Michelle was such a magnificent birth doula! She listened to us, explained clearly and concisely when we had questions, and was such an empathetic and wonderful birth partner. My husband and I were focused on having a successful Hypnobirthing experience, but when the time came for our baby’s entrance and the scenario of excess fluid retention and possible gestational diabetes, we opted for a planned c-section. I wasnt even sure if birth doulas “did” c-sections, but when I asked Michelle, she made it clear that she was with us through the birth, regardless of how it panned our. She held my hand in the OR, accompanied my husband and provided gentle reminders for him through the procedure, and was such a wonderful spirit to have in the room with us, witnessing the birth of our son and making sure we provided the level of care we expected. Michelle and her partner also own a successful apothecary and she gave us birth affirmation cards, postpartum soak, and she performed placental encapsultion for us. The pills helped increase my energy, mood and milk supply. We love Michelle with our whole hearts, and anyone lucky enough to land her for a birth doula is truly blessed!

Michelle was absolutely phenomenal. She was attentive and patient throughout the entire labor process which was quite a long time. She was assertive with medical staff when I was unable to think/speak clearly. She even took pictures in the delivery room and immediatly afterward to capture the memorable time while I was recooperating. She also provided great support after the birth as well as resources for physical therapy and issues that arose with breastfeeding.

Michelle's presence was such a comfort during my two day long labor.  My husband and I were so glad Michelle was with us throughout the course of our baby's birth.  With her support, we felt our birth experience was very calm and positive.  We also had the pleasure of having Michelle as our postpartum doula.  With Michelle we always felt completely comfortable and we knew that she always had the best interest of our baby and our family in mind.  We even joked that we should have a second baby so we could have Michelle as our birth and postpartum doula again.  Thank you Michelle!

Michelle is a truly exceptional doula for both birth and post-partum care. She is respectful of your wishes, very supportive and a great listener. If you are looking for a doula, look no further. I highly suggest interviewing her to get a chance to meet her.

My husband and I interviewed several doulas and Michelle stood out as the strongest one by far. Her calm energy, supportive listening abilities and encouraging attitude were just what we were looking for. I had a more challenging birth (20 hours of intense labor with intense contractions 2 min apart) than I was expecting and Michelle was great to have my our side. She anticipates your needs and is there the entire time. She had no breaks (although we offered) and was present emotionally and physically the entire time.

I cannot stress enough the importance that Michelle played in my post-partum recovery. She came into our home and took care of so many things. She took care of our son and would cook amazing meals at the same time. One thing you may not realize is that she's a professionally trained chef and has worked in some of the city's best kitchens. I think like many women, when I had my son, day to day tasks were too much to handle in addition to taking care of my newborn and healing. Michelle made it so much better! She thought of what I needed, from big to small and handled it. She just gets to work and doesn't make you think too much (just what you need when you're adjusting to the new baby and healing from your pain). If Michelle were avaiable to stay and work in our house, we would surely hire her!

My husband and I run a business together and have hired our fair share of employees. We can attest that Michelle is a gem. She remains professional at every step of the way. Very few people are at this level of commitment to a profession and Michelle is one of them.

We loved having Michelle as our doula for the birth of our first child. We are so thankful she was willing to come to the Eastside for our birth. Her calming energy helped to keep my husband and myself grounded throughout the whole process. I loved the balance she brought to our birth journey. Additionally, I had her encapsulate my placenta, and now I am a believer in all the benefits! I would certainly reccomend Michelle to anyone looking for a birth doula, and as a placenta encapsulator. We hope if we are blessed with more children in the future she can be there with us.

We hired Michelle through the Swedish hospital doula program and were so happy to have found her! My husband, son, and I felt very comfortable with Michelle starting from our first meeting. She understood our specific needs and made time to get to know our son, who we thought might be at the birth. She was kind and responsive in all her communication and was very good about following up when I was busy and dropping the ball on scheduling our meetings. During labor, Michelle provided great support and was a seamless part of our team. If we have another child we would gladly work with Michelle again!

We are so grateful for Michelle! She was amazing. She was very helpful throughout pre-labor and active labor. I recommend her services to everyone I know having a baby.

Michelle was a dream come true! I had secured a doula through Swedish hospital. My doula had asked if I would mind if Michelle could also attend my birth. She had thought that our personalities would mesh well. She was right! I also thought "what the hell, 2 doulas for the price of one"! I was able to introduce myself via email before mtg her. She was so awesome and compassionate right from the start. I also was able to benefit from her awesome placenta services.

During my early labor and birth she was always one step ahead. She always new what I needed before I could ask. Whether it was words of encouragement or counter pressure during my contractions she was always on point! One of the most amazing experiences of my life was experiencing active labor (with petocin). This was by accident because I dialated from 4cm to 8cm in 20 minutes while waiting for the epidural. I have never felt pain like that and wasn't sure I could make it through. Michelle gave me constant positve affirmations and forced me to see that I was a warrior and I could and would get through this part of labor. It was an incredibly empowering experience and I owe a lot of it to Michelle. If you are borderline wanting a doula or are having a hard time deciding who to choose, stop now and hire this beautiful soul! You will not be disspointed. Also, make sure you take advantage of her placenta services and more!
