Having Haylee as my doula for our second child's birth was an incredible experience and gift beyond measure! She is kind, knowledgeable, professional, personable and calm. Her care and communication pre- and post-delivery were excellent and she did an outstanding job coaching,  supporting and encouraging me during labor. I highly, highly recommend hiring her!

Four days after my due date at 12:30 AM my labor started with a bang and I texted them and instantly got a response and they coached me through the night until finally Haylee said if it’s all right, I’m gonna come over now which I was so happy, because by that point, I needed her. I’m really speechless and feel such a gratitude for how Haylee walked into my birth space and was with me literally every second of my labor from about 7 AM, baby was born at 12:51 PM, and she stayed around for the post care for another two to three hours. She came into the birth space literally picked me up off the floor, got me on the bed into a position, dimmed the lights, put on soothing Christian Hypno birthing tracks, got the diffuser going with mint to help with my nausea, kept me hydrated, helped me to get some nutrients to keep my energy up, and put up with me as I moved from room to room and position to position trying to find some thing that felt right. During each contraction, she reminded me I could do anything for a minute, she helped me to stay in each position for 3-4 contractions, coached me to listen to my bodies cues on what felt right vs just telling me what to do. I didn’t realize that each position she was putting me in, was helping to bring the baby down to progress the labor. my whole body would go tense during each  contractions and she really was trying to help me breathe and relax into them. I am with all her help I was able to have a relatively quick first labor just over 12 hours.

I really get emotional thinking about it because I don’t think I would’ve been able to have the birth of my dreams at home without her there. She was such an instrumental part of my birth story that will forever hold such a special place in my heart and memory of my little girl being born exactly how I pictured

I hired Haylee as my doula and she was my birth angel. My husband and I were so happy to have her help throughout the birth process. We had a home birth planned and for many reasons outside our control had to go to the hospital. We were in the hospital for 4 days and 3 nights and Haylee was so helpful and with us every step of the way. We had to make several decisions during my labor and Haylee helped us talk through each option the medical team gave us. She was incredibly knowledgeable about birth, and has a fun, easy going and caring personality!

Haylee was wonderful to work with as our doula.  I also utilized Haylee for placenta encapsulation services. My husband was all things skeptical when looking into doula services but now says that it was the best decision we could have made and doesn't regret it one bit. We do not have any family in town and to have the support of Haylee in the Labor and Delivery room especially during a complicated and lengthy labor, it was an absolute reassurance to us as we were making critical decisions throughout the labor. Our experience ended in a C-section and Haylee was right there with me post op after delivery while my husband was with our son. As we come up on a year of our sons’ birth (the delay of this testimonial is thanks to mom brain) we 1,000 times over would use Haylee again for doula services. We would like to try a Vbac with our next child and would like to have her expertise and support in the room with us again. I also got my placenta encapsulated as well and I would recommend that to every new mom, this was a game changer for me and my energy levels after labor especially with a C-section and recovering from my own surgery.

I have so much to say and I'm so grateful to have found Boise Birth Village! When I got pregnant, my husband and I were new to the Treasure Valley and did not have any support system here. We felt overwhelmed so we decided to hire a doula. Haylee and Sharina were amazing in helping us plan for our birth and prepare for labor. Sharina attended my birth, which was an induction at 41 weeks. The pitocin contractions hit me really hard right away and Sharina was such an angel the entire day... which was basically a full 24 hours! She knew just how to support me and help with pain relief. After I got an epidural she helped me into different positions, which wasn't easy because my legs were numb! Even though I was in active labor for 18+ hours followed by a c-section, it was truly a wonderful and beautiful day and I loved hanging out with Sharina the whole time. I ended up needing a c-section, but Sharina was there right afterwards with continued support. She truly felt like part of the family and I can't wait for the next baby so we can use Boise Birth Village again ?? 

My baby and I had some trouble after birth and Sharina came over right away. She suspected a tongue tie and helped us get the support we needed. We made priceless connections through Haylee and Sharina - from IBCLCs, craniosacral therapy providers, chiropractic care, acupunture, milk donors, mom groups, new friends, and more. 

 My baby and I are doing great now and it's all because of Boise Birth Village! We found "our village" in our new town where we previously had no support. I will be forever grateful to Haylee and Sharina. Thank you both!!

Haylee and Sharina- where to begin with these two INCREDIBLE humans. They are both forever apart of our family. We felt connected with both before going into the big day with the two meetings before hand. Haylee was on call when I went in to labor- and it wouldn’t have been the home birth we dreamed of without her. Sharina came over when I reached out with some breastfeeding troubles and helped resolve them! I will forever tell anyone pregnant to get a doula and if they are local to reach out to Boise Birth Village! ??

Haylee was fantastic! I was having a hard time finding a doula who was available and responsive, but I'm so glad that I found Haylee. From the first video call, I felt excited to work together and knew it was going to be a good fit for us. The prenatal appointments were very fun and helpful - and I really appreciated how professional she was and the resources she made available to me. My husband and I truly felt supported, and I really appreciated the energy Haylee brought to our team. It was great to work with her in preparation for my birth, and I only wish she was able to be there that day (she had partnered with Sharina Jensen and it was Sharina's day when I went into labor. Sharina was great at my birth, though, and my experience with both ladies was very positive!).

I also had Haylee do my placenta encapsulation and was very happy with how that went. The entire time we worked together, Haylee was very pleasant, helpful, supportive, organized, responsive, and all around awesome!

My husband and I are so very grateful we found Haylee. This was my second birth and we were attempting a VBAC so we decided to find a doula to have some extra support in the delivery room. Haylee was in the hospital with us and she was so wonderful throughout the whole experience. We arrived at the hospital at 7am on a Friday and had our baby at 7:45am on Saturday morning and she was with us for almost that whole time plus for about and hour or so after birth.  After my first birth ended in C-section, I knew that I didn’t just want to sit around and wait for birth to just happen, so Haylee was able to coach me and had me doing different spinning babies techniques to help the baby progress. When labor and contractions got more intense she coached me through breathing and help make the environment more peaceful for me. This birth experience with a doula compared to our first birth experience without was night and day difference and the fact that our VBAC was successful was influenced heavily by Haylee being there with us. I highly recommend these Haylee to anyone who is looking for some extra support and valuable knowledge. From the moment we became her clients she was so awesome and really helped empower me through my VBAC. After my first birth experience felt so out of my control, it was really a redeeming feeling for me to take some of my control and power back for this birth and one of the ways I did that was through hiring a doula. Even though i got Haylee on my birth team late in my pregnancy (36 weeks), it felt like i had known her for much longer. She is a very warm and geniune person, and has tons of resources and information to carry you through prenatal/birth/postpartum. She helped me to visualize my birth and make sure that i was in the right place mentally before the actual event. I wasn't sure if my husband was going to be able to make it to my birth and she made sure that i felt safe and supported. I ended up having false labor a few days before actual labor and she came over very late and stayed with me through the night until i felt that nothing was progressing and we couldnt get things started again. When the birth finally did happen she was very good at advocating for me when i didnt want an internal exam. She helped with some hip squeezes and position changes and the labor ended up only being 2 hours long (i'm not promising that Haylee was the reason for that but we'll just say she was haha). As a bonus, she baked some delicious rolls as a part of the meal she brought for the postpartum visit. My overall experience was very good and i would recommend her to anyone looking for a birth doula in the area!

My husband and I were paired with Haylee days before our baby's birth by our midwives at Boise River Birth Center. We didn't originally think we needed a doula since we had a team of midwives but when my baby started showing us that he might have a hard time descending efficiently and cause me back labor in the process, we gladly took their recommendation to let Haylee help us. My husband especially felt relief from her presence when she showed up at 3 AM to assist us. He didn't know what he was doing and felt supported by her to in turn support me during a fast and furious active labor. I had back labor the majority of the time and Haylee helped me stay focused and relaxed through the entire process. We can't stop telling people how instrumental she was in getting through our first labor experience. Haylee truly cares for every family that she comes across and is so talented at making everyone, but especially the mama, feel heard and supported. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Thank you, Haylee!

Haylee was hands down one of the best decisions we made with our birth plan. Not only did she help us with calming our laboring anxiety, I was able to contact her about any questions I had. My labor was so beautiful, and I truly believe she helped us achieve the birth we wanted. Truly went above and beyond for us, and we can't thank her enough! 10/10

Having Haylee as our doula was an amazing experience. When my wife said she wanted to hire a doula I was hesitant at first but was open to what she wanted to do. Now after the birth, I am so thankful to have had Haylee there throughout the process. She came to our house a couple times before the birth and these visits helped me feel more comfortable about what we would expect. It also made me relax knowing that I didn't really need to remember anything as she would be there to remind me during labor. Having Haylee there during the labor was quintessential in helping me feel like I had an active role in the labor, and helped me know that I was supporting my wife in a beneficial way.

One last thing to mention is that we had an incredibly hard time finding a doula. Many did not return our calls. Others refused us due to our due date being near Christmas. Haylee was always very professional, punctual, and good with communication.

Overall, Haylee was an amazing doula. My wife and I are super thankful for having gotten to know her and having her share and add to our birthing experience. She is not only a great doula, but an amazing mom and person as well! We can't imagine having done it without her and would happily and eagerly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula. If we have other kids, Haylee will certainly be one of the first people we call.

Haylee is an amazing doula and my husband and I can't recommend her enough! She was there for us every step of the way during my (very long) labor and delivery. Haylee was extremely proactive in supporting us however needed. Her constant guidance, actions, and words of encouragement provided us with such comfort and peace throughout my labor, especially during times that called for flexibility with my birth plan. We honestly don't know what we would have done without her and I am so thankful she was a part of my birthing experience!

Highly recommend Haylee! My son originally had a due date close to Christmas and I struggled on finding a doula. I had almost given up on using one when I found Haylee and now my husband and I cannot imagine the experience without her!

She was such a supportive and encouraging presence, and really helped me feel confident and empowered throughout the entire experience. Haylee came to the hospital in the middle of the night and provided constant support and guidance throughout the entire experience with such energy and presence. She brought so much experience and had such a compassionate and supportive way of helping through the night and into the morning. When my birth plan did not go according to plan, we really credit Haylee with being able to help me maintain perspective and allowed the best birth experience we both could have imagined for the situation. I felt so supported by her and so did my husband. Cannot recommend enough!

I knew I wanted a doula for the birth of our son. After interviewing a few different doulas, my husband and I felt so comfortable with Haylee that we knew we had to hire her! 

As my due date approached and passed, Haylee offered great support for us as we were anxiously awaiting the arrival of our baby. When my water finally broke, she was immediately over at our house and hands on giving me support for each contraction. When we arrived at the hospital, Haylee didn't hesitate to jump in to help with pain management and guidance for any decisions we needed to make. Labor went long (25 hours long) and was exhausting for all of us yet Haylee didn't sleep! She made sure to be available for my every need until we insisted she take a breather. Her endurance and nonstop support was invaluable for both of us. She made me feel capable and strong to endure the work of delivering our baby and I was able to say it was a great birth thanks to her being there!

if you're considering hiring Haylee for your birth, don't hesitate! She knows so much and offers great compassionate care to both the mom and dad during birth. We are so grateful we hired her and we can't sing her praises enough!

Not everyone can be a doula. I believe it is a specific calling; a unique list of qualities and characteristics that takes talent and a special gifting. Haylee has everything it takes to be that exceptional doula and then some!

I wasn’t sure when the appropriate time to call my doula was—after all, I didn’t want her arriving too early or too late. Haylee assured me; “The right time is whenever you need me.” I had only met Haylee once before and I already felt supported and important to her. The moment she arrived I was in the middle of a contraction. I’m not an expert at birth by any means and didn’t know what I needed let alone what I was doing. Without hesitation, Haylee rushed over to me and began massaging everywhere it hurt. How did she know?! Just by feeling my belly she made an educated guess on where my baby was at. She had different birthing positions and methods that offered me relief during the pain and also helped speed up the delivery process. We headed to my birthing center and she stayed awake with me and my husband for two and a half days!!! I couldn’t believe it. Even in the midst of her tiredness she never stopped bringing me support and comfort through words, coaching, birthing positions, massages, and taking care of my husband and I as a whole. She made sure I stayed hydrated and kept my energy up. She also insured my husband rested so he wouldn’t miss any important parts of the birth.

During your meet and greet Haylee takes time to truly listen to your hearts desires. She wants you and your partner to feel absolute peace and comfort. She makes your goal her goal and never leaves your side. As my husband said; “Haylee is a rockstar!” She is and we couldn’t imagine doing birth without her!

Haylee was an incredible doula for us. She came highly recommended by our birth center! When my husband and I were looking for a doula, we wanted someone that we really connected with and had a calming presence. We met Haylee only 2 weeks before my due date and I was worried about not being able to connect with someone in that amount of time, we knew within 10 minutes of meeting her that we wanted her to be apart of our home birth. Things got a little crazy after delivery and Haylee was a huge help to the midwives! She is a great doula as well as an all around good person!

Haylee was absolutely amazing through the entire process. She is very knowledgeable and likable. She has a very sweet and calming demeanor which I found especially reassuring when hiring a doula for the birth of my first child. She stayed in regular contact with me and was always supportive and encouraging. When the big day arrived she was prompt and extremely helpful. She used simple but effective techniques to keep me calm and focused while breathing through my contractions. The support both my partner and I received is unparalleled. My labor and delivery experience was absolutely perfect. I wouldn't change a thing. We certainly couldn't have done it without Haylee.

We chose Haylee Richman as a birth Doula for our son who was born at a planned home birth just last week. This is our third child, and we have had a Doula for each of our other two births as well. Haylee was our best experience yet! She went above and beyond our expectations. We appreciated getting two thorough visits with her before the birth, getting to know her and having a birth rehearsal. She even came to our house to help set up the inflatable birth pool. We always felt like we were a top priority for her. She was very responsive with text messages and phone calls leading up to the birth. She took the time to make printouts of positive affirmations that were personalized to our preferences, using hypnobabies terminology, and posted those all around the birthing room. There is a shortage of Hypnobabies certified doulas in our area, but Haylee fits the bill! She is awesome at maximizing the Hypno mom's experience. We found such a good rhythm together during the birth, and her counterpressure, hip squeezes, massage, and suggestions of different positions were all invaluable. During transition and pushing she helped me stay focused and relaxed when I started to feel less comfortable and get tense. She has such a naturally positive and cheerful personality. She also brought our family a meal the day after the birth, and ice extra thoughtful touch that none of our other previous doulas had offered. To sum up, Haylee is loving, dedicated, professional, detail oriented, and we would highly recommend her for anybody!

I was a little skeptical at first when my wife wanted a doula.  I watched a few of Hailee's videos and thought... that could be helpful.  We had a few meetings to make a birth plan and they seemed a little silly but they helped put my wife at ease.  What really sold me was the night my wife went into labor.  Haylee kept in contact and helped us decide when to go in and met us there. From that point on she was irreplaceable. She was awake, alert and attentive for my wife's entire 30-hour labor helping my wife through every contraction and going out to get us food.  She was a true champion to the end.  I couldn't imagine doing this without an amazing doula like Haylee.

Haylee was the doula for my daughter Alma. It was amazing. Alma's labor was very hard ( 30 hrs) Haylee was very attentive to Alma, she instinctively seemed know what Alma needed and when she needed it. She never left Alma's side, taking a break only if Alma was taking one. She was there to help us in any way she could, including getting food for us. I would recommend Haylee to anyone. In my opinion you would never regret having her be with you during your labor.

Haylee is an amazing doula! Both my husband and I can attest to Haylee's ability and knowledge. Her presence during the birth of our son was a tremendous help. I wanted to complete childbirth naturally with no medication. Haylee was helpful in educating us in what to expect in the weeks leading up to the birth, the childbirth process itself, and what to expect postpartum. Our son was born at New begining Birth Center. Haylee was very professional and nurturing throughout the labor and delivery. I found her coaching, and knowledge to be incredible. Haylee was quick to suggest laboring positions and to ask questions and make suggestions that were in my best interest. Through my 30 hours of labor, Haylee was there with me every moment, never taking a break unless I did.  Haylee helped us achieve our ideal labor and delivery. Little Oliver was born naturally via water birth,  as I wanted. Haylee was a tremendous support, both physically and emotionally, in moments where I thought I would not be able to deliver the baby. She is awesome and we recommend her highly. My husband and I would not have been able to get through this tough labor without her. Thanks so much Haylee!
