When welcoming my first child, I worked with Rebecca as a satellite doula as we had an ocean between us. I wanted the expertise of a doula as I prepared for and went through labor, but didn't necessarily need someone in the room with me. Rebecca went above and beyond her duties and helped make childbirth a pleasant experience for me and my partner. In preparing for birth, Rebecca was a huge help in sorting out my feelings, wants, needs, and desires and helping me find ways to communicate them to my midwife and partner. During labor, she was available via phone call and text message to coach me through contractions, answer questions, and provide advice and encouragement. Rebecca is incredibly friendly, easy to talk to, and has a positive, calming demeanor which is very welcome during the birthing process. She even provided playlists for me to listen to which were a great help! I was very impressed with her expertise and would recommend her to anyone who is considering doula services.
As two working parents we were focused on finding a care provider that could give gentle, attentive, affectionate and appropriate care to our 7 week old daughter. Finding the right person for this task with the experience, personality and flexibility to work around our needs was not easy and definitely took some time. We started this project immediately after our daughter was born and explored baby nurses, nannies and doulas, but we found post partum doulas to be our preferred discipline with such a young baby. After trying several (6+) caregivers / doulas we were delighted when we found Becca, who initially began providing overnight care for our daughter at 7 weeks. We loved Becca's kind, soothing demeanor and took comfort in her significant experience and training from medical / clinical environments. She is also highly educated and very pleasant to be around.
Becca has become our preferred provider for care for our daughter and we have continued to work with her. We are proud to say that we can highly recommend her, and that your child would be in loving and supportive hands.
I had the privilege to work with Becca in 2017 and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Becca has a great personality and is extremely easy to work with. Before my labor, Becca came to our place a few times to understand my expectation for the labor. Becca educated us in what to expect in the weeks leading up to the birth, the childbirth process itself, and what to expect postpartum. Becca is not only knowledgeable in the area, but also cares about her customers, and this is reflected in her approach as a doula – she took the time to know the couple (yes, not just the mommies, but the husbands as well in case they also need some support).
As is typical for delivering first babies, my labor lasted for almost 24 hours. Becca’s presence during the birth of our daughter was a tremendous help. Our daughter, Ela, was born at the Brigham & Women Hospital. Becca was extremely professional and nurturing throughout the labor and delivery. Becca was quick to suggest laboring positions and to ask questions and make suggestions that were in my best interest. Throughout the process, Becca also provided music, candle lights and massage. In the end, she helped us achieve our ideal labor and delivery.
I am sure Becca will help a lot of women achieve their ideal labor and delivery in the many years to come. I wish her the best.
Becca was a fantastic support throughout my pregnancy and birth. I worked with her beginning in my second trimester, when we began to plan my ideal birth and discuss all the different choices I could make along the way. My goal was to have a natural/unmedicated birth, but as a first time mom I wasn't sure if I would be able to do it. Becca was respectful of me considering different options, including pain medication like an epidural, but she also helped me prepare for a natural birth. We practiced different positions I could use during labor and talked openly and honestly about the ways I deal with discomfort and how she and my partner could help me. She was a great complement to my childbirth education class, and was eager to hear what I was learning and use that knowledge to enrich her own practice. She helped me become confident that I could reach my birth goals.
My labor was long and difficult; I had two days of back labor becaue the baby was in a posterior position ("sunny side up"). Becca came to my house and helped me and my partner get through the long second day. She spent many hours with us, anticipating our needs for food, sleep, and comfort techniques. She was a calming and compassionate presence who made gentle suggestions when we didn't know what to do. When I went to the hospital to deliver, she worked seamlessly with the birth support team there. She was very respectful but I knew she would advocate for me and my birth preferences whenever necessary (thankfully, there were no issues). I delivered a healthy baby girl completely naturally with no complications. I am forever grateful to Becca for helping me have a wonderful birth experience. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, supportive, and skilled doula.
