Hiring Amy was the BEST decision for our birth experience!!! We LOVE her!

When I stumbled across Amy’s profile I was so hopeful that she would be a perfect match to help my husband and I through the birth of our first child. I immediately scheduled a time for us to meet. Upon meeting Amy, both my husband and I KNEW that Amy was the right fit for us and we our birth experience would be enhanced by hiring her.

Amy is so kind, sweet, knowledgeable, professional and supportive. She is calm and has a wonderful, peaceful presence. Amy was great at promptly answering any questions or concerns we had and giving us advice as we approached our due date.

We were so fortunate to have Amy by our sides during my long labor of our big boy! I will never forget how she supported me, my husband and our midwives during and after labor.

I appreciated Amy checking in with me after birth and coming to our house to check in on me and my newborn son. Hiring Amy as our doula was a wonderful experience. We highly recommend her to everyone and hope to use her again in future pregnancies! Amy is worth every penny. You won’t be dissapointed!

I love Amy! She was our Doula for both our daughter and son. She was extremely tender when she needed to be, strong when she needed to be, and an incredible support to both my husband and I. Our scenario was a bit different, in that both kids were born with a spontaneous pneumo-thorax. Which means, they both had one deflated lung and both times we had to be transferred from a home birth to the NICU. While this can be a scary situation, we were blessed to have Amy and moreso, my husband relied on her for strength, direction and peace of mind during the intense labor (all natural) and the challenging afterward.

Amy assisted in my struggle to find the perfect midwife and affirmed my concerns when the one we had suggested that I didn't need my husband during labor. She recognized exactly what I needed, even when I couldn't speak during labor, and was quick to tell my husband to take a nap, have a rest, etc. We both agreed that having her there was what made the process even better. If we decided to have another, Amy would be there for sure!

Amy was amazing! I felt because of our shared common faith God brought us together! My first pregnancy started in a birthing center and ended in a c-section. I decided to hire Amy as my doula who came highly recommended for my second birth. I was determined to have a VBAC. Amy was a 100% supportive and so respectful to all my wishes for labor and delivery. From the beginning Amy made me feel confident and encouraged me through out the entire pregnancy. She has a wealth of knowledge and if she didnt know an answer she would find out. She’s great to have on “D” day and you will not regret hiring her for one of the most amazing moments of your life.

Amy was there for every grunt during my delivery- literally. She breathed with me, was at my side, and supported me through every single minute of labor. If you want a doula who is not only skilled, but completely dedicated to you as a woman going through child birth and as a new mom, you will not be dissapointed with Amy- not to mention her super sweet personality! Fortunately, we did not have any complications with the birth nor with breastfeeding, but Amy was very thorough with her post natal check-ins to make sure everything was going smoothly. Thank you for being such a wonderful, caring doula, Amy!

Ive known Amy for quite a few years. It was when my husband and I decided to have our first baby that we were very excited to hire Amy on as our Doula! Little did I know how much of an impact on our family she would make. My intention with hiring Amy was to have someone for my husband to rely on while I was in labor.  Our beautiful daughter was born November 2017 with a collapsed lung  and you can imagine how intense that was for my husband and I to go through.  Because I was emotionally checked out from the shock of labor, Amy was the rock that my husband was able to stand upon for encouragement and guidance.  After what he would call, a traumatic experience, he has consistently said that Amy is a huge blessing to our family and he will be forever grateful. He fully expects to hire her next time for baby number two. As for my personal experience,  I never expected to need Amy as much as I did while giving birth. She held my hand, she had amazing words to share, and she didn't complain once when I shouted so loud that it probably hurt!  I would say, you are doing yourself a disservice by not having Amy as part of your team. Because that's what it takes, a whole team, to bring that glorious baby into the world.

Amy is an incredible doula!  She is the type of person that feels like your sister or best friend the moment you meet her.  She maintains the perfect blend of support; stepping in when you need it but allowing you to labor in the way that makes everything sucessful for you! She truly understands being a coach. During both deliveries, she knew EXACTLY what to do to bring relief and help move the process along.  Whether it was teaching me the best way to breath, the benefit in locking eyes, or the pain relieving massage; she is just gifted in helping!  She was my strongest advocate and help, pointing me in the direction of material that would help prepare me for a natural birth.  She is unique in her abiiity to give honest expectations about pregnacy, delievery, and post pardum that doesn't produce fear or concern but a resolve to be able to complete the process with joy and excietment. It made all the difference for me.  I knew what to expect and it allowed everything to go smoothly.

A few details--

She encouraged my husband to be fully part of the process, he is iso incredibly thankful for her direction. Having caught both babies was a surreal experience for him, that he had not wanted to do, but now realized what he would have missed out on.

In my third trimester, I made a comment to Amy about a symptom I was dealing with, not realizing it was potentionally serious.  Amy, being the thoughtful, intentional listener that she is, referred me back to my midwife and as it turned out, I had an issue that could have caused my son to be stillborn if left unmonitored.  It was her genuine care for me and my baby that caused me to follow up and I am so thankful for her expertise in that!

I highly recommend Amy.  Whatever type of birth or situation you are encountering, she will bring an emotional and physical support that is so irriplaceable!

When we were expecting our first baby in 2011, I interviewed two doulas - Amy impressed me from our first meeting and choosing her was a no-brainer.  She was extremely knowledgable, had multiple answers/options for every scenario I presented to her, and was just truly so caring and passionate that I knew we wanted her with us.  I wanted a natural birth but was prepared for an alternate route if necessary.  In the end I needed an emergency c-section (baby's head size seemed to be at odds with my hip size); however, while I labored, Amy was right there, coaching with useful techniques, making sure my husband and I were working together, and being another advocate for us and our baby. She was supportive leading up to the birth, during, and after.  When I wondered whether I could keep going with the nursing, she talked me through the discomfort and I went on to breastfeed for 12 months. So glad I stuck with it for my little one. We found Amy very personable, encouraging, and easy going.

Wow! Amy was a God send! My whole life i desired to have an all natural birth. Amy not only exceeded my expectations, but my husbands as well!! She was beyond helpful and generous with her time and talent! She helped guide me through my birth plan as it was my first baby. I knew nothing but Amy was always there to help me with any questions i had. My dream came true, my baby boy came to us 3 years ago ALL NATURAL and because of Amy’s role I was able to do it! She was encouraging, full of all the info i needed to get me through. Transition was the hardest and Amy was so calm, but firm as I began to want to loose it lol She knew emotionally and physically exactly what to do at just the right time! She encouraged my husband to join in too. He wanted to have more of a hands off role but because of her encouragement to Mike, he jumped right in and is grateful for her prompting. We grew closer together and it made our birth story even more special and meaningful!! Thank you Amy! I recommend Amy to any and all moma out there considering a doula!!

I am so thankful that Amy was there for me during my last childbirth! It was my 5th baby and I had decided that I wanted to have a natural childbirth this time. I spoke to Amy and she reassured me that I could do it and that she would be there to help support me if I wanted her to be. During my labor Amy was so calm, comforting and reassuring. She helped me focus, stay in control and I know that if not for her I know that it would have WAY harder! Amy is so sweet and kind.  She is also very knowledgeable and is a great listener. I would recommend her to anyone!

Thanks again Amy for helping us bring our little guy into this world!

I was determined to have a natural child birth but instantly became nervous when my doctor informed me that I needed to be induced.  My doctor had warned me about how painful it would be due to the medications used to induce labor and why natural childbirth would likely be too painful.  I remember calling Amy to let her know what my doctor had said.  And I remember the calming, reassurance she gave me in response.

When I found out I was pregnant, I knew that I wanted to have a natural birth experience in a hospital.  After doing some research, I realized that I needed the assistance of a doula to help me achieve the birth I had hoped for.  And I found the perfect doula in Amy Melton.

Amy is kind and knowledgable.  She loves her "job", which is clearly more of a passion.  Any time I had questions or concerns throughout my pregancy, she was available to help calm my nerves and explain what was happening to prepare my body for delivery.  Wise and calm,  Amy was exactly who I needed in the delivery room on November 30th to help me bring my baby boy into the world.

When labor became painful and I questioned my ability to go on without medication to dull the pain, Amy didn't shame me into follow through.  Amy did remind me of why a natural delivery mattered to me in the first place and she helped me to breathe low through painful contractions.   And I did it!!

Amy was beside me my entire labor experience, start to finish.  She communicated on my behalf with hospital staff through staffing changes and when nurses tried to rush me away from my birth plan.  She was a true advocate for me throughout my entire pregnancy, but especially on the delivery day when I had no idea what to expect.

She was a vital part of making my delivery story such a beautiful memory - which was exactly what I had hoped for!  Thanks, Amy! xx

I've had 3 babies without a doula but on my 4th pregnancy, I asked Amy Melton to be my doula. I then found out it would be twins! She helped me SO much. After our experience with Amy, my husband and I regret not having a doula at our first three childbirths! She intuitively knew what I needed before I even knew what I needed. Amy was such a strong, yet gentle support for both me and my husband through the birth of our twins. My husband became a huge fan of doulas after that.  I can't imagine going through labor and delivery without her there coaching me along and anticipating and supporting my every need. Amy's bedside manner is so calming, and gentle, and yet she empowers you to be able to get through one of the hardest, yet most beautiful experiences of your life. She was a treasure that I'm so thankful for. She helped me with my birth plan and advocated for me when I couldn't, to make labor and delivery everything I wanted it to be.

9 months later I had a surprise pregnancy! Amy was the first call! I knew I needed her again. Unfortunately, at around 12 weeks, that pregnancy ended in miscarriage. I labored and delivered at home and Amy coached us through the whole thing with such love and care. Her emotional support was a gift and I highly recommend her.
