Kelli played a huge role in me having my ideal birth! Her calming presence and extensive knowledge put me and my husband at ease. I cherish the photos she took and look back on my birth experience in a positive light because of her guidance. She continued to follow up postpartum which was so helpful for my "new mom heart" ?? I can't wait for baby #2 with Kelli alongside us!
Kelli was everything we could have hoped for and more! Highly, highly recommend her. She brought such a calming presence to my pregnancy in the months leading up to our daughter's birth and during the whole delivery. As first time parents, she helped us consider scenarios and questions we never would have thought to ask. We trusted her immediately. She helped us prepare for the birth and helped me fully adopt that mindset that our bodies were made for this. We definitely, without question, plan to contact Kelli for any children we may have in the future, as well.
Kelli was amazing throughout our pregnancy, birth, and even post partum! She met with us several times before the birth to discuss our desires and answer our questions as this was our first birth. She also let me borrow a few books and gave us several resources for all things pregnancy-related. Her experience was so reassuring! I contacted her when I knew my contractions were the real deal, and she checked in with me throughout the day. When my contractions started to pick up, she came to our home at 10 pm on a weeknight and stayed up with us through the night, giving tips and reassurance as well as timing contractions. At the birth center, she was right there running bath water, drying me off, and made sure I stayed hydrated and tried to eat. I had a very long, exhausting labor and my sweet husband never left my side, but Kelli made sure he was eating, drinking, and even suggested some power naps to help him be there for me. She is experienced with Spinning Babies and she suggested different positions and maneuvers when we were too exhausted to think of them ourselves. And throughout the entire process, she snapped several photos to document our beautiful, gentle labor and birth which we will forever cherish. She emailed me the photos within 24 hours, checked in with me frequently via text, and visited us one week post partum to talk through our birth and our new lives as parents. I’ve even asked her questions at 2 months post partum and she still responds in a timely and helpful manner. Doulas are amazing (my husband tells everyone to hire one!) but Kelli’s calm, humble, and sweet demeanor was reassuring and absolutely priceless throughout our perinatal period.
We found Kelli via Instagram and met with her very soon after discovering we were pregnant. She was so gracious to meet with us from the very beginning and answered all of our questions regarding her role in our journey to put us at ease. We could tell immediately how incredibly sweet and knowledgeable Kelli is. After that initial meeting, we knew right away that she was the perfect match for us.
Our goal in hiring a doula was to gain reassurance during this process which we've never experienced before. We relied on Kelli for objective advice on our situation, and support throughout our pregnancy. As labor neared, she was invaluable by easing our concerns and worries. She is incredible at empowering and reassuring us that the decisions we were making were in line with what we wanted from our experience. She gave my husband and I the confidence to embrace the unknown of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. We truly could not have imagined a journey without her.
Words truly cannot express how grateful we are to have found Kelli! Her passion is evident, and the resources she provides are irreplaceable. We would 100% use Kelli again and would recommended her to anyone looking for a doula that goes above and beyond to be that support person you need. She is truly the best. We expected a knowledgeable professional when we hired a doula, what we didn't expect was to gain a friend. Do yourself a favor and consider Kelli for a wonderful experience that enriches the entire experince that is having a child.
Words cannot express how thankful we are for the support Kelli provided during our pregnancy, labor/delivery, and postpartum.
After a difficult first birth, I knew I wanted doula support for my second and we are so lucky we found Kelli. We connected with her right away and knew she was the perfect person for the role. She was organized, responsive, super knowledgeable, kind, and warm. I felt supported and truly cared for. She gave me so much confidence that I could have the birth of my dreams and even when I went to 42 weeks, her confidence never wavered. Because of her calm, steady demeanor, I stayed calm and steady throughout my entire pregnancy. I felt so excited to go into labor knowing I would have her by my side. My husband was also very thankful to have her on our team. She gave him peace of mind that I would be well taken care of and he could focus on the emotional aspect of being my labor partner.
In the end, I did have the birth of my dreams and credit so much of that to her. She came to my side as soon as we called on her and stayed with us for a couple hours after birth. She took beautiful photos of the whole process and was so discreet about it. I hardly noticed at all! I cannot recommend her highly enough. She made the whole process smooth and easy from day one and was an incredible, invaluable resource. We will definitely be using her for all of our future births!
I am SO thankful for the amazing support I had throughout my pregnancy and birth. If you are considering hiring a doula I would STRONGLY recommend Kelli. She was extremely informative, personable, professional and just down right a rock solid support during a labor and birth that consisted of lots of hours and twists and turns. She is an extra-mile type person who played such an important role on my birth team. She has a wonderful gift to hold space with her calm presence and she truly shows she CARES for her clients. Thank you Kelli, we appreciate you and your work!!
THE MOST WONDERFUL addition to our birth team! Kelli has been our doula for 3 baby boys born in 2.5 years. From the first moment I interviewed Kelli, I knew we conected. She was kind, knowledgeable, and the best listener I've been around. I wanted all things natural for birth and she had so many ideas for what we could try when the day came. She helped educate, empower and relieve fears of unknowns through our prenatal visits. My husband wasn't sure what to expect and was so thankful for her through each birth. She helped teach us before our first and helped remind us through subsequent births. Each birth was different and she was needed in different ways. Physically, emotionally and for pictures in all! I loved how dynamic her care was. Having her come to my house postnatal was equally as important. It was healing for me to have a female so connected to me and my birth stories. I needed to process each birth and she was instrumental in helping me do that. For our last birth she had a mom go into labor much earlier than expected and was helping her through her birth while we were in labor. She was in contact with me as soon as she knew there may be a conflict and was still hopeful to make both births. She put my husband and myself in contact with a back up doula just in case we would need it. We ended up having our baby faster than our other births and Kelli's back up doula was great. She helped us over the phone and was at the hospital when we needed her. Of course we knew Kelli better and would have loved for her to be there, but were so thankful to know we were in good hands with her colleague. We cannot recommend Kelli enough and would be happy to chat with you and/or your partner when deciding to have a doula at your birth.
I am so glad we found Kelli. She was exactly what I needed in a doula. She is very knowledgeable and does not judge your decisions. I was hoping for a VBAC and Kelli empowered me to be able to advocate for myself in these wishes. During labor she was very calming and was a great resource for my husband. We also loved the photos she took during labor. We will treasure those forever. I wish everyone had the opportunity to have a doula present during this wonderful time of their lives. The postpartum follow up was great and I know if any questions come up I can reach out to her. I would recommend Kelli!!!
Kelli was incredibly valuable in my birthing journey from early pregnancy to post-partum. She was understanding, caring, helpful, and amazing calm throughout my experience in pregnancy and in the delivery room. I would recommend her to anyone considering a doula for their pregnancy and labor-delivery.
My favorite moment with Kelli was in the delivery room. I had received an epidural a few hours earlier and was sleeping. They had cranked up the Petocin overnight as I slept to get me to dilate. Well, I woke up with intense pressure on my cervix and I just knew something was happening. I woke Kelli up (because she stayed with us most of the night as we got some rest) and told her about the pressure. She so calmly just rose from her chair and said,"Okay, let's do this." It made me feel so assured about the best part - the pushing!
Kelli also took the most wonderful birth photos for us so we could concentrate on the delivery and enjoying our newborn immediately post-delivery. She captured the best moments and they look amazing.
Kelli will not only be your doula, but she'll become your friend.
Kelli was absolutely amazing. She took the time to get to know us and what we wanted our labor to look like. Upon arrival to the hospital, she provided physical and emotional support to both my husband and I. She also made sure our birth plan was shared with hospital staff, which greatly helped the flow of our labor. I am so glad she was our doula! I highly recommend her!
Kelli was great! We appreciated her "no agenda" approach. It was great getting to know Kelli during our pregnancy and using that time to outline what we wanted for our birth. During labor she knew exactly what we needed and was there for both of us every step of the way. Kelli also worked great with all the hospital staff. She took lovely photos during our twins unplanned c-section. The photos are a blessing because it was all such a blur.
When we first met Kelli we knew she Was the perfect person to be apart of our pregnancy and birth! She was super kind and her voice was very calming. It was nice to have her come to our home a few times prior to birth, to talk about pregnancy, delivery, and for our dog Wilson to warm up to her :) I was in denial labor was happening but Kelli stayed in touch with me throughout the day and when we felt ready for her to come, she was on her way! We are both so grateful we had her! Her calmness. experience, and knowledge was so helpful during labor. She was amazing at offering new things to try, and to keep me focused on my goal, my tones, my breathing. She helped make my home birth story everything I had hoped for and I’m so grateful we had her. Bonus, we have some pretty sweet pictures during and after the birth to always remember our birth taken by her. She is amazing.
After we found out we were pregnant one of the first decisions we made was to invest in a doula for the birth of our second baby. After our initial meeeting with Kelli we knew she was the perfect fit for us and could help support us in the journey of my pregnancy, our goal of a VBAC and post-partum care. We are so glad we made the investment. Kelli was a tremendous resource throughout my pregnancy and we found our prenatal sessions with her so helpful in ensuring both my husband and I were prepared for and aligned on our birth goals. During my labor, I was so thankful for Kelli’s warm and personal care; ensuring both my husband and I were taken care of and helping us navigate all the ups and downs of labor. We loved being able to share the birth of our son with Kelli and are so thankful for her support and services.
Deciding to hire Kelli as our doula was one of the BEST decisions my husband and I made when planning for the birth of our daughter. Kelli was such a light during my labor and her calm presence and knowledge gave me the strength I needed during the really tough stages of labor. She also provided so much education and support during my pregnancy and the labor process that I found to be invaluable. We were also so excited she was able to document some of the special and intimate moments of childbirth on camera too! I can't say enough wonderful things about Kelli and we would be honored if she would attend any future births we might have! She will always hold a very special place in my heart! XOXO
I would not have changed a thing about having Kelli on my birth team! As a first-time mom, it was such a comfort having her in my corner during my pregnancy, labor and delivery. She was compassionate and present without being obtrusive, and took a lot of the pressure off of the first-time dad too. :)
Kelli's knowledge base and resources helped immensely while I was pregnant and building my birth plan. When my labor did not go as planned because of things we can't control, Kelli helped guide us in those tough decisions to sort out between contractions. She made a scary and stressful situation much easier to navigate. My delivery ended perfectly, and to top it off, she captured the most beautiful photos of the whole wild ride. Those first few moments as a family are precious--but such a blur, getting them on camera is a must!
Her support didn't end there, but continued into the tough postpartum weeks. From beginning to end, she was approachable and caring in response to every little question I had. To this day I would still be comfortable calling her for advice. Truly a doula! Thank you Kelli!
When I found out I was pregnant with our third baby, I knew I wanted extra support through a doula this time around. My husband was on board, and we reached out to Kelli. From the first meeting, we knew she was the right fit to partner with us throughout pregnancy and delivery. She listened to our questions and answered them fully, as well as provided lots of great information for us to help prepare for the birth of our baby. Kelli was extremely prompt and prepared for all meetings, and always went the extra mile through her attention to detail and thoughtfulness. Learning from our experiences in the hospital with our first two children, we knew there were things we wanted to change with our third child. Kelli discussed various options with us, and helped us make a decision which group we wanted to use for prenatal care, and where we wanted to deliver. She also helped us formulate our birth plan to document our labor, birth, and postpartum decisions. When I was in labor, Kelli was reassuring and helped me feel confident about my decisions we had discussed throughout my pregnancy. My husband appreciated having someone to help direct him in the best way, as well as have someone there who could help advocate for me. She was constantly anticipating my needs, which made me feel like I could relax and focus on my labor. Her use of counter pressure on my back and essential oils really helped ease my pain and made me feel as relaxed as possible. She was always kind and professional not only with us but with the midwives and hospital staff as well. Her photography skills are a major added bonus! We love having pictures to help us remember that special day, and are so thankful she was able to capture those first precious moments with our new daughter. Kelli has continued to be a valuable resource after delivery. We truly could not recommend Kelli enough, she's a gem!

Where to begin?! Kelli was an amazing friend from the moment I met her! She was kind and supportive, full of helpful resources and information, and very knowledgeable! Every one of our “planning” meetings with her was so helpful - we walked away from them feeling so supported and ready for the big day!
Our baby arrived later than expected but as we waited Kelli kept in contact via text and phone and was so encouraging through the wait period.
When the big day(s) finally arrived she labored with us at home which was amazing and then even spent the night on the floor of the hospital as we rested through the labor process. She knew exacely what to say and when and it made things go so much smoother I felt like she had our best interest at heart every step of the birth. It was also nice to have someone there who understood birth and could help educate us when different things were presented to us
Since the baby has arrived she’s kept in contact and even visited us and our new little one
She provided such loving support during the labor and the birth process! We couldn’t have done it without her! One of the best decisions we’ve ever made was to have Kelli on our team!
When my husband and I were pregnant with my first child one of the first things I started to research was birthing options, I wanted to educate myself and was overwhelmed with the amount of information out there. We hired Kelli in about our 3rd month and have been so thrilled with the experience of having a doula- I couldn’t have imagined going through the rest of pregnancy and birth without her!
She was an excellent resource for all of my questions throughout the process and such a great comfort on the actual day of labor. I knew I wanted a more natural approach to labor and delivery and Kelli was there for every decision, talking me through my options and helping ensure my wishes were met. Even after delivery she was so supportive in navigating the postpartum period. I will absolutely use her again for my second child and have recommended her to all of my close friends!
My husband and I couldn’t have been any happier with our experience with Kelli. We had multiple meetings prior to deliver where Kelli focused on our questions and concerns and gave us other things to look into and think about so we would be prepared. Considering this was our first child there was a lot we didn’t know about like having a detailed birth plan. We went into labor and delivery feeling very confident and I think that is mostly due to all the help we got from Kelli leading up to the day. She was always available to answer any questions and concerns I had and would check in on me frequently.
When the big day came around I texted her at 3 am and she answered immediatly. As soon as I was ready for her to join us she was there instantly. I wanted to have a natural, drug free delivery and she helped me manage the pain during labor so I could achieve this goal. She was great about suggesting new positions to try, massaging my back during contractions and helping us make decisions that needed made during labor, and reminding us we could take a minute to think about it.
I would highly recommend Kelli if you are looking for a doula. She was a great support for not only me but my husband also. We didn’t know what to expect and he certainly didn’t know how to help but she was there to guide us and the day was perfect.
This was our second time using Kelli and we have only wonderful things to say about both of our birthing experiences. We first used Kelli's services during our second daughter's birth in 2016, and then recently in 2018 for our son's birth. Both experiences were so positive. Kelli helped me to remember my strength as a woman and as a mother, and really assisted me in the natural childbirths that I desired. We love that Kelli is so professional, yet personalable and extremely grounded.
The first time we worked with Kelli, she met me at the hospital where a midwife was going to have to induce me because I was 10 days past my due date. They knew this was not something I wanted to do, so the midwife agreed to strip my membranes and afterward Kelli and hit the halls of the hospital walking, and walking, and walking for about an hour! Finally, contractions started and Kelli supported me throughout my time in the tub with essential oils, and assisting my husband in some pressing of the hands on my back which provided immediate relief. The baby came and Kelli was there to take photos which was an incredible gift!
Although we were pregnant for the third time and I wasn't sure that I would need a doula this time around, my husband and I agreed that it would be nice to have Kelli's services and presence once again. He travels for work so the peace of knowing Kelli would be able to assist me in the labor/birth process in the event my husband was not there, was completely worth it.
This time, my laboring began at home around midnight. I contacted Kelli who met us at the hospital around 3:00am and our son was born an hour and 15 minutes later! Once again, Kelli was a huge support to me with her wet cloths placed on my head and neck when I needed them, and simply having her there to encourage me through the contractions. She had her camera again and was able to take some beautiful photos of the birth which we treasure!
WE love Kelli! :)
We were fortunate enough to have 2 babies 1 year apart and have Kelli help us through both! We loved her so much the first time we booked her for the second as soon as we knew we were pregnant. We were more confident in our birth prep this time around, but knew we needed Kelli to help us through it. This birth was more intense for me and more physically taxing. My husband needed to be in my ear the entire time coaching me to keep going and Kelli jumped in for physical help with keeping me cool, hydrated, fed and helped with back labor. She’s wonderful in the fact of helping you decide what’s needed and with being proactive in anticipating you and your partners needs. She’s always available pre and post birth too. We enjoyed having her as a resource for those times as well. She’s the sweetest person you will ever meet! And bonus, she takes the most precious photos! My husband was equally as thrilled to have her with us both times. She’s part of our family now!
My husband and I decided early on in my pregnancy to include a doula in our birth experience. Kelli was a welcomed presence during my pregnancy and my son’s birth. She offered unwavering support and helped us achieve the birth experience we desired despite encountering some unforeseen complications. From the time Kelli entered our hospital room, she was a calming presence recommending various tools to make us as comfortable as possible. Kelli advocated for the elements included in our birth plan even when I was unable to do so myself. I am so grateful for Kelli’s doula super skills and would highly recommend her if you are looking to include a doula as part of your birth experience.
We were unsure about hiring a doula for the birth of our first child. After meeting with Kelli, we felt she would be a beneficial addition, and we were very pleased with our experience! We met with Kelli a few times before labor to discuss questions and what we wanted from labor and delivery. This was very helpful because Kelli knew exactly what we were looking for, and she was able to be exactly what we wanted and needed throughout the entire process. She was available when we had questions. She was helpful when labor started, and was a very peaceful presence throughout the whole process. She was there and available to help in any way we needed.
I didn't think I wanted pictures of my birth experience, but after I saw what Kelli had captured, I was very happy she had taken them!
Kelli has also been available and helpful after baby arrived with a few questions I've had.
We are very glad we decided to have Kelli as part of our birth team!
It is so important to feel supported leading up to, during, and after your birth experience. Kelli was exceptional throughout and a model doula! She is caring, knowledgeable, and patient (because as a first-timer you don’t know what you don’t know and I had so many questions!) I appreciated hearing her stories from all kinds of births as well as evidence-based info. My husband said she made a huge difference helping him as well. I was induced at 10 days past my due date and now have a healthy 5 week old. Induction is rarely in people‘s birth plans but with the knowledge and emotional support Kelli provided I am happy to say I had a very positive hospital experience! After care isn’t talked about much but Kelli has been exceptional there too by sending resources for baby wearing, breastfeeding support, and healing your own body after birth. Every woman should have a doula and I would gladly recommend Kelli as one of the best in the area.
I have had 3 home births and know what setting and feel I want for the birth experience. Kelli was a perfect fit for my birth space. She was calm, comforting, and gave me the confidence I needed to get the job done! I couldn’t have asked for a better woman by my side during the single most important events of my life. She is just a wonderful person and knows what she is doing!
Kelli is amazing! We planned on interviewing another doula but after meeting with Kelli, my husband said, "I don't really see the point. I don't see how anyone else could be better." And he was right! As a first time mom, she put my mind at ease, especially since my mother and mother-in-law had both passed away. She really was 'mothering the mother'. Kelli is just an easy person to be around. She gave my husband and I valuable information, made us feel as comfortable as she could during this process, and helped me advocate for myself with my doctors. I know it went as well as it did because Kelli was there. We are so thankful for her.
Kelli was not only wonderful during and after the birth of our daughter but she also really helped my husband and I prepare prior to her birth. She helped start conversations between my husband and I that we likely would not have had otherwise. This was very beneficial in my husband understanding what I needed from him during labor. Our VBAC birth went just as planned and I can say without a doubt Kelli had a hand in our dream coming to fruition. I would highly recommend her services to anyone. She went above and beyond for our family!
How does one even begin to put into words how amazing of a doula, woman, friend Kelli is!? With my second birth (first with a doula) I hired Kelli on to join me on my long journey to Vbac. I was still a bit fragile from my first difficult birth experience and was very picky in choosing the right Doula, as I needed a very specific person by my side, and everything needed to be just right. Kelli, from the very first meeting made me feel loved, important, listened to, respected, cared for and excited for my new birth journey. Kelli was there for me in all my moments of wonder & questions. She always supported me when fear crept in and found a way to re-focus me. I was practicing hypnobabies and Kelli went out of her way to read the book and listen to the tracks and essentially learn it herself so she can best support me ( without me asking or expecting her too.) I had a long and hard 2nd birth as well and during the birth she stood by my side for over 24-hours! Kelli was by my side for my 12-hours of Home labor, 12 hours of birth center labor, and a couple hours at the hospital before a repeat csection. She was a warrior Doula and I will be forever grateful for her & her support.
My husband and I had a great experience with Kelli! The meetings we had with her before the birth were so helpful in preparing ourselves - Kelli is an amazing listener and really got a feel for our preferences, fears, etc. Our birth went MUCH faster than we anticipated, so Kelli was really only at the hospital with us for a few hours, but during that time her support was so important. Having her there allowed my husband to take a few bathroom breaks without feeling like he was leaving me alone, and she helped us advocate for ourselves with the hospital staff. After the birth, she made sure I had lists of resources and that we felt supported. Our birth experience was very positive and we highly recommend Kelli!
My husband and I didn't have a doula with baby number one and decided we wanted one for our second. Our goal was to be better prepared for labor and to have someone come along side us who had the knowledge and experience with labor and delivery and someone who could assist with natural pain management. Kelli was a perfect fit for both of us! She is very sweet and calming. She was all about our needs and wants. She was a life saver for my husband and I the day of delivery and helped us ensure it was a perfectly special day!! An added bonus were pictures she took to help us never forget the day we met our little one!
We cant say enough amazing things about Kelli! After our first meeting, both my husband and I felt so confident that we wanted to have Kelli as part of our birth team. Her calm and caring demeanor was both relaxing to me during our prenatal meetings and during labor/delivery. She had great insight on the hospital we were delivering at due to her experience there. During labor she suggested different laboring positions, made sure I was drinking water and had amazing massage techniques that were so crucial to getting through both labor and delivery. After delivery she stayed with us and answered questions we had and gave an extra level of comfort, but also allowed my husband and I to have our special first moments with our son. Kelli also took amazing pictures during labor and after delivery, something that I wasnt thinking I really NEEDED. They turned out being something I couldn't live without. The memories she provided for us through her photography can't be replicated and are so special to look back on! I would recommend Kelli to everyone. My husand and I already talk about hiring her again if we have a second child! In the end we had an amazing birth experience and couldnt have done it without Kelli!
My wife Sami Jo and I were very pleased with our doula services and Kelli.
She brings a natural calming energy of experience and knowledge to the birthig process.
We are grateful for her positivity and hands on guidance through the enitre experience before and after the birth of baby Lola.
She provides an unbiased and supportive resource to you and your baby to be.
We would whole heartedly recommend her to any first time parents and repeat parents alike.
Kindest regards, Matt Tappe
From the first time I met Kelli, I knew she needed to be part of our birth. She is extremely genuine, likeable, knowledgeable, and open minded. She truly wants you to have the birth experience you plan for, as well as help you get the information you desire to properly educate yourself before you meet your baby. She was instrumental in our preparation and clutch during our labor and birth. She was with us for the entire 17 hours at the hospital and as a bonus took the most beautiful birth photos! Kelli is an extension of our family and we will absolutely have her at the birth of our future children!
My birthing class instructor told me about Kelli. Because of how my class was, I was slightly nervous of what Kelli would say about me having a hospital birth with a doctor and possible meds. Right away I felt comfortable with her. Kelli was super sweet and all about what I wanted for my birthing experience. It's very obvious that this is Kelli's passion. She has a heart for mommies, babies and helping them through the birthing journey/process. Kelli was a huge blessing to me before, during and after the birth of my little one.
We had our second daughter mid- December of 2016 and had decided to use a doula this time. My intention was to have a natural, vaginal childbirth for this labor/delivery as well. My daughter was ten days past her due date which is when the midwives group I was working with informed me that I would need to be induced on day 10. This left me upset and worried that I would be unable to have the natural, vaginal childbirth I was hoping to have. Fortunately, my Kelli (our doula) met us at the hospital shortly after our arrival. We decided on having the midwife break my water and waited to see if we could get contractions to happen naturally, without having to be induced.
Kelli and I walked a mile or two in the halls of the hospital while trying to see if we could get something started. Thankfully, the contractions came on strong and we were able to avoid induction. Kelli was fantastic. She supported me through varying exercises on the stability ball, postions on the bed, kept me company while I was in the whirlpool with her oils, and used some hands-on pressure for my lower back when I was in the most pain. Her presence throughout my laboring expeience was so calm and encouraging. My husband was grateful to have the extra support this time as well. It was an added bonus to have Kelli using her photography skills to capture some special moments of our labor with her camera.
We have recommended Kelli to a number of others who are trying to conceive and some who are currently expecting. Having someone like Kelli to work with throughout my pregnancy really helped to keep me on track with my decision to have a natural childbirth. She was extremely helpful with her tips, emails, resources and home visits. We are eternally grateful to have crossed paths with Kelli and will forever remember her as a part of our second daughter's birth story.
Where do I begin? My experience with Kelli was so incredible! I never thought I'd have the opportunity to have a doula during my labor experience but when I was presented with Kelli being my doula to complete her certification I just couldn't pass up having help.
Kelli helped in more than the labor process but in the prep leading up to the L&D time. We reviewed labor plan options and delivery outcomes possibilities and also what I wanted to happen after delivery...this is what was known as the "Birth Plan". However when the day came...the "plan" we had just didn't happen regarding the delivery...but the other plans did which was nice to have in place.
I labored for almost 3 days and ended up having a csection due to complications (I just was not dialating). We walked a lot and did methods that enabled me to manage the labor pain without medication (labor chair, back massage, pressure points applied). She was very calming and reassured me which helped me push through the pain. I did eventually get pain medication and I was grateful to have her support in that decision and did not feel guilty when it was time to go to that next step...she was amazing through every step of the process. She provided so much encouragement.
I could go on and on about how wonderful Kelli was during my birth experience...I feel that she made the whole experience special. She made me feel at ease and in the end I felt she wasn't just my doula but someone I could call my friend. I felt that her personal touch to my care and treatment went beyond the clinical sense and she was that caring and supportive person I needed during such an important time in my life. I'm forever thankful for meeting Kelli and encourage anyone that is seeking a doula to choose Kelli, she won't let you down and will help make your birth experience a beautiful one:)
