My husband and I are so happy and grateful to have Sophie as our post partum doula as we adjust to our lives with our beautiful newborn twin girls. We quickly felt at ease with her given her non- judgemental, open, supportive, and sensitive communication style. She is full of baby and parenting knowledge and community resources. When she hasn’t known of a resource we thought could be helpful she looks into finding these things for us, which has been especially helpful since we have so little extra time to do so ourselves. Her enthusiam for this work and babies is ever apparent. She has helped us to take care of ourselves as parents by encouraging and supporting reflective conversations regarding this and our self care. It has been so helpful to work with her.
Sophie is a caring, enthusiastic, and warm woman. She cared for our daughter between the ages of 4-10 months. She was great at offering help and advice in new motherhood and parenting. She was receptive to our needs while being supportive of our parenting styles. With our daughter she was nothing but warm, engaging, and loving. I recommend Sophie's doula work, wholy.
I am incredibly grateful for Sophie. She made a huge difference for my partner Molly and I as we settled into life with our baby Maple. Leading up to Maple's birth, she organized a meal train with our family and friends so that we had homemade food for weeks after we came home from the hospital. A mother herself, she knows the challenges of a newborn and helped us feel normal as the lack of sleep sent our sanity on cartwheels. She was there for us with words of guidance at every turn, helped us keep the house tidy and took care of Maple so that Molly and I could have a few moments alone. As an inexperienced new father, she helped me get my bearings on baby wearing and bottle feeding. One thing that really impressed me was that when she felt like she wasn't the right person to support us in helping with breastfeeding, she referred us to a wonderful lactation consultant. Sophie really made our post-birth experience the one that Molly and I had hoped for and I couldn't recommend her enough.
