Taylor was very convincing during our consultation and first appointment (we discussed insurance and changing midwives). We made our first payment of $275 and then she got extremely flaky. She told my husband and I that she emailed our contract, multiple times, but we never received it. She would never settle on a date for our birthing class (I was already 6 or 7 months along). We were practically begging to set another appointment with her so we could pay her and continue in our work together. We just felt more and more uneasy so we decided to cut our losses and not use her. She said our first payment was non refundable. She claimed to have a medical background as a nurse and to be a certified lactation consultant and certified placenta encapsulator. After research, we found out that is not true. I’ve heard horrible experiences from people who actually went through labor with her. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH!!

In my last trimester, after much research, I met with Taylor about twin placenta encapsulation. I felt very comfortable with Taylor. Unexpectedly, I had to be induced at 34 weeks. That weekend Taylor was providing doula services for a client but she still checked in on me as I was in labor for the entire weekend. Although I had a doula and Taylor was on contracted for placenta encapsulation, she still offered advice on conservative methods of induction and suggested a shower and heat pack to help with contractions as I was going for unmedicated vaginal birth. After the birth, Taylor came to hospital and whipped me up a bedside placenta smoothie, which was yummy. The placenta prints and cord keepsakes turned out great!!! Taylor checked in with me to see how I was enjoying the capsules. I mentioned that I was having some difficulty with milk production and Taylor suggested fenugreek.

Taylor was amazing!!! i was impressed with the fact that she wasn't my doula but still offered advice and suggestions as she would her own clients.

Having Taylor as my doula was the best thing I've ever done. Without her, my husband I would have been absolutely lost throughout the entire labor and delivery process. She was so knowledgeable and comforting, it was amazing. I didn't even realize how quickly my labor had gone until it was over and our beautiful baby girl was here! Taylor is fabulous, professional and kind. She knows what she's doing and will walk you through everything.

Taylor and I connected late into my pregnancy, long after I had given up hope of being able to find a doula in my price range. I wanted an unmedicated birth and was planning on just my husband in the room. She was running a mothers day sale for first time mothers which allowed me to squeeze out the money I needed in order to hire her. We met in person once before my birth, but every few days she would check in on me, ask me how I was doing, and was available almost immediately any time I messaged her with a question.

When I went into labor, I was one day "overdue" and she kept tabs on me through the morning, giving me advice on how to either get things to peter out or speed up, depending on whether my body was just getting ready or if it was go time. She was with us within an hour of us arriving at the hospital and had a lot of tricks to help me cope with the contractions. I ended up on a birthing ball for 2 hours while she applied pressure to my lower back to help with my back labor. I feel so bad for her hands (they had to be cramping as hard as I needed her to push!), but she only skipped two contractions and that was so my body wouldn't overcompensate. When I hit transition she reminded me that I COULD do this, I already was! When it was time to push, she helped me avoid a panic attack (ptsd due to childhood abuse). After my daughter was born she helped me get her latched to breastfeed as soon as I started trying to figure it out. When I had questions after her birth, and even to this day almost a year later if I have questions about anything birth/baby she was and is there within the same day if not within minutes. The pictures she took of my labor and delivery were tasteful (before the hot flashes hit me) and she even caught our first latch on camera.

I only have one caution for hiring her: she makes me want another baby just so I can hire her again!!! She is truly wonderful, and we are so blessed that she has come into our lives.
