Having Savannah Howard as our Doula was the best decision we could have made for our daughter’s birth. Savannah was professional and thorough as well as nurturing, loving and firm. She was a pro at seeing what needed to happen; when to be invisible and when to help take control of a situation to champion me the birthing mom. Savannah was just straight up awesome on all fronts. One thing that was very important to me was to have a home birth with no use of any painkillers, labour inducers or any meds of any kind. She would gently remind me of my birth plan when the contractions felt unbearable and I was calling out for an epidural and the hospital. had a very long labour and Savannah stayed with me and my husband for 3 days and 2 nights at our home. She was hands on when needed and truly put in a massive effort to ensure my comfort the entire time I was in labour. She also gave space for me and my husband to have time on our own when we needed it.

Best of all, my fantasy birth came true when Savannah encouraged me to catch my own baby. Which I did! We will always remember our daughter’s birth as an empowering, life changing adventure and Savannah had a lot to do with that. My husband and I recommend her with flying colours.

Thanks Again Savannah for your love, support and professionalism!!

We were unsure at first regarding using a doula and even decided against the first person that we had met with. Meeting with Savannah made us feel at ease and we really liked her demeanour. One thing that I really valued was the support after our Charlie was born. There is so much focus on the delivery but there is still a lot of support needed once your little one arrives so the post partum visits were very helpful!

Savannah was a fantastic support for my partner and I during our delivery. She was very thoughtful and always a step ahead thinking about all of the details for us and helping to be prepared. She brought a sense of calm and empathy into the conversation and acted as a voice of reason with all of the overwhelming decisions we had to make.  She is supportive, easy going and would be a great support to your team during the emotional rollercoaster of delivery!

My husband and I cannot say enough good things about Savannah and having her as our doula! Savannah has such a kind, calming and soothing personality- all things that we appreciated so much during labour and delivery. From our very first prenatal visit we felt at ease and developed an immediate connection; it was like talking with an old friend. Her warm manner and friendly smile really drew us to her and we were sure that we wanted her as our doula and never regretted it. The support and resources she offered pre and post partum were invaluable and we always felt like we could reach out with any questions or concerns at any time. During labour Savannah was absolutely amazing, from her encouraging words and all the hard work doiing hip squeezes and applying sacral pressure- we couldn't imagine not having her there. She was an absolutely amazing labour coach She was also very conscious of both our needs making sure I was drinking enough, eating when i could and making sure my husband was able to take breaks to eat also.

When our baby boy was delivered he had some health complications and issues breathing which became very stressful- Savannah was there for us right when we needed a reassuring hand on our shoulder. The following few days she still checked in with us regularly to see how our baby was progressing and making sure we were doing okay. With all of this she really went above our expectations and it was obvious that she not only loves her job but she deeply cares for the couples that she works with. We will be recommending her to all our friends who are pregnant- having Savannah as your doula is a game changer!! Thank you again Savannah!!

My partner and I are so grateful that we met Savannah and had her help and guidance during what could have been a very stressful birth experience. She has such a calming presence and was a source of the wisdom we needed when we felt clueless...which was all of the time, as this was our first experience with pregnancy and childbirth! She was always available when we needed her, deeply caring while very professional. My labor progressed quickly and ended with a medical intervention that we wouldn't have been able to navigate as calmly without her by our sides. Both myself and my partner greatly benefited from having Savannah as part of our birth team. We would absolutely work with her again and recommend her to anyone interested in doula care!

Savannah was the most amazing addition to my labour and birth. She stepped in as a replacement for my doula who at the last minute couldn’t make it, and I feel like it was meant to be, that Savannah was the one who was there. From the moment she walked into the hospital to meet us, I felt more calm and ready to take on this already fast progressing labour. She was so kind, helpful, and knew what I needed in each moment before I even knew myself. She made my labour pains feel less difficult, she showed my husband how to help me when needed, she gave the most encouraging words of support and she also gave me space when I needed. Her intuition and experience shines through in her abilities and also through her wonderful personality that makes you feel relaxed and calm in one of the most difficult and strange times in your life.

Her follow up visit was so wonderful and she has continued to help with any questions I have had over these first few weeks at home. I can’t say enough great  things about Savannah and I just feel so lucky to have had her come into my life.

We had a really positive birth experience and I think Savannah was a large part of that. She was so kind and caring and lovely to be around. All of the information she gave us before the birth really helped to keep us confident and comfortable about the experience. when I was first going into labor Savannah answered all of my ridiculous questions over the phone and offered to come by my house in the middle of the night to help calm me down, to provide support and to bring the TENS machine.

Our midwife was away on vacation when I went into labour and we ended up having a locum Midwife who we had never met. This initially made my husband and I a little bit uncomfortable because this midwife didn't know our birth plan, so it was great to have Savanna, not only just because it was comforting to have a professional that we knew but she really stepped up and advocated for me and my needs.

I 100% recommend Savannah!

When Savannah started working with us we needed someone who could see what had to be done and would take the responsibility to do it. We were tired and overwhelmed new parents and Savannah made a big difference by taking a proactive role, doing everything she could to lighten the load. With very little guidance she is able to morph into whatever role she needs to fill out that day. She is kind to us and our baby, she is a great cook and she is fun to be around! I would gladly recommend her as a doula.

I would like to say a big thank you to Savannah for her help over the 3 days of labor. Honestly we couldn't have done it without her. My husband and I are so appreciative of her. Savannah was so attentive and present the whole time, giving me help, encouraging me, feeding and hydrating me more than I know I needed. It was the longest and most vulnerable 3 days ever but we had such an amazing support team. Can't say enough about how blessed we were to be in her care. She might not yet be as experienced as other doulas out there yet but her dedication and commitment more than makes up for it.  We were hesitant about even hiring a doula at all, now we can't imagine going without. Thanks again!

Having felt grossly unprepared for my first birth (which quickly resulted in a need for csection), we learned more about doula services when we met with Savannah.  We could not be happier with the decision to go with Savannah as our doula!  She is not only knowledgeable and experienced, but has great attention to the mother’s needs.  Savannah took great care to understand my personality and birthing wishes and encouraged and supported me through the birthing process with exactly the information and support I needed from her.  I can’t imgaine getting through labour without her care and support!  Thank you so much for being there for my husband and I!

This was my second birth but first time having a doula and Savannah was a wonderful support to me and my family! I was highly anxious and dealing with some major stress throughout my pregnancy, but even upon our first meeting Savannah has a warm, open and kind presence about her and I immediately felt comfortable with her. My labour progressed quite fast but Savannah was quick to arrive to our home and immediately worked fast to help me with comfort measures while maintaining her calm/warm presence. She seemed to know exactly where to “fit herself in” with not only supporting me but also my husband and mom who were part of my support team. As any laboring woman knows we can be quite irritable when we’re in the thick of it and Savannah was the only person I would listen to in helping me focus on my breathing techniques during the intense contractions and pushing stage. She kept me hydrated and thought of all the little things that contributed to making this a positive birth experience. The icing on the cake was that she took a video with my phone of my baby daughter right after she was born. What a precious and intimate memory to have captured.

I wanted my second birth to be an empowering experience and I feel the support I received from Savannah was essential in creating that experience.

Post partum she also provided wonderful support helping us get settled into adjusting to becoming a family of 4. My eldest daughter would always get excited hearing that Savannah was dropping by for a visit.

It was such a pleasure to have Savannah as part of our birthing experience. She has a personality and presence that was meant for this line of work and I would highly recommend her.

We are so grateful to have had Savannah join and support us during our labour and delivery of our first child. Her calm and supportive demeanour was a much appreciated presence during all stages of labour, at home and hospital. It was great to have several opportunities to meet her and get to know her during our pregnancy, so that there was a level of comfort during the labour and delivery.

She was open and supportive of our choices, and asked us great questions which helped us to develop our “Birth Wishes” prior to our delivery.

During the labour, she was so helpful with breathing exercises to help get through the contractions, and was a physical support to rely upon to give my husband a break. She massaged my legs, applied aromatic cold cloths to my head and neck, left the hospital to get dinner for my husband… all these little things really helped to make the experience so positive and even enjoyable.

We couldn’t imagine going through the experience without her. We would highly recommend Savannah for any birthing couples - she is a champ and someone you want by your side.
