She have such a good and positive atittude! :)
Having Marlisha, the Doula Warrior, as my doula for the labor and delivery of my second son was the most divinely orchestrated blessing I could have wished for. From massage and aromatherapy to nature walks and restorative energetic practices, Marlisha brings a lot to the table as a birthworker and that is absolutely invaluable as the coping with the ultimate weeks of pregnancy begin to take their toll on us moms.
Her presence at my homebirth was vital. She used energy work such as reiki, guided visualization, hands on support, and motivational speaking techniques to guide me through a very fast and intense labor. I was able to get control and channel my energy so smoothly thanks to feeling the physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support of my doula warrior, Marlisha. Based on skillset, professionalism, and performance alone investing in Marlisha and/or her students is a decision you will thank yourself for everytime you look in your child's eyes and recall the magical moment they entered our Earth plane through your magnificent body.
Marlisha, the Doula Warrior, is an incredibly powerful being gifted with the ability to truly embody the reality of what giving birth really is... A right of passage towards earning your warrior stripes (which she lovingly adorns you with after you breathe those breaths of exhaustion). I will forever be grateful to what this woman did for me... Thank you Doula Warrior!
Our experience with Marlisha was truly an unforgettable one. Thanks to her level of expertise, patience, loving nature, and support I was able to have a successful VBAC. I truly consider her a godsend. She provided baby and me with so much comfort with all her amazing soothing techniques. She interacted well with the hospital staff, my husband, and was very attentive of me during the entire labor. My husband, and I are so grateful to have met Marlisha and for having her as our doula. She helped make my birthing experience very enjoyable. This was my first time having a doula and we are so glad that God sent us Marlisha. Thank you Marlisha for being by our side in the most important moment of our lives.
Monday August 21st my midwife called in me a doula Marlisha entered after me being in labor for about 8 hours my son was post posterior so all my contractions were in my back I still refused any medicine I wanted everything natural! She instantly made the room calmer she was so prepared and she was even educated and experienced on my birthing plan (Lotus Birth) she was very supportive and so very helpful she made my labor and delivery so much smoother she was amazing and very great at her job I know I wasn't easy to deal with but she remained calm and able to do her job. Thank you so much Marlisha doulas and midwives are the absolute best!!! ??
My labor had to be induced and even then it labor progressed very slowly. When Marlisha arrived at the hospital she immediately began to make me more comfortable and to implement strategies to help my cervix to open. With her help, my cervix opened more quickly and when it was time to push she had tools to help the process that even the doctors and nurses were envious of. It was great to have not only her professional support but also her emotional support. Giving birth can be scary and it meant the world that my support system (husband and doula) believed in me.
Marlisha was absolutely amazing doula!!!! My birth couldn't go any easier and smooth if it wasn't because of her ... she was constantly checking in and the closer we got to my due date the calls became daily and sometimes 2-3 times the same day... I didn't live so close but she always found herself coming to me and visiting me to make sure I was good ... she would help me in many ways ... exercises, walks, she would bring me My cravings while my husband was working to late and will make me laugh when I was emotional watching a movie... she was so awesome and made this experience incredible ... I was early and the day my water broke Marlisha happen to be out on plans but she automatically canceled them and came to my side and stayed by my side until the baby was born and even after she was there ... its been a few weeks and Marlisha still checks in and has come to visit us I couldn't be any more grateful ... thank you so much
I gave birth to my daughter a week ago and I still cannot believe how well the delivery went! I chose to have a natural birth with no pain killers. Although my husband and I took labor classes and felt ready to face the challenge, I chose to include Marlisha as our doula for extra support for me and my husband. Boy, was I glad I did! Marlisha came equipped with knowledge, props, massage and aroma therapy techniques, not to mention pretty good understanding of the hospital and nurses working there due to her previous work with them. She was able to put me at easy, give me just the right words I needed to hear at the hardest point of the delivery and successfully advocate for me and my family. Despite the busy day at the hospital and shortage of natural birthing supplies at the facility, Marlisha was able to improvise to ensure I felt most comfortable.
Besides the delivery experience, I have enjoyed our introductory session with Marlisha, where she took time to go over baby safety, including baby CPR. She hold deep knowlege on baby care for postnatal support in addition to the delivery doula service. I strongly recommend Marlisha for your doula needs.
during delivery of our son, we were lucky to have Marlisha to assist. she helped me allot, what would we do without her help. It was 24 hours induced labor. our first baby, we were worried about delivery, but having a Marlisha, made it so much easier.
Marlisha stayed with us from the beginning til baby was delivered. she used her magic technics to relieve the pain, helped me to make a decision about an epidural.
if anyone wonders to have doula help or not, I would say " Do it". I met with Marlisha when I was 36 weeks pregnant, she show me how to bath a baby, change a diaper, perform CPR and other things what most new mom not familiar with. She helped with a birth plan.
we deeply appreciate Marlisha help. Thank You very much, you made delivery of our son so much easier.
Marlisha was an amazing doula during my birth. I had a long and strenuous labor and delivery, but she made sure it was everything I asked for and more. Her wonderful spirit and energy created an amazing atmosphere for me that made some of the most unbearable moments doable. Thank you so much! I truly appreciate the experience you provided for me to bring my beautiful daughter into the world!
Marlisha was an amazing doula! From weekly visits to daily check ins, it was great having her support leading up to my first birth. She even got my little one cute shoes and a hat as a gift. She is very attentive and caring. Every week she visited she would give me a foot massage and help me relax. On the day of my labor Marlisha was there every step of the way. I was able to contact her at 350am on a Monday when my water broke. As soon as I got to the hospital Marlisha came and stayed with me until I gave birth 27 hours later. There wasn't a moment that I felt alone or unsupported - Marlisha made sure of that. She also made sure that I was as calm as I could be, that I knew I could do it. She put my anxiety to rest. Thank goodness she was there for me. I couldn't have done it without her. Thank you so much Marlisha!!!
I would fully recommend Marlisha Martinez as a birth coach/doula. I met her for the first time in my labor and delivery room, after hours of stalled labor, and she was such a calming and encouraging presence. My first doula from Chicago Volunteer Doulas had a job interview to attend, so after a brief stay (and a shoulder massage) she had to leave. Marlisha was called in as a backup doula and I'm really happy and grateful she was; she really helped make my birth experience a positive one. I wanted to try natural ways of progressing my labor before letting the hospital administor pitocin and she went through her whole 'bag of tricks' with me, from the ribozo (I'm not sure how that's spelled), to foot and hand massage, lavendar scented oil, etc. She walked up and down the hallways with me and made great conversation, helping to keep my mind off of the pain and discomfort. She was super respectful of my preferences and religion, showing a curiosity and interest while maintaining a non-judgemental attitude. In the end I needed pitocin (and ended up getting an epidural too) and she stayed throughout, always upbeat and encouraging (especially when it came time to push - she was so encouraging). Thank G-d, I gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby boy and her experience, expertise, encouragement, respect, and calm and upbeat demeanor really contributed to the wonderful, positive birth experience I had. Thank you so much Marlisha!
Before i had Marlisha as doula, I thought that having a doula was an "extra", but having her made me realise that having a doula was actually a necessity for every birth, it is A Must!
Before the birth of my baby girl, she made sure she met with me every single week, in order for her to connect with me and that I connect with her. Because its my first child, she gave me tips on how to care for a new born. She also explained to me what pain releiving technique we were going to use since my mind was set on going natural, also we talked about whar exactly i wanted in my natural birth. With all this information, she made my birth plan for me...Almost everyday before the birth i had an encouraging message from her and she was always one phone call away...
During my labor she drove me to the hospital , and did not leave my side for the whole 12 hours of labor always comforting me . No matter how much of a monster i had become, she was very patient .Also not only she respected all my wishes but made sure all the staff knew what i wanted and i am so gtateful for that because in this pain it is not easy to remember anything let alone say it.
After birth my doula drove me home and visited me many other times , gave me several tips ..she also sent me the pictures she took of my labor...
Marlisha , I cant thank you enough for all you have done for me ..
Marlisha was respectful, understanding, non-judgmental, and professional. This helped me open up and be able to trust her with such a sacred part of my life In such a short notice (we met while i was in labor). Marlisha enhanced my delivery by making it soulful and serene Just like I imagined it. However, without her services, it would not have been as soulful or peaceful.
