Stephanie Buck

When I got pregnant with my second my partner and I knew we would want Evan's support again as our Doula.  My first ended up being a homebirth turned crash CS at a hospital and it was traumatizing for all involved.  She was there to help us throughout and I truly believe I would be less sane without her support through that.

This time around I knew I wanted to try for a VBAC.  If it wasn't for Evan's guidance and support we both believe we would not have had the birth we were hoping for.  My partner and I were scared at first because we weren't educated enough on risks vs rewards regarding a VBAC.  Evan pushed us, in a non-pushy and non-judgy way, to educate and empower ourselves to make *our own* informed and confident decisions for our family.  She went above and beyond to remind us to plan for postpartum, even bringing us home cooked goodies when we got to postpartum.  As a fellow woman and mother, she guided me to find my own strength to advocate for myself- an ability we all have and that she firmly believes in.

I'm a private person and it usually takes me a while to get comfortable around people.  I felt comfortable around her, while being in such a vulnerable space,  because she has a naturally calming presence.  You go through a million emotions pregnant, during labor, birth, and postpartum- she was there to help me put the pieces of the puzzles together so I could feel normal.  Even helping my partner put his puzzles together.  That's another thing- she is there for the whole family, not just the pregnant member.  She values the whole family unit and takes care of all as if they were her own.

We are beyond grateful for Evan!
