I'll never birth without a doula as wonderful as Andrea ever again. The moment she arrived to the hospital she was by my side offering me physical and mental support. She answered any questions and concerns I had prior to my birthing time in a kind and timely manner, even late at night when she could have been sleeping. Not only is she an amazing doula but she also offers hypnobabies classes and was a great hypno-doula! If we have another we will be thrilled to have her with us again.
Andrea was wonderful to have during the birth of our second child. I decided to use hypnosis this time, in hopes of decreasing my pain during my second non-medicated birth. It worked amazing ! Andrea was there to support me, encourage me and help me make decisions that were important to my birth plan. She even helped my husband participate in a way that was up to me. I would absolutely recommend Andrea and would use her and Omaha birth and baby services again.
While I didn’t have a c-section I would still recommend her for one. She share a empowering perspective on c-section births and would likely be valuable if that’s what you would prefer or need.
It’s fitting that I’m writing this a exactly one year after Andrea was our doula for our second son’s birth. My first birth experience just wasn’t all I’d hoped for, ending in a cesarean birth. When we decided to add a second child to our family, I knew I wanted to try for a VBAC, and I had always believed having an epidural was part of the reason my labor stalled. Very early on our pregnancy, a friend recommended Andrea. We met her and instantly felt bonded with her and wanted her to be part of this birthing process. We also decided to use the Hypnobabies program to prepare for birth with as few interventions as possible, and Andrea was familiar with the program. Throughout the process, Andrea did a great job of learning our birth desires and supporting my concerns along the way. Even in the toughest moment of our actual birthing time, she reminded me why I chose to not use any pain medications or an epidural, but would have supported me either way. After baby was born, she made sure we had what we needed and helped us get ready to change to the family rooms. It was amazing and we still keep in touch now. If we decide to have another child, Andrea and her team will be some of the first to know so that can have their support again.
Andrea was my doula for the birth of my third baby, which (despite my plans) turned out to be an induction for medical reasons. If youre intending to use Hypnobabies for birth, THE best decision you will make is hiring Andrea as your doula to help you achieve a calm, peaceful hypnobabies birth. Andrea doesnt just claim to be a hypnodoula, she eats and breathes the Hypnobabies program (which is the only kind of doula you want for a Hypnobabies birth, I promise you). Andrea kept me grounded and focused on my tracks and relaxation cues from pregnancy, through the change of my birth plans, all the way to the birth of my baby boy without medication. During transformation (transition) when I started to have moments of self doubt, Andrea brought me back to a calm and peaceful space through the Hypnobabies affirmations and peace cues. Hiring her was hands down the best decision I made for my third baby's birth. I couldn't have done it without her and her intense dedication and belief in the Hypnobabies program.
Andrea was my Hypnobabies Hypno doula and oh my goodness I would so recommend her! Andrea is just the sweetest thing who was there to standd up for me if I needed it and helped my husband and I navigate all aspects of pregnancy and birthing. Being a mom herself and coming from a medical background made her such a wonderful and nurturing birthing companion. I was able to relax and have a calm and beautiful birth becuase I knew she and my husband were there looking out for me, and so I didn't have to worry about anything and could enjoy the birthing process. I told her afterwards that she was part of my birthing team and I have to have her for future pregnancies, births, and post-partum.
The funny thing is, at first my husband was completely against a doula becuase he thought he'd be my doula, but after birthing he said he was so glad we hired Andrea because she was the best investment we made for our pregnancy and birthing. She gave my husband the confidence and knowledge to be comfortable helping me and she was able to help him stay relaxed so he could help me stay calm. This was my husband's third birth experience but first with a doula and he said we are totally having Andrea with us again for future pregnancies.
My nurse also liked having Andrea there because she knew someone who was trained in supporting birthing moms was with me and she and Andrea would talk about how my baby and I were doing. They worked so well together. That's the awesome thing about Andrea. She was like the glue that pulled everyone involved with my birthing together, working as a team because she was there. I would be pregnant and give birth 20 more times if I knew Andrea would be there with me. She helped me have an AMAZING birth!
Andrea was an incredible blessing to work with throughout the whole experience of pregnancy, delivery, and soon after as well. Firstly, she is a very sweet, thoughtful, and giving person that I adored getting to be around. Something really huge for me that I never had was she taught me about all the ways I can take ownership of the birth instead of being at the mercy of my caretakers desires and whims. Each meeting I would get so excited because she would ask thorough questions about what I'd like and not like and it made me realize in my prior births xthings I loved and didn't and that I had the power to tailor it my my wants and nreds more which meant a lot. During the laboring it often felt like she read my mind and knew what I needed. She thought through the smallest details like a portable handheld fan and battery candles lining the tub with music. She also used and taught me extremely helpful pain techniques. Another thing Andrea did for me was take my placenta and encapsulate it. I found an incredible difference post baby with taking them. It's a game changer having Andrea in your corner during such a momentus time!
I'm a first time mom and knew pretty early on that I wanted to work with a doula. Its been my biggest fear in life to have a child so I wanted someone to help me through it, knowing my husband was even more clueless than I! And to be honest, my mom could not have been what I needed for that long 12 hours of labor! We even took a 9 week natural childbirth class but it's so hard to remember everything and put it into practice at go time, so it was perfect to have Andrea. She had been recommended by a friend who recently had a baby and after doing other interviews, we decided quickly that she was a good fit for us. She was so personable, knowledgeable, and shared an importance of her faith which sealed the deal. Seriously, you don't know you need a doula as much as you do in the thick of it! I have no idea what the outcome might have been had she not been there, but I'm so grateful for her advocating and encouraging me! From the first meeting and coming up with a birth plan (who knew how many decisions there were to make?!), to the actual day, we felt confidence that even though we did not know what to expect, it would be ok. I truly believe that my labor would have been longer and more complicated had we not had her there. In the midst of not knowing if I could continue, it was so comforting to hear her speaking truth into the chaos that was happening. And the pictures she took, priceless! Its such a blur now that I'm so grateful to have them! While there are many things I know now that I didn't before, I would love to have her again for our next baby! God bless her for the work that she does and supporting families to have the birth they desire, even when circumstances change and you can't have your original plan. By the way, I had to be induced with a foley bulb, petossin, and eventually my water broken which made it immensely more painful, but I still had my baby naturally after 12 hours of labor and less than 10 minutes of pushing!
We were so blessed to have Andrea assist us with the birth of our little girl. She was amazing, and so encouraging throughout the whole labor and delivery. She spent a lot of time with us before hand, too, preparing us for what was going to happen and helping us practice ways to cope and deal with the contractions and everything that I would be going through. I'm so thankful that she was able to be with us and share our happy day!
Andrea is a caring compassionate woman. We had interviewed a dozen women doulas and we just had a connection with Andrea. She is genuine and passionate in serving others. She was very supportive through my pregnancy giving me physical, emotional and informative support. This was our first child and I was very scared of labor. Andrea was with us through the 16 hour labor. If I have a 2nd child I would definately work with her.
Andrea was a complete God-send.
My husband and I serve with the State Department overseas and I came back to my hometown 6 weeks before my due date. My husband was to join two weeks prior to the due date. Because I had been in a third world country for the majority of my pregnancy, and because I was without my husband those last few weeks, I didn't feel as prepared as I would have liked and was considering hiring a doula. A friend recommended Andrea and I started researching and comparing doula services. Not only did Andrea seem so genuine, passionate, and knowledgeable -- she was also very competitively priced.
After meeting with Andrea I knew I wanted her alongside me for this crazy journey. And I'm so glad I did. Andrea took me on last minute and was a constant support. I went into labor over two weeks early so was unable to receive the two prenatal visits, but it was impressive how quickly Andrea worked to get my birth plan together. She was with me for most of my 24+ hour labor/recovery and was such a calming, comforting presence for not only me, but also my mother who stepped in as my "birth partner" in my husband's absence. Andrea helped me make educated decisions about things I hadn't yet been able to fully research, she kept me moving and trying different positions, she supported me as I veered from my original plan, and helped me process my emotions and fears. She even kept checking in on me postpartum until I left to return to Africa.
Andrea was a more than a doula, she was a friend. She was flexible, caring, and respectful. I couldn't have asked for a more professional, charming doula. My mother and I both agreed she was a gift from above! I highly recommend her to anyone considering a doula - you won't regret it!
Let me just start out by saying you will not be dissapointed with this woman! Andrea is amazing and I wish that I had her for the birth of my first child. My first was such a terrible birth experience. I had to have an episiotomy which i absolutely did not want and they put a catheter in me for well I don't even know why!! With Andrea things were different from the get go. She asked me what my wants were. She listened to me and when it came down to the day she delivered. With my first birth we walked around for like 2 hours and shortly after I was on the way to the hospital. She helped me to stay active which is what I wanted. We did the birthing ball for a little bit, walked around some and then eventually went into the tub to help with the stronger contractions I was having. She provided dim lighting and music which was really soothing. Every time I had a contraction she put pressure on my back right where i needed it. Everything went so smoothly. I didn't tear this time and Andrea told me about the benefits of encapsulating the placenta so everything went so much better for me after the delivery. I had so much energy from those placenta pills!!
With the birth of my second daughter things went just as well! She was past her due date so I was scheduled to be induced. I was super worried about this but Andrea told me not to worry and that we would be doing everything to make sure baby and I were safe. I did not use pitocin but cannot remember what the stuff I had was called so you'll have to ask her ;) She also suggested pumping to help get things started so we tried that as well as walking around the hospital for what seemed like forever! Andrea was such a trooper though. She was doing all the high knees with me!! Eventually contractions picked up and Andrea helped me to keep my voice low so my body was nice and relaxed. Soon after I was holding my baby girl in my arms! Andrea was such an amazing help the whole time. I highly recommend her!!!
I used Super Mama Doula Services for my fourth child...but my first unmedicated birth. I knew somewhat what to expect from having other kiddos...but once in labor was oh so happy to have her there. She did a great job at supporting me to keep labor progressing, and at the same time listening to my concerns and supporting my voice with the medical staff. She did an amazing job of being there for me through a very quick and hard active labor- by using different techniques such as pressure points on my back, different positions, etc. She was a calm but strong support when I needed it at the peak of my pain. She did a great job of helping me breathe through contractions, and supporting me and my spouse by being an extra hand and reassurance in the room. She also did a great job of capturing some candid photos of that most special moment. Ones that I will cherish forever. I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants to have someone who supports them and can be their advocate in the delivery room!
