this experience and in our lives.

Carli has been our doula for two births so far and we couldn't be happier having her by our side for those experiences! We were planning on having our second son at the Sacred Roots Birth Center (where our first son was born) but labor progressed so quickly that he was born at home. Carli was the first of our birth team to arrive at our house just as I started pushing. She remained calm and professional throughout, which helped to keep us calm and focused. She reminded me to do things that helped during my first labor and helped soothe me through contractions and pushes. Although the midwife was en route, she recommended did call the paramedics to come, just in case. Carli was very encouraging and stayed with me the entire time since my husband had to coordinate everyone's arrivals. We did not want to go to the hospital and Carli helped to re-iterate that to the paramedics until the midwife arrived. Carli and the paramedic helped deliver our baby's head just as the midwife arrived to help the rest of him out! She stayed with us for several hours after birth to provide support and then checked in regularly post-partum to make sure all was well. Our postpartum visit was full of laughter and smiles as we recalled all the details of our accidental home birth. The birth timeline she provides is a wonderful document to have for now and to share with your child when they are older. We love the relationship we have cultivated with Carli and are so thankful to have her in our lives and as an integral part of the births of our sons!

Choosing Carli as our doula, as first time parents, was one of the best decisions I've made during my pregnancy journey. Upon interviewing her, I knew her and I would work great together from the start. Carli's warm personality and calming energy was exactly what I was looking for. The prenatal meetings allowed us all to get to know each other and for my husband and I to understand some things that we were unaware of. She has a plethora of knowledge and experience that ultimately helped us prepare for any birth scenario. When I was scheduled for a Monday morning induction (not in my original plan), Carli was sure to spend a long phonecall with me that Friday to detail what to expect, what we may deal with, and what options we had. I was a bit defeated but she remained optimistic, telling me she was still hopeful this babe would come on their own. Sure enough, I went into labor that evening! Carli was quick to respond to my middle of the night texts, reassurring me and cheering me on as I labored at home for several hours. When we met at the hospital, her gentle touch and calming affirmations were exactly what I needed. She dove into action in such a loving and familial way and I embraced it. Even with an epidural, Carli was incredibly useful and creative in positioning techniques to help my babe move on through. It was a relief and comfort to have her by my side through each phase of labor. She was a great presence to have in the room for my husband and I, being another person we could bounce questions and ideas off of. She really felt like family and it was so nice to know she was there for us. Carli truly cares about her clients and it shows in every way. I look forward to having her around for the next little one!

When I found out I was pregnant, I knew immediately I wanted a low intervention birth. I opted for midwifery care through St. Vincent and knew I wanted a doula. My husband and I are first time parents and had no idea what to expect. Carli was recommended in a mom's group to us. She was prompt in reaching out to set a meeting and very informative in sessions leading up to birth. She helped us create a birth plan, packing list, and be prepared the best we could.

We expected our "plan" to not go exactly as expected. After all, it is birth. However, no one could prepare us for the birth experience we had and we could not have done it without Carli. I had a 40 hour labor with 5.5 hours of pushing and I am convinced if we didn't have Carli and a good medical team I would have ended up with a cesarean. Carli supported me in several hours of back labor without an epidural with various techniques to manage the pain and when I opted for an epidural, she continued to assist my labor by changing positions. She made sure we understood each procedure and their risks, and was there to encourage us to make decisions that we felt comfortable with. When it came to pushing, she was a huge supporter and my care team LOVED her.

Our birth ended with many things I wanted to avoid and our baby being cared for by the NICU team, but Carli was an incredible emotional support before, during, and after birth. Our birth story may not be anything we could have ever imagined but we know hiring Carli was the best decision we made.  My husband was on the fence about a doula due to the expense and now he can't picture our birth story without her. She became like family and we will make sure our little guy knows all about her!

Wow, where can I start?

If you want to work with a professional who truly listens to you and provides expert guidance-choose Carli!  After a traumatic and difficult first time birth experience, I sought a local doula who would help me have the best experience I could for my second child's arrival. There are no guarantees when going into labor, but you do the best with what you are dealt in your unique situation moment to moment.  No birth is alike. Carli is a mom of 5 and has been there and attended many births which is important to me. She is kind, compassionate, patient, and has a great sense of humor.  I would wholeheartedly recommend her to my closest friends. Through this experience I have been blessed to become friends with her as well. I truly hope that you seriously consider hiring her for your doula needs. She is a treasure.

My husband and I waffled back and forth about hiring a doula. After having Carli at our side for our first birth, I can confidently say we made a fantastic choice. Carli is a friendly, faith-filled woman with a heart for helping families.

We found ourselves at the hospital when I was a whopping 1cm dilated after my water broke, having no idea how hard it would be to think clearly during labor. Carli didn't have to come so early on, but she did. She assisted us in making informed decisions about using Cytotec and Pitocin to speed up labor. She didn't pressure us one way or the other, but gave us with facts so we could make a comfortable decision. When my contractions got more intense, she swooped in with pain management techniques and tips on how to keep labor progressing. She was a steady companion as we walked the halls, did lunges, rocked and swayed, and helped labor progress when I was sitting up. Most helpful of all was when I was 9.5cm dilated and 98% effaced. Carli helped me into a side-lying position for a few final contractions. When the time came to push, her voice and my husband's voice were the only ones I could hear. 30-45 minutes later, our daughter was born, with our birth goals met!

Carli is also a breastfeeding guru! Before birth, she taught us what a correct latch looks like and how to tell if our baby was getting enough nutrients. She helped our baby latch from the moment she was put on my chest! At our postpartum visit, she offered suggestions to lessen soreness and pain during the first weeks of breastfeeding. As our baby has grown, Carli has offered ideas on new positions to try to help me maintain my breastfeeding success.

Carli went above and beyond her call of duty by acting as emotional, physical, and intellectual support. We are so blessed to have not only her expertise but also her friendship. If you are in the same boat wondering if getting a doula is "worth it," hesitate no more! Carli is a terrific choice!

From the very beginning, Carli was super responsive and on it. I didn't have too many questions for her during pregnancy, but she would check in and she always made sure I knew she was available to me. When I finally went into labor and texted her in the wee hours of the morning, she responded right away and when we went to the hospital, she met us there soon after. From our prenatal meetings, I felt very comfortable with Carli and could tell that she is a very calm and competent person (just the kind of women you want with you while in labor) and she lived up to my expectations. She helped my husband and I with pain management strategies to get me through some difficult back labor (since I didn't want an epidural or any pain medication) and was very hands-on in helping me physically. Her affirmations that I was doing well and could get through it were key at a few points when I wanted to give up. Finally, she helped me figure out different positions to move labor along and help me to fully efface so that I could be ready to push. All in all, even though my birth experience was quite difficult and painful, it was ultimately wholly positive in large part because of Carli's help!

My labor with my first born was fast and terrifying. When I got pregnant again, I knew that I wanted my labor to be a more positive experience. It wasn't until later in my pregnancy (34 weeks) that our baby classes mentioned a doula and I knew that this was exactly what I needed. 

It was a little bit of a nail-biting experience trying to find a doula so late in the game, but I got incredibly lucky with hiring Carli.

Right from the start she was so attentive and strived to give us the experience that we wanted. She made me feel reassured that I could do a natural labor again and that I had all the tools to handle the pain that goes with it. 

Throughout out time together Carli was able to answer all of my questions promptly and provided me with additional resources.

When my labor started, I couldn't think of anything but the contractions. Carli quickly took charge and made sure that everyone on the team knew about my birth plan and my wishes. She coached me through the contractions and when the pain started to become overwhelming, she reassured me that it was okay for me to feel this way. This made all the difference and I was able to get through labor and give birth naturally. I have nothing but positive comments for Carli. She is definitely the person you want by your side!

As a first time Dad I didn't realize how valuable having an experienced Doula was. I dilligently studied the Bradley method, and figured that I was prepared, but having Carli guide us through the birth process was invaluable. She spent significant time with us during pregnancy talking through our birth plan, preferences, and helping my wife prepare physically and emotionally. I would highly recommend anyone who is expecting to consider hiring Carli. She helped me be more there for my wife, and was a persuasive and kind advocate for us and our birth plan at the hospital. She stayed at my wife's side for almost 40 hours with minimal rest, and helped me stay rested, nourished, and hydrated. Carli embodies everything I was wanting in a Doula: a person to empower me, be a listening ear, and possess a vast array of knowledge, all the while being a calming presence and immeasurably supportive. Choosing Carli as our Doula was one of the best decisions my husband and I made for the birth of our firstborn.

From our preparatory meetings to the delivery and after, I couldn’t have asked for a better support and person to be on our team. 

Carli was so thorough and attentive during our meetings. She ensured my preferences were outlined in a birth plan, provided me with research-based articles and information, and took time to clarify my requests so she could be the best support for us in the delivery room. Carli made me feel heard and often reached out to her contacts when she wasn’t sure about a question or request I had. She did everything in her power to get me the information I needed. 

The birth didn’t go exactly as planned, but I am SO HAPPY with how everything turned out, and Carli was a giant part of that. She worked so organically with the rest of the staff and birthing team, and she was exactly what I needed that day and in the delivery room. She was so helpful with reminding us of our plan and making suggestions throughout the labor. It was a wonderful birthing experience. 

Both pre- and post-delivery, there has not been a text that’s gone unanswered or a worry she hasn’t addressed. She has ALWAYS gone above and beyond the call of duty to help me. 

Carli has a huge heart, is so easy to talk to, and is SO GOOD at what she does. If we ever have a second child, we want Carli to be our Doula again! I HIGHLY recommend her if you are looking for a Doula. -Sarah

Carli was a wonderful Doula. She helped us as we transitioned from Boston to Indiana right in the middle of my pregnancy, even helping me determine where I should receive my care. She was extremely honest, transparent and a wealth of knowledge when it came to the process of labor and delivery. I could also very clearly see that Carli is focused on helping her clients achieve THEIR goals, without judgement.

Because of Carli, I was able to make it through an extremely intense and unmedicated delivery. When our baby girl was finally born, my husband and I both looked at Carli and said "We couldn't have done this without you!"

My husband and I couldn't be more thankful that we had Carli with us for the birth of our second baby! We didn't have a doula for our first birth and knew that we wanted the extra support of a doula for our second-- Carli was the perfect fit for us! She exceeded our expectations of what it would be like to work with a doula and helped make our birthing experience so much better than we ever thought it could be! I have known Carli since I was in middle school. She was a leader in my youth group at church, and we have stayed in contact through high school, college, marriage, and now kids. Carli was my doula for my first birth. She was such an amazing help. And having someone there that knew my background, struggles, beliefs, etc. was so amazing. Carli was such a huge support to not only me, but also my husband. She was able to answer any questions we had. I gave birth during the height of Covid-19, so only my husband and doula were allowed in the hospital. Carli was able to be the mother figure I needed during this experience. She was also able to keep my parents updated while I was in labor. If you ever need a doula, Carli is literally the best out there.

Carli is absolutely amazing.  I just can't say enough how much her presence meant to me during the birth process with my daughter Hailey.  I had an unexpected course of labor with 1 failed induction and nearly another failed induction over the course of 60hrs, and Carli was there almost the entire time.  She stayed with me when my husband had to go back home and take care of our pets and get some rest himself.  She was an advocate for me and what I wanted, and especially when what I wanted changed.  And when induction was doing absolutely nothing to move labor along, she played games with and got to know my family (a first for her I think, playing board games during a labor!)  She became a part of our family and I am so glad I chose her as my doula.

Our experience with Carli was great. Being from England I was new to the American medical system and Carli took the time to explain the process with me from the very beginning. She talked through the different hospitals in the area and introduced me to the birth centre where I evetualy had our son. Carli was proactive at keeping in touch throughout my pregnancy and letting us know she was there to help. We had a few meetings leading up to my due date where we planned the birth I wanted and Carli made sure she understood what I wanted her role to be. On the night of the birth she was able to help exactly how I needed her too, encouraging me to breathe methodically and provide encouragement when I needed it. Carli also provides a follow up visit after the birth to check how things are going and offer help and advice if needed. She's warm and friendly and very easy to get along with. I would highly reccommed Carli!

When I first got pregnant, I was so nervous. My husband and I were planning everything, and it was expected, but I still felt so unprepared for everything. The second I met Carli, I knew she would be the perfect person to help us on our pregnancy journey. She is nurturing, patient, and willing to help answer any questions. I think the biggest thing for me was the confidence that she helped me build througout my pregnancy. Thanks to her guidance, when it was time to give birth, I felt empowered to make decisions and tell the hospital staff what I needed even before Carli arrived. As someone that has a hard time speaking up for myself, that was huge. I feel like Carli not only supported us during my pregnancy and birth, but helped us focus on what was important so that we were prepared to become parents when the hospital sent us home. I will always be grateful for the role she played in our journey to become first time parents and I hope we can have her help and guidance for any additional pregnancies in our future.

Carli was amazing!!! She was so helpful, knowledgeable, and caring. She really went above and beyond! We couldn’t have done a natural birth without her. She was great at being there to answer questions during my pregnancy, supporting me during labor, and being there for postpartum help and to answer nursing questions. I am so happy that first, we chose to hire a doula for our birth, and second, that we chose Carli. We completed Hypnobabies training in preparation for our birth. Carli was well-versed in the specifics of hypnobabies, but was also able to draw on her knowledge of more "traditional" birth practices to support us both before and during the birth. It was particularly helpful when I wasn't able to stay fully in hypnosis and Carli was able to offer alternatives to help me get comfortable as I progressed. I joked when we hired her that I was really hiring her to be there for my husband--who had always planned to be and was very involved in the birth. I'm certain she was just as helpful to him as she was to me by being someone else in the room to share coaching duties with and to provide much needed breaks during the 9-ish hours I labored in the hospital. (They had different jobs, but it was a team effort!) Carli was also excellent at calmly keeping me on track with my birth plan when I was ready to throw it out and take some painkillers. This was my first birth and Carli was instrumental in making it an experience I ultimately remember as entirely positive. If I ever find myself planning to give birth to another baby, she will be my first call.

My experience with Carli was one of a kind. We met Carli when I was newly pregnant and I knew right away she would be able great person to have on our birth team. She made my husband and I feel at ease and confident from that first meeting. From the time we signed the contract I could text or call any time with questions or ideas for our birth plan. 

On the big day, I texted Carli at 6am and she came over shortly after. We spent the whole day laboring at home while preparing our dog's Halloween costume. It sounds silly, but what a blessing to spend the majority of my labor on the couch laughing with my husband and doula awaiting my son's arrival instead of rushing to the hospital and spending the day attached to machines and an IV. With Carli's knowledge we remained at home for 13 hours before arriving at the hospital at 4cm dilated. Time moved quickly after that, and Carli kept my husband and I calm while getting me through the transition period and pushing. She works well with the Obstetrician and does not step on their toes. With her by our side, I was able to have a completely natural, joyous birth that went at our own pace. 

I am grateful for Carli's knowledge and friendship every day and I can't imagine giving birth without her!

Carli was an amazing addition to my birth team. This being my fourth baby, first natural birth I don't feel I could have had the birth I wanted without her. She encouraged me when I didn't want to get off the birthing ball, since it was the most comfortable place during my labor. She encouraged me to walk to get things progressing a little faster. She had amazing suggestions as to what was best for my comfort level during labor and when it came time to push. She is very knowledgeable in what she does. I highly recommend Carli as a doula.

We are so grateful we found Carli to be a part of the birth of our first child. She took the lead during prep sessions to make sure we covered important matters but also took the time to listen to us and respect our knowledge and desires. She answers questions with valuable information as well as recommendations and lessons from her experiences. She was available and checked in regularly prepartum. During labor and delivery, she was present and offered very valuable suggestions. For the last stages, she stepped in as main support person so my husband could take a break (after being my coach for 15+ hours!) which made a world of difference. She was exactly what we both needed - comforting, encouraging and practical. Postpartum, she checked in regularly again and was there to answer questions and encourage us more. A few weeks after our baby was born, we found out I was not producing enough breast milk and Carli went above and beyond to connect us with a milk donor so we could keep our baby exclusively on breast milk. What a blessing! We would recommend Carli without hesitation to any pregnant couple. Thank you for everything!

PHENOMENAL. If you're looking for THE BEST doula look no further. Carli is the perfect combination of warm/friendly & professional/wealth of information. I hired Carli around 20 weeks pregnant and she answered all my pregnancy questions and eased my pregnancy concerns. I gave birth early May (1st baby!) and with this whole covid19 situation I had all sorts of anxieties but Carli was a rock throughout it all. I arrived at the hospital at 7cm dialated (thinking this should be over soon, right?!) and Carli helped me and was by my side every single minute of the next 30 hours! Even though I labored for about 26hrs and pushed for 4hrs (all unmedicated) labor was positive and empowering because of Carli. Carli created a safe and empowering space for my birth. She guided my husband and helped him to figure out how to help/support me- because it isn't intuitive and in the moment during a contraction I couldn't articulate how I needed him to help me, but Carli just knew what I needed and she showed him how to press/massage etc. When we realized I had only progressed 1cm in 10hrs Carli had ALL the tricks and techniques and positions to help get me fully dialated and get baby in the right position. When I thought I couldn't go any further, she told me she knew I could. When I called out for my mom, she made it clear she was there to comfort me. When the midwife had to perform an episiotomy, Carli quickly stepped in and asked for it to be horizontal (to prevent deeper tearing) and because of her knowledge and advocacy I didn't tear- thank goodness. Carli was an essential part of my birth team. She empowered me and my husband and the whole atmosphere of my birth experience was positive and supportive. I cannot sing her praises enough! Carli will 100% be my doula again. I wouldn't give birth without her. So ladies, do yourself a favor and hire Carli, she simply is the best. (Also, super helpful with breastfeeding!)

Phenomenal Doula Carli!

My natural labor plan initially meant I didn't want anyone in the room but my husband. However, after taking a natural birthing class, my husband said he wanted the guidance a doula would provide him.

I agreed we could do it but wondered how can I possibly be comfortable with someone with such little time knowing them?

Carli was very sweet on the phone and when we met in person I couldn't believe how well we clicked. She was perfect. She was so supportive through the rest of the pregnancy. Any question or concern I had she answered and put me at ease immediately. I realized how grateful I was my husband wanted her there. 

My husband and I both know I only had my natural labor because of her arrival and support at the hospital. Her soothing voice, calming guidance, and reading my body's cues without me saying anything, to help me through labor were all amazing.

When we conceived 7 months later Carli was our first message! We knew we had to have her again.

Carli was very supportive throughout the pregnancy, even with it being more difficult. When I was anxious about anything she always had such a positive energy I couldn't help but feel calmer after talking to her on the phone.

Our 2nd came into this world with such speed, under 4mins from arrival, Carli didn't arrive at the hospital for his birth. She still came. She gave me that needed calm after the storm. She filled our hospital room with her positive energy.

She answered my phone messages at 2am about labor contractions, and guided me through my at home experience (I didn't have with our 1st) with labor positions and comfort measures.

Two labors and beautiful baby boys. One amazing doula. I can't recommend Carli enough! Truly having a doula is something everyone should do, but having Carli is the BEST decision you can make for your labor!

Carli was so helpful before, during and after my daughter's birth. She responded to all my questions ahead of time and helped reassure me about any concerns. She went to the hospital with me too early and didn't complain at all. She made my husband feel included in the process and helped him know what to do. Carli helped me feel confident in the decisions I made about my birth plan and supported me when I changed it. After birth, she helped me figure out some of my breastfeeding issues. I am so thankful I had her there and would recommend her services to any expectant mom.

I was initially under the impression that my wife and I didn't need the services of a doula. I believed a team of excellent doctors and nurses would be enough. I'm an engineer with a strong analytical background so a healthy baby and a healthy mother were my priorities. I was also afraid that having a doula might set up a potential conflict with the doctors and nurses.

My first impressions of Carli put my concerns about conflict with our doctors and nurses at ease: she is well aware of where of where a doula's responsibilities end and where a doctor's begin. Carli established a friendly and comfortable rapport with my wife right away but I put up a wall. Despite this, Carli persisted in putting my wife's well being first. That's when I realized that she was really there to help.

When my wife started going into active labor, I saw just how absolutely necessary it was to have Carli there. Doctors and nurses simply can't provide the essential emotional encouragement to have a natural birth that my wife needed. Carli immediately established a connection with my wife and was able to reassure her that what my wife was feeling was normal. Carli helped my wife in a way that I couldn't because she has experience in helping so many women come to terms with the emotional and psychological aspects of giving birth. When labor becomes overwhelming, she can point to an experience or provide coping mechanisms or suggest an alternative approach. She knew my wife well enough to be able to judge which of the myriad approaches would work best. The best value from her services was in providing emotional and psychological support that comes from experience and from really caring.

Carli went above and beyond what I expected in providing an outstanding level of care and support - and I expected a lot. I am extremely grateful that Carli was there with us. A big part of my wife's postpartum emotional well-being is a result of Carli's actions.

As first-time parents, my husband and I decided to enlist the help of a doula to help guide us through the birth process and achieve my goal of an all-natural birth. Carli was with us every step of the way. She made herself available in the weeks leading up to labor by checking in and reminding us she was available around the clock, even on a holiday. She helped us decide when to call the hospital after my water broke. Once I was in active labor, she guided me through all of the comfort measures to keep me as comfortable as possible. Following the delivery, she was there to help with the first latch and answer any questions. And she visited us the very next day to see how we were doing.
Labor can be long, hard and confusing with so many decisions to make along the way. With Carli by our side, we felt very secure about having all the facts in order to make the best decision for us. She always had our goals and vision in mind but never gave her opinion unless we asked. The compassion and care she gave us during our journey was something I will never forget and will always be grateful for.
Our birth process was so memorable and beautiful, and it ended with the greatest gift of all: the healthy delivery of our son. I highly recommend hiring Carli as a doula. It was one of the best decisions we made in the months prior to the birth of our son.

Our family was so blessed to meet Carli Mellentine! We had a special agreement with her to offer sibling support during our labor and she went above and beyone by arranging a "play date" with our 3 year old, so that they could get to know eachother better before the big day.

We met with Carli a few times before the birth to go over our desires, plans, etc., which was really helpful! During these sessions, we laughed, we dreamed, and we calmed fears. Carli is a very knowlegable woman and was always willing to offer her advice and personal experience to every question we had.

Our intentions to have a home birth were altered when I received results of high liver enzymes, but Carli kept in good contact with us via calls and texts and really helped me to mentally prepare for a hospital birth. While everyone else (docs and midwife) were keeping my health in check, Carli was there to offer comfort, and keep my heart in check. Tearfully choosing to severly alter our birth plans (by going to the hospital) was SO much easier with Carli's encouragemnt and heartfelt support. After our quick, short, happy, healthy birth Carli was STILL there for us. She helped us get to the recovery side of the hospital and made sure we were all settled in before she left. Carli came to see us 2 more times after our birth and we certainly hope to see her again! :) 

Our family HIGHLY recommends Carli. She is so thoughtful and attentive to the needs of the whole family!

My experience with Carli was wondeful and life changing. She listened to my fears and concerns about childbirth (my first child) with an open and loving heart. Having her on my birth team reassured me that I was going to get through this experience. I had never met the doctor I delivered with, so having a familiar face from the hospital meant a lot to me. Carli was also very supportive to my husband Robb. She helped guide him about how to best support me. I had a 26 hour labor that started in the middle of the night. Carli was kind about meeting us at the hospital and answering our phone calls and texts. She stuck in there with us and helped me push when the time came. I couldn't imagine giving birth without here there.
