Chrystal was a God-send during the labor and delivery of my second child! Both of my deliveries have been non-medicated vaginal deliveries, but my second was definitely the harder of the two, with some pretty painful back labor that seemed to last forever. Chrystal was a life-saver because she offered some amazing counter-pressure and so many other gracious suggestions to help relieve my pain naturally. My husband wasn't sure about the need for a doula but after all the help Chrystal was able to offer during my labor and delivery, I know he was so grateful she was there! I know I was!
During my pregnancy, she was so attentive to my health and my countless questions. She was up in the middle of the night to come to the hospital for the birth. She brought with her not only a bag full of wonderful 'tools' but also much wisdom, patience, and her ever-calming presence. She walked me through creating a calming birth atmosphere and helped put up my scriptures/affirmations on the walls. She was such a blessing in such special but exhausting moment. Also, being such a private person, I was worried I might not be comfortable with her being in the room during such a vulnerable time, but she put me at ease and I was completely comfortable with her there as I gave birth. She also stayed after the birth to make sure nursing went well and that we were doing well.
I couldn't recommend Chrystal highly enough. I wish I had been able to have her as my doula with my first child's birth! You can tell she is called and anointed to bless mamas (and their babies) during pregnancy, labor, and delivery. :)
Hiring and working with Chrystal was one of the best things I could have done for my pregnancy and birth experience. I wanted a non-medicated vaginal birth in a hospital setting and Chrystal was by my side the entire way. From the interview where I hired her on the spot as her passion for mothers and Jesus was a breath of fresh air, through all the silly and sometimes nervous “is this normal” texts, to empowering me through education and things I hadn’t thought to think of, to go time where she was by my side for the 12/13 hour labor with counter pressure and prayer, Chrystal was exactly the support and deep well of wisdom I had prayed for. I sought to hire someone who knew what I was going through and could help me navigate my journey as a first time mom. I am so blessed and thankful that God led me to Chrystal. Her calming presence, wisdom, and life-changing counter pressure methods made my birth experience a perfect one. My husband jokes (having previously had no idea what a doula was) that he thought I was outsourcing him. Post-birth he has informed me we are never doing it again without a doula (ideally Chrystal)! ;) With everything in me, I recommend her to you!
