Going through labor and delivery naturally was a extremely important for me. I was able to do it and one of key reasons for that was Mia's presence and assistance. She made sure that not only I but also my husband had a good experience. I ended up having back labor and Mia knew exactly where and how much counter pressure I needed to get through each contraction. Her approach is supportive, understanding, and evidence- based.
I have only good things to say about Mia and definitely recommend her!
Mia helped me with my 1st and 2nd deliveries. Both were at hospitals and unmedicated. One was short, one was long (over 30 hrs!). Mia was there for me both before and during labors completely. She helped me focus, guided my breathing, hekped me find comfort, and was just everything my husband and I needed. My 2nd baby got stuck, hence the long labor, but her rebozo technique was just the trick! I swear it made all difference. I can't imagine laboring without a doula and I am so glad I had her.
I had a wonderful experience with Mia Hill as my doula. She traveled to home a couple of time to talk over my birth plan and what she does as a doula. She brought me reading materials that would help during labor. She came up with some great questions to ask my midwife. When time got close she would text me to check up on me and made sure i was drinking enough water. she was very interested in my doctor appts. She has a lot of experience. She reassured me i could achieve my birthing plan. When it came time to the big day she helped me though some big contractions. when the pain was intense she held my hand and reminded me to breathe. She encouraged me and told me I got this. After the baby was born she stayed with me until i was moved into our hospital room. I felt so happy i made the right choice in getting a doula. i also felt so happy i found Mia. This was my first unmedicated all natural birth and i was scared but with her by my side it made my fears go away. All of her encouraging words helped so much. She still calls and texts me to check on my little baby. She came to see him after he was born and brought me some mother's milk tea. She is soo sweet and soo caring. I dont consider her just my doula anymore, I consider her my friend. If your thinking of getting a doula that will answer every question you may have and answer every text , she is definitely the right person. If your looking for a doula that encourages you and helps you get though each contractions, she is definitely the right person.
Working with Mia was great. I requested a doula from birthing way and Mia answered my request very quickly through telephone and we set up a time that she could meet me at my home for my convince. We did an interview together and I quickly decided that Mia would be a great fit for us. Mia made herself available for any questions or concerns we may have and also set out a plan for the day of labor. When my water broke I called Mia and she arrived quickly and was available the whole day offering me comfort, tips, and support throughout the labor process. Having Mia's support was what I needed in order to have the labor experience I wanted. Mia also visited us the next day after our son was born to check on us all which made the experience more personable. Mia also came for our last visit at out home a few weeks after offering support and thoughtfulness with her visit. I am very glad that I was able to work with Mia. Having Mia's as support enhanced my birthing experience with her knowledge and support
