My experience with Chai was nothing short of amazing! She is so kind hearted and made my birthing experience 1,000 times easier. Will definitely be using her in future births. Highly, HIGHLY recommend!
I can't even describe how amazing she is! She is knowledgeable and super sweet!!!! My birth would have been so much more difficult if it wasn't for Chai. My husband really appreciated the tips during labor too (he had no idea what to do). HAHA !
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING DOULA!!
When I met with Chai, she was prompt and professional and we had time to talk about my previous birth experiences and discuss how I wanted this experience to go. When I went into labor, Chai was there for full support, and made it ahead of the midwife as the labour came on faster than we all anticipated. She supported me though the labour with valuable skills, and showed my husband what to do to help support me During contractions. She was a great addition to the birth team and I was grateful for the support. I has a home birth, with a 4 hour labour.
Chai is absolutely amazing as a doula. Within her services to me that she provided, she was an ear to listen to when I was facing fears during my high risk pregnancy. During the labor process, she was comforting, assertive, and a super calm presence to have. She helped me deal with contractions and multiple failures at getting an IV in. When I was discouraged she was supportive of what I could do. She put my needs first and knew that when I needed to push that it was time, and to call my husband into the room. She knew before I did that I needed him immediately, and put him in front of me when I needed it most. I can not recommend Chai highly enough. She will be one of the best choices you make for your entire pregnancy.
Before I met Chai I didnt know what a doula was exactly. Chai was more than a birthing coach/assistant, or someone who was there to help. She took the time to find out the type of birthing experience i wanted, not just by listening. She saw how i lived, talked about goals, in all aspects of life. Chai was very relaxed through out our get togethers and doctors visits, she had an overvall calming attitude. I wanted a water birth because I had a terrible experience with the birth of my first child. I had an epideral and felt like I didn't know what my body needed during labor. I was unable to bond for the first few hours because of the side effects. I knew it was something i didn't want again. On my due date i went to my midwife, she wanted to schedule an induction (which i was against) and chai encouraged me to stick with what i wanted and listen to my body. I felt great, and like my body wasnt quite ready. I didn't schedule the induction which was hard being that the midwife recommended i did. I went into labor late night day 5 past my due date. Day 6 morning doctors appointment and a couple cm dialated. Being i live on an island i didnt feel comfortable returning via ferry. So I called chai, she met me in tacoma early in the afternoon she walked with us and helped through contractions all through town. She gave me suggestions on sitting and standing positions, rubbed my back, kept me hydrated. We even got in a car accident! ugh!!!! I finally decided I was ready to go in around 10 pm. We get to the hospital, i get in the tub, shes keeping people out of the room like i wanted. With a simple gesture or just eye contact she was calming and reassuring. She told my partner exactly how he could help me, all with out me having to say a word. 2 hrs after arriving at the hospital, our daughter was born. It brought my partner and I closer and gave me the best birthing experience I could have imagined. She even took pictures! She's a great person and an amazing doula.
I had a water birth at a birthing center in Seattle. As soon as I called Chai she was on her way over. She was there even before the second midwife had come! When she got to my birth she was attentive, caring and very supportive. She kept people out of the room that she knew I didn't want in and was my voice when I was unable to speak through my contractions. She kept music going that I wanted on and was a complete behind the scenes goddess. She knew just where to rub my back when it got sore and was there to wipe my hair out of my face when I was pushing my son into this world. I want to say I couldn't have done it without her but science trumps that. I will say that it was a much more amazing experience having her there and I couldn't have asked for a more compassionate, smart and loveable doula to share in one of the most important days of my life. <3
Chai made our amazing experience even better than we could of expected. She is easy to work with and was very attentive to our needs, from back rubs to snack foods and more. We highly recommend anyone expecting a child to work with Chai, a great person for your personal experience. We had a home birth with a 20 hour labor that went as smoothly as possible rotating comforting roles maintaining a calm and peaceful environment until the birth. When Charlotte (baby) didn't want to make things easy having a double shoulder displacia and initially not breathing, knowing we had the right people by our side we made the right decision to work with Chai.
