Ariel from Birth Twin Cities is magical (I know that sounds cliche, but it's the ONLY word that comes to mind when I think of writing a review on her)!! She eased the excitement, nerves, and the transition childbirth for me, my husband, and daughter. She was always available via phone, called/text regularly to check on me, reviewed questions to ask my doctor before my doctor visits, and covered materials thoroughly. In the labor room, she was attentive to my emotions and my husbands concerns. Her multitasking and comforting abilities inspired me through the whole ordeal. Her passion for life shines in the way she reassured me, advocated for me, hugged my five year old daughter, and informed my husband. Ariel knows her stuff, and she goes the distance (literally and figuratively) to make the day special for my family!! I don't know how people labor without a doula, especially without Ariel!! I absolutely recommend Ariel!!

We used Ariel's services to deliver our first child this summer and she was wonderful. From when we first met with her all the way through delivery and postpartum, Ariel was great at communicating with us, whether to respond to questions we had or to just check in and see how we were doing. When my labor started, she was very quick in joining us at the hospital and immediately helped to put both me and my husband more at ease. For me, Ariel helped with breathing, light massage, and position changes, as well as keeping me focused on the final outcome of the pain (my daughter!) rather than the pain itself. She was great at reading what was going on with me even when I couldn't articulate it and guided me through my labor accordingly, encouraging position changes during the few times when the pain subsided and making sure I kept drinking water and juice throughout. Having Ariel there was also great for my husband. She made sure he also ate and drank throughout the night, and helped him to be actively involved in the labor process, which took away a lot of his feeling of helplessness as he watched me labor. Ariel has a super sweet, calm demeanor that made her a very welcome presence in the delivery room. We had an excellent experience working with her and will definitely be reaching out to her again to help us bring any future children into the world!

If you are on the fence about hiring a doula, let this review push you over the edge ;) Ariel was instrumental in the birth of our second daughter. She was a calming presence who reminded me to trust myself and my capabilities. This is SO IMPORTANT during birth and I was so thankful to have Ariel there. Through her wisdom, she helped me move my body in ways that helped my birth continue to progress. She gets to know you prior to your birth and develops a relationship with you and your significant other. Since you built a relationship prior to your birth experience, when she shows up, it's like a breath of fresh air knowing that you are both on the same page. She's kind, intuitive, knows her stuff and in my opinion, a vital component of the birthing process. Thank you forever, Ariel!! <3
