Finally getting around in writing a testimonial for Gina. I am breastfeeding my daughter as I type, I look down at my sweet girl and I can’t imagine her birth story, our birth story without Gina! She is simply amazing!! From two people (my husband and I) who were (at the beginning) a little apprehensive about the doula process, Gina made us feel so comfortable! At our birth she took charge when we needed her but also provided my husband and I opportunity to have our time. Every person I encounter (pregnant or not) I explain how critical it was to have a doula. I explain that without Gina I have a strong feeling that our birth story wouldn’t have been as positive as it was. We love you Gina! Xoxo The Roy’s

My husband and I decided we wanted a doula's support in our birth late in our pregnancy. We found out about the role of a doula through our birth class and instantly knew we would want that kind of support! The first doula we met with, Gina from the Sown Seed, made us feel so comfortable and supported in our birth preferences from the moment we met her! We decided we didn't need to talk to anyone else, and that she was the perfect match. Gina was able to provide us with very comprehensive and holistic support throughout our journey. She met with us before birth to make official birth preferences and ensure we were all on the same page and confident with our approach and goals, supported us through the intense experience of labor, ensured we felt comfotable postpartum before leaving, and checked in on us a week or so later to talk through how things were going and offer more support! I honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience and thanks to Gina I was able to acheive the birth I always hoped for while feeling confident, comforted, and safe. I will absolutely seek out her care again with my future pregnancies and would highly recommend her to anyone on this journey!

Gina is great!! We used hypnobabies because we wanted a natural birth and she was able to make us feel comfortable in knowing what to do. We had a great pre birth meeting and she took her time with us to make sure we felt ready for what was to come. Our baby decided to come fast and furiously (born only 17 min after arriving at the hospital) so unfortunately we didnt have the pleasure of having Gina during the birth, but she was on her way (it was rush hour as well) and once she got there she spent time with us making sure our baby was latching correctly, helped with nursing positions, and took our placenta to make our capsules. She even gave us extra postpartum visits to make up for missing the birth. She is readily available day or night for random texts with questions like "why is there a white spot on my nipple?" And, "can you come show me how to get my tiny baby inside this Moby wrap?". She has so many great resources and referrals for things she truly is a great go-to before and after baby comes! I love that she makes everything so comfortable and she is so sincere and really does love her job!! We plan to use her again and hopefully next time actually get to use her for the birth ;)

My husband and I could never have had such a great labor experience without Gina. She was able to adapt to both of our personalities- which are polar opposite, and be exactly what we both needed to have a positive birth experience. If we have anymore children, we will definitely be hiring Gina again!!

Gina was a wonderful Doula and such a blessing to have as part of the birth of our first child. I had a really long labor and Gina was there with us for all of it. She was so kind and helpful before, during and after labor. My husband and I both are so thankful for her support and that she was apart of our birth  our son. If you are looking for a doula I would definitely recommend using Gina!!

We had an incredible experience with Gina as our lactation support specialis! She was there for us every step of the way and went out of her way to come to our house literally the same night we came home from the hospital. With us being new parents, we felt overwhelmed at first with how to breast feed properly and had a lot of questions. The hospital was overwhelming at times with people coming in to check on things constantly. But Gina was so helpful and understanding. She had some great techniques that we would have never known about if it wasn’t for her. She helped ease the transition and we were already doing so much better that same night. We are very thankful for her and she’s always there to answer our questions and help when we need it!

We have been telling anyone who will listen how essential Gina was to our peace of mind, confidence and physical/mental health leading up to and especially during our birth.  If you are looking for someone steadfast and professional, who will tailor whatever evolving support you need to your exact needs (pointing you to vetted prenatal/postpartum/parenting resources, making you laugh, feeding you in between contractions, making you - and importantly your partner - feel totally empowered and capable), Gina is your doula.  She put us instantly at ease the second we met her and somehow kept us feeling that same sense of ease throughout the biggest, scariest, most amazing thing we've ever done.  We feel so grateful to have had her with us and can't recommend her highly enough.

I would highly recommend choosing Gina of The Sown Seed to be your doula! She was great to work with-I felt so comfortable talking to her about anything and everything. She made me laugh and just feel more relaxed prior to my birth, during labor and delivary and in postpartum. I tend to be really anxious about things and she did a great job of reassuring me and easing my fears. I first met with Gina when I was 36 weeks pregnant as I wasn't sure if I wanted a doula, my first doula experience with a different doula for my first child was ok so I wasn't sure if it was worth it for my second child but it definitely was! Just having that support person to contact during labor & Delivary and postpartum made a world of difference for me. I ended up going into labor and having my daughter at 38 weeks so unfortunately we didn't get a prenatal visit in but Gina just jumped right in during labor and was a huge support during my VBAC which was so successful-it couldn't have gone better. She was supportive of both me, my husband and my baby. Gina made me look good, feel dignified during labor and even made the room smell nice! She also took photos during labor-something I will cherish forever, they turned out beautifully. I had three postpartum visits, she helped answer questions about breastfeeding, helped me make a plan for breastfeeding/taking care of my newborn while we moved into our new house and discussed how to transition to taking care of two kids after my husband goes back to work. I plan to call Gina to be my doula if we decide to have a third child.

Gina was awesome! when my water broke 8 weeks early she met us at the hospital. She even did a food run for my husband since we hadn't eaten in 6+ hours and we had no idea if I would be in labor tonight or on bed rest. Our little guy decided to keep coming. She was there, helping make a birth plan since we didn't have ours done yet. She helped keep me relaxed and reaffirmed I could do this. After a whirlwind 6 hour labor, Gina was even able to take pictures of our son's birth. Due to him being so early, we weren't able to have any prenatal visits. Gina instead meet us three times postmatal including coming to the NICU twice so we didn't have to leave our son. My husband and I truly believe if it wasn't for Gina, I  wouldn't have had a natural birth.

Gina was a God-send!  I am not entirely sure how my husband and I would have made it through a 24 hour labor with 3 hours of pushing without her.  We were first-timers at this whole birth thing and there is so much more that goes into it than I had ever imagined pre-delivery.  I knew it was going to be hard, but it was so much more than that.  Having her there helping my husband and I to work through contractions and help us make decisions during a very stressful time was so very helpful.  I would highly recommend Gina to anyone!  She was an amazing asset to our birth team.  :)

My husband and I used Gina as our doula for the birth of my daughter. I am a first time Mom and really wanted to make sure we were as prepared as we possibly could be so we started looking into hiring a doula. Finding Gina was one of the best decisions I made for my Husband and I and our journey to the birth we wanted. She was so kind and supportive with every visit we had and she really helped us understand all of our options we Had for our birth and how we could really achieve what we wanted. We were taking hypnobabies as our birthing classes and Gina, being a hypnobabies doula, was extremely important in helping me Achieve the hypnosis in birth I was preparing For. She was very attentive to me throughout my entire pregnancy as well. I can’t imagine Having a different doula for my birth. Gina helped me so much with her positive words and her encouragement, and she also made sure my wonderful husband was taken care of and that we both had everything we needed. She was a huge reason I was able to get through the natural waterbirth that I had wanted so badly. I can’t recommend her enough. She was always available if I had questions or problems. It was so comforting to always have someone There to help us answer the many questions we had about pregnancy and the upcoming birth. We also took advantage of her photography package and were not disappointed at all. Gina gave us beautiful maternity, birth, and newborn photos we will cherish forever. She made me feel so comfortable (even being super pregnant and uncomfortable with my body at the time) during the photo shoot and it really showed in the photos. If you are looking for someone to make your birth anazing and special and someone who will really come through for you, you won’t find anyone better then Gina. She is amazing!

I didn't even know I should have had a Doula until I was well in my 3rd trimester.  We exhaustingly met with Doulas to try and find the right mix of supportive and direct.  Gina was that perfect mix for us.  She was knowledgable, supportive, and empathetic but she showed me a part of herself that I knew could continue to really aid me when things started to get intense.  She helped me through my tranition without pain meds even though I had convinced myself that I needed them.

She also supported and involved my husband as much as possible which was incredible important to me personally. She was quick to get back to us any time we text or called.  She was genuine and sincere in her caring for us and our birth journey; being open-minded and never questioning any of our decisions made for labor or for our baby.  Looking back I cannot imagine having done this without her.  We were very lucky to have found Gina.

Gina is an Angel. I was pregnant with my first child and taking a Hypnobabies class in preperation for a home water birth. First off, Gina got her hypnobabies certification during my pregnancy! Before I went into labor Gina went above and beyond for me. She even hosted my Mother's Blessing and met my husband and I at our home to discuss our birth plans and offer any support. She was with me from the moment I went into labor. I vividly remember her sitting next to me that evenng counting my contractions while I slept on the couch. She worked with the rest of my birthing team which consisted of 2 midwives, a student midwife, my mother and my husband. She was amazing at helping me focus on my hypnobabies and after over 24hrs of laboring at home when I decided I needed to get the epidural so I could sleep she was so great at really making sure that's what I truly wanted. She asked all the right questions and made sure I was safe and was going to have a posiive birthing experince no matter what. She was there with me at the hospital and made sure my birth plans were understood by the nurses and other staff. On top of all this she even took the most beautiful pictures of my son's birth and they are one of my most cherished possessions. I can never thank Gina enough for all that she has done. Her home visits were such a blessing. She cleaned, showed us how to properlly wash our cloth diapers and offered great breastfeeding tips and overall is a great source of support. She even provided us with a couple meals. I plan on having Gina at all my future births. She is a real gem and I can' say enough wonderful things about her!

While it was my first time being pregnant, Gina really took the task of calming my nerves. While I was in labor, she pulled out all the stops and was very professional but also fun at the same time. It's a very stressful job becoming a mother for the first time but she helped immensely. If I ever decide to have more children, I am contacting Gina right away.
