Tracy was wonderful to work with through the birth of our baby boy! She is very passionate about the birth process and is an excellent communicator. In our prenatal visit, she came up with unique ways to get my partner and I to open up. We drew pictures and discussed our fears. She provides lots of resources for mothers and fathers, which was especially helpful as first time parents. When she arrived at the hospital on our delivery date, we felt a big sigh of relief that everything was going to be ok! Overall Tracy is a great doula, she's approachable, fun, and we really enjoyed working with her!

We had been going to a midwife partnership throughout my pregnancy that, for the most part, we were pleased with but apprehensive about services they may or may not provide to us, the parents, during birth and labor.   A hospital environment was new to me, even at age 42, and so was birth and all things "baby".  When Tracy said she was studying to be a doula, we eagerly jumped at the opportunity to have her strong, experienced (she has given birth in her remote home to 3 beautiful children that I have long admired), gentle presence with us.  I was induced after 2 very long weeks being overdue which got the ball rolling in a way I wasn't entirely glad about but we had decided (with Tracy's encouragement) to not have any preconceived notions of what this birth would be like and just fully accept however it unfolded.  The ridiculously long labor started slowly and Tracy came prepared with all sorts of labor paraphernalia that brought relief and humor to a weary team - and we really felt like a team, with Tracy having a natural feel for when to head up the team and when to lay back and let a midwife or myself lead.  I try to picture what this 24+ hour labor would have been like without Tracy and I dread the thought.  She had ideas to help open my mind and body and was never offended when I said offensive things.  She rolled with us like water.  While you couldn't pay me to relive this experience, it was one that has shaped my every day since.  So special.  So otherworldly.  So arduous.  Tracy is forever intertwined in our precious family.
