Ana was a godsend to our family. After a tough start with our baby in the NICU, we needed someone compassionate to guide us through those early days, and she was exactly that. She helped me process everything and gave me the confidence to navigate postpartum.

Breastfeeding was especially challenging and I’ll always be grateful for her encouragement. I will cherish the nights we spent talking while she observed and guided me through it. Thanks to her support and the amazing lactation consultant she recommended, we made it through.

Ana also took care of me in ways I didn’t even know I needed. The recovery meals she cooked helped me heal quickly after my C-section, and the lactation cookies and teas supported my milk supply. She truly focuses on taking care of parents so they can take care of their baby.

Most importantly, our baby was happy and comfortable with her. I can’t imagine those early weeks without Ana, and we’re so grateful for her.

We were so lucky to find Ana, she is a lovely and knowledgeable doula, she helped me getting prepared for my baby's birth, identifying my needs and know the type of experience I wanted.
I felt supported knowing she was in the delivery room, she ensured everything was exactly as I planned it, having the less intervention possible. Ana was everything I could had asked for in a doula, she has lots of experience, she is sweet, knowledgeable and the most important, she made me feel with control over my pregnancy. I'm sure my baby's birth would had been totally different if Ana wouldn't had shared her knowledge and experiences with us. 
I think hiring Ana is one of the best decisions I could have taken during my pregnancy and we are very thankful we had her with us.
We would love working with her again in the future if there is the opportunity.

Literally Had My Back: We hired Ana after interviewing her and another doula, a process I highly recommend you do.  I connected with Ana right away.  Warm, affectionate and very knowledgeable, what I needed in a doula.  Leading up to labor Ana was there to answer any of my questions, talk me through any decision making I had, and was my biggest cheerleader.With a calming effect on both my husband and I.  Being our first pregnancy with no idea what to expect, when to call our midwives & more importantly if everything I was experiencing physically was “normal”.  Extremely supportive & used positive affirmations/language that kept us calm & positive. Ana was at our place before active labor kicked in.  It was a back labour & I found it challenging. Ana was right by my side, literally had my back, applying pressure to comfort me.  Fondly looking back at the experience and remember me yelling, “Ana my back”. At one point during labor she was at my bed side on the floor, applying pressure on my back while I caught up on sleep.  It shows her dedication.Ana supported me in my decisions, fed me orange slices, supported my husband & encouraged me to dig deep to push our little miracle out.  That and much more.  After labor, Ana made us both a meal, cleaned up as we had a home birth & made sure we were cozying up with the baby before she left. Checked in on us days after labor, made sure mama was healing and more importantly resting.  She came over with a perennial wash and checked in to make sure baby was latching on and feeding.We still keep in touch & shes always always made herself available to answer any concerns, questions that I have while navigating motherhood.  I know we will always be in touch after sharing such an intimate experience.I would, with confidence refer Ana to any one that is looking for a incredible doula.

We knew right away that Anastasia was the doula for us. She is professional, passionate and knowledgeable, and has a warm and comforting presence. Ana answered our questions throughout my pregnancy, and was instrumental in helping me find my courage during labour. While I was pregnant, my husband and I were concerned about who would care for our toddler during my delivery. Ana helped us come up with a solution that worked wonderfully for our family and allowed us to feel at ease and focus on welcoming our baby. We are extremely grateful to Ana for the encouragement, attentiveness, and support she provided as our doula.

Ana is clearly passionate about being a doula and she works tirelessly to show and give support. I so appreciate her and her big heart. She’s the best listener. It‘s part of what makes her a great doula. Ana obviously pushes herself to give you the best and she also does it with a smile and a laugh that is also therapeutic! We moms need that too.

As a first time mom, Ana was such a comforting presence during the birthing process. She was calm and encouraging throughout and so hard working! I also used the hypnobirthing techniques and Ana was well versed and supportive of using the hypnobirthing language and process. I felt completely supported and would highly recommend Ana’s services.

I found Ana through her work partner on this site. I gave birth at home with the help of midwives and her back In November last year. I am a single mom and came to Canada in July to give birth. I did not know anyone back then, besides my auntie. But she was busy to even attend my birth. I was advised by my midwives to find a doula. And thank gosh I gave birth with her help because I would have never imagined going through 36 hours labour by myself.

I am also not working at the moment, and when I contacted her I told her that I was strained with financial issues. She was able to provide me sliding scale fee for her services.

Besides being a doula, she was also helping me to encapsulate my placenta.

I would recommend her services as a doula. She is doing an amazing job. I would definitely use her again when I have more kids in the future.

I never thought I'd hire a doula, but I'm so glad I did!!!

It's my abosulute pleasure to recommend Anastasia Spivak for her doula service.  It was my last minute decision to hire a doula right before my scheduled c-section so I called a few numbers that were listed online on a doula website.....I was referred to Anastasia by one of the doulas.  Prior to my surgery; I spoke to Anastasia on the phone, and met her in person.....she answered all my questions, and I found her to be very easy going, and she made me feel comfortable.

I'm so glad that Anastasia was my doula.  She is very knowledgeable and experienced....she's a parent as well, so she understood what I was going through.

It was very difficult to move around and practically do much after my c-section.  Anastasia put me at ease by passing my baby over to me from the basinette, holding my baby while I rested, swadding her, and comforting her while I healed....  I found her to be alert, informative and very caring.  She did a fantastic job!

Ana was our postpartum doula and I am so glad we hired her. She was extremely helpful to our family since the first days in the hospital, where she was able to come on a very short notice. She is very knowledgeble, but doesn't push her opinions. When I look back at our first weeks with our newborn daughter, I think of one night when Ana was on a night shift with us and she suggested I try using a nipple shield (I was not able to latch my baby). Turned out, I actually had a shield at home, but didn't know how to use it. We tried it at the next feed and my baby latched right away! It was the most wonderful and magical moment that I will remeber forever. If she did not suggest it, if I continued to pump for a few more days or weeks, maybe breasfeeding wouldn't have happened for us at all. Seems like such an easy solution now, but, first time parents, we just didn't know.

In addition to her help with breastfeeding and taking care of our baby, Ana cooked delicious recovery meals for me (that my husband also enjoyed), did grocery shopping, pharmacy runs and some house chores. She picked up quickly on what we needed and was able to do a lot within the hours of her shift, often without us needing to ask. I would highly recommend her as a portpartum doula!

Ana is awesome!

We were on the fence as to whether to bring a doula onto the journey of child birth.

Having only had one friend mention using a doula for their childbirth, we didn’t know if it was important and valuable  Having had Ana’s help before, during and after birth we are so happy we found her.

She helped us make the most informed decisions at each step of the way and made our delivery go so much smoother.

The longer visits before and after birth at home are nice to have deeper discussions than what are possible in the shorter midwife or doctor office visits.  We also appreciated some of the alternative approaches from western medicines that Ana could suggest to help with several conditions that came up.

From the first moment of meeting Ana, I knew I was in good hands. She is very kind, knowledgeable and puts you at ease right away. I found her late in my pregnancy, and was seeking knowledgeable support in my natural hospital birth. She put my fears at ease and helped me to find the strength in voice to put forward what I wanted in my birth to my doctor and in my birth plan at the hospital.
From the beginning I knew I wanted as natural a birth as possible and to stay at home as long as possible, but I needed knowledgeable support to help me in this to keep my environment calm and to be my voice if I lose it in the midst of my first birth.
She was all this and more, throughout my birth from the time she arrived her calm presence added to the atmosphere of my birth. She was an anchor when needed and helped me to let go into each wave. When my fears took hold, she brought me back and helped me find my strength again. She was seamless in her help and support of my support as well.
In the hospital, where I was most afraid she never left my side and held my hand in the entire delivery. If I was lost I needed only look into her eyes and see her strength and belief in my abilities to keep moving forward.
My birth experience would not have been the same without her.
Her aftercare has been wonderful as well, in making sure my lil one and I are well supported and that our needs are met, she has many resources and knowledge about everything I’ve learned and faced so far as a first time mom.
If I were to have another child, Ana would be the first person I would contact to be there as my support.
I began by looking for support and left with a sister.

I had my son in November. My doula was Ana! I love Ana. I had chosen her a few months before my birth.
I messaged her the morning I felt my contractions were starting. She came very quickly after and stayed with me the entire day and hours after I had my son. She has a calm energy and made me feel like I was in control of my birth. Ana helped the midwives clean up after my birth and didn't leave to go home until I was comfortable in my bed with my newborn baby.
She stopped by a couple of days later and helped me out with dishes and again didn't leave till I was resting in my bed.
Thank you Ana for being there during the most exciting and humbling time in my life.

I chose Ana as my doula because her calm and kind disposition put me at ease right away. [...] Since I came to her late in my pregnancy, I had already been working with obstetricians and they recommended I be induced at 39 weeks because I was over 40. Ana was with us every step of the way and answered all my questions. When I finally began having strong contractions after being induced, she came to our apartment and ended up sleeping on the floor beside our bed and coaching me through so that we didn't go to the hospital too early. The next day we did go and I was seven and a half centimetres dilated and was admitted right away. Ana ran a bath for me and she and my husband took turns sitting with me for several hours. She provided a great deal of support to me and my husband throughout the entire process including four hours of pushing! When I first became pregnant, I thought that I just wanted a healthy baby and that it didn't matter how he or she came into the world and since I was 41 with my first, I was told that there was a higher chance that I would have a c-section. In the end, I took it step by step and when Ana and my husband said I could do it, I started believing them. I had 34 hours of labour and delivered vaginally with no epidural and we now have the most beautiful baby boy. I'm not sure I would have believed in myself enough to do that if I hadn't had Ana's support. Her service is amazing and she completely invests all of herself into giving her clients the most positive birth experience possible. I was told a lot of different things about being pregnant at my age but Ana knew that I was healthy and strong and had faith that I could have a natural birth. Hiring her was the best thing I did for myself and our baby during my pregnancy. I would recommend Ana with all my heart to any mother-to-be.

As a full time mother and student, it was so helpful to have Ana over to watch my son while I was able to get some work done. She was so thoughtful to ask what else I needed done around the house to make things a bit easier on me. She was so kind to my son and really engaging; I would absolutely recommended Ana as a mother helper to anyone who is looking for an extra pair of hands, or even just for good company!

Ana is a wonderful care taker!  She is warm and kind and was fully present and attentive with me and my 5 month old baby.  Her experience as a doula and a mother make her an excellent support.  At 5 months post pardum, I was exhausted and in need of help.  As soon as Ana arrived, I felt and ease and trust immediately.  At the end of that day, I asked Ana if she would come back for extended work.  I felt so lucky to have met her.  I would recommend her to any new parent, and I imagine she would be an excellent doula to any birthing parent.  Highly recommend.

Ana was a great support to us amidst four kids under four. She was flexible with the application of her skills and willingness to find suitable hours which worked for us all (we wanted to be mindful that she is  a mum too! ) It was great to have an extra person  to give contact time with our newborns so we could keep our older kids in their routine while we all got used to the new additions and their needs.
