Jeanne is wonderful!!! Anyone would be blessed to have her has their doula. Jeanne provided us with so much confidence, reassurance and knowledge as we went into our last few weeks of pregnancy and faced labor and birth. Her texts and answers to my questions made me feel wonderfully supported. She empowered my husband a lot too and it helped him to be an even better (wonderful!) birth partner this time around. Unfortunately due to an unexpected illness Jeanne was not able to attend my birth, but even during my labor when I felt like I couldn't do it anymore, my husband reminded me of encouraging words from Jeanne, so in a way she was with me during my labor! She did my postpartum visit too and was kind and helpful to my 3 year old and patient with him even though he was having a hard time while she was there. I really loved her calm nature and the fact that she's "seen it all" over her many years of supporting labors and births!
In June of 2016 I gave birth to my first child. Honestly I almost didn't even have a Doula. Practically last minute I met Jeanne, she was a blessing, even though it was short notice she agreed to be my Doula. Having Jeanne as my Doula was one of the best birthing decisions I feel I could have possibly made! She was a valuable source of information before the birth, through delivery, and beyond. She helped me formulate a birth plan, and understand the overwhelming amount of information that was given to me about the health decisions I would be making for myself as well as my child. Jeanne is a wonderful empowering woman, which you want while you are giving birth! She helped encourage me through the toughest points in my labor, and was a great resource to my partner as well. Especially during my approx 18hr labor, when he just needed a break to go grab some food I was never alone and was fully supported even during his absence. In one of our pre-birth visits we ensured my partner would be with us so we could even practice some of the different labor/birthing positions that my partner could assist me with! She had helped me find comfortable positions to sit in and relaxing techniques during the end stages of my pregnancy when I was uncomfortable. Jeanne was even able to help advocate for my during some of the more difficult parts of my labor when I found it hard to communicate well, because we had discussed and prepared for most of those possibilities during the creation of my birth plan. She was a great source of comfort, strength, support, knowledge, and above all she is one amazing cheer leader! She has a wonderful personality, and was very personable. I had a long labor with some complications towards the end. She never left my side. I honestly do not know what I would have done without her. She was just as big of a part of my child's birth team as my partner and my mom! I know as long as she is a Doula she will be a part of all of our families birth plans!
I engaged Jeanne as a doula for post-birth services for my newborn adopted son. We are from the mid-West but were staying within Jeane's service area in New Hampshire. The adoption timeframe happened very quickly and Jeanne was able to accommodate us by responding quickly to our inquiry. I knew I would be alone in the area far away from home after the baby's birth and my desire was not only to have a doula assist with basic newborn care but to also provide some in-person emotional support. Jeanne ably provided both. She stayed with me for two days and helped me get comfortable with infant feeding, mother-baby bonding, understanding baby cues, baby soothing techniques, resource sharing and also light housework an dmeal preparation when I was focused on bonding/feeding/caring for our new son. Spending two days with someone is intense but Jeanne is very calm and patient and her presence felt very natural. I would highly recommend Jeanne's services. It was a pleasure to have her support and I felt much more relaxed and confident in our baby's care once our time together came to an end. Thank you Jeanne!
I received outstanding care from Jeanne for our first born. She was with me from prenatal classes, labor, delivery and post delivery follow up.At that time my husband was out of the USA and I did not have any family members here.Seriously,Jeanne saved my life!as this was my first pregnancy, you know sometimes you read books, watch videos but you don't really get it..but the more you watch videos, you got scared!
she took me to "birth" classes about the process of labor and delivery, with the goal of making it LESS scary and MORE comfortable so I was empowered to take a more active role in the baby s birth.
She accompanied me to the labor, filmed the baby s birth. As after labor I was very weak, all the time she was there to get the baby from his crib to me and changed him too.She would make sure I had enough drinks and meals. She was very helpful and the good thing is that as the Drs and RNs change shifts or others came at the last minute,Jeanne was there all the time.
I am glad Jeanne had physical stamina too because I was in labor for 19hours.More of that She was able to stay up for long periods and kept encouraging me.
Our first born is now 5 years old and my husband and I are very grateful for what Jeanne did for us that time.Jeanne is friendly, respectful, non judgemental and professional. I would recommend her if you need a doula to rely on.
I'm so thankful for our experience with Jeanne. When we first met with Jeanne I could see how genuine and kind she was and how much she truly loved her job. She answered any questions I had and respected my wishes for a natural birth and promised that she would support me fully to make that happen. She explained all of my options and we made a birth plan I envisioned.
Jeanne and I were in touch via text message and email during my pregnancy, exchanged messages about how I was doing, any progress that was made, etc. I could always count on her for an uplifting and funny message!
Jeanne arrived at the hospital very prompt and was there for all 15 hours of my labor. She was encouraging, knowledgeable, empowering, and had a calm demeanor that was very beneficial. She helped me get through each contraction by breathing techniques and allowing me to lean on my partner for support as well. She never gave up on me and continued to support my birth wishes - I had a healthy baby boy naturally. I could not have done this without Jeanne. She is truly a miracle worker! She was available after my birth via text and email and also made a home visit, which was helpful.
I'm so thankful to have had Jeanne by my side during my transition into motherhood. I'll always be grateful that I was able to have someone with such passion, knowledge and overall great energy as my doula. Thank you, Jeanne!
