I had a great experience with Mayte. Throughout my pregnancy i had many questions and concerns and she was always able to help me through them and give advise to help. Mayte provided me with unbiased information i needed to make informed decisions on certain things during my pregnancy that could have harmed me or my baby. The night i went into labor we messaged back and forth- and called a few times. We weren't sure if i was in actual labor but we knew something was going on so we met at the hospital. Right away she could tell that my baby was not in the right position so she used rebozo techniques on me. Multiple times, because the baby kept turning. She also helped me keep calm or return to calmness during contractions- reminding me why i didnt want the epidural and that i could keep laboring. I was almost there. After my boy was born she also stayed to make sure i could latch him on. She did an amazing job in helping me achieve the birthing experience i wanted. I am very satisfied with my birth in regards to Mayte and her help as a doula, and a friend.
Having Angeles as my doula helped to make my son’s birth a wonderful experience. Angeles is so friendly and caring. She's an absolute sweetheart. Even now, a month after the birth, she still keeps in contact via text and email. I’ve had various questions about breastfeeding (would my milk ever come in?) and baby poop color (is cottage cheese poop normal?). Throughout it all, Angeles has been an absolute wealth of information. She’s been very helpful in easing the fears of this new-again mama.
During the birth, I was pretty hands off for the most part. But I truly value Angeles being there. She was ready with different relaxation techniques and helped to keep me from tensing up. Not only that, but she was there FOR ME. Towards the end, the midwives didn’t seem to believe that my son was ready to come out. She’s the one who got the midwives in the room. When the midwives wanted me to try pushing while sitting on the toilet, it’s Angeles who got them to listen when she told them that YES, my baby was coming out and I really was afraid of having him on a toilet! A few short minutes later, and my little one was born… and not on the toilet. Quietly (for the most part) and sooo stress-free. Angeles was an absolute angel throughout the birth. If you’re looking for a doula, I recommend her whole-heartedly.
Angeles attended my birth as a replacement when my hired doula had to leave me due to sickness. I had never met Angeles but she immediately made me feel comfortable! When she arrived to Baylor Hospital, I was already at 4cm and having pretty intense contractions. She was able to jump right in and start to work! She did such a great job helping me cope with the pain of natural birth. She put pressure on my lower back each time a contraction occured and this helped tremendously! She also is able to do acupressure and used this for me to help my contractions along. I had a 12 hour labor and pushed for 3 hours at the end and I am so thankful I had her help to make it through it. Angeles was professional and you can tell that she loves what she does. She also was great to follow up with me at my postpartum visits. I highly recommend her services!
