Amber is an incredible doula who I would recommend to anyone. She helped us to create a natural birth plan while explaining everything to my husband who was very hesitant to hire a doula. She responded quickly to all of my questions and arrived promptly when I went into labor at 11pm. She was extremely supportive throughout my entire labor without any breaks (I gave birth at 8am the following day) and helped to provide natural relief while I labored in the bath, on the ball, and in a variety of positions. She was extremely knowledgeable and helped to include my husband in the process. Amber was very soothing and calming and motivated me to follow through on my natural birth plan. There is no way we could have done it without her, she was amazing.

When I was planning the birth of my second child I did not want a doula. Labor and delivery are such personal things, and I did not want a stranger with me. As the date grew closer I realized I needed someone. To be honest the idea of a doula was more for my husband than me. My close friend Amber was my one and only choice. I was still not sure in what ways she would be able to help me. I did not what to be touched, massaged, breathed on, or talked to during labor. When the night came to deliver Amber was there with us long before she needed to be. As the labor intensified and progressed quickly she was calm and helpful. It was a huge comfort for my husband, he felt he could leave to use the bathroom or get some fresh air. As I was going through transition she put a cool cloth on my head between contractions. I would have never asked for that or thought I would have found it relaxing. It was exactly what I needed. The birth was quick and intense. In fact she was with us even when our midwife missed the delivery. Amber drove to the hospital during a storm to for the birth and to check on me afterwards. I was experiencing postpartum depression symptoms in the days following the birth. She kept calling and checking on me. Finally It was so bad she suggested a doctor who could give me a natural medication. She must have known I might not call the doctor so she called her immediately and made an appointment for me. To this day I am so very grateful. Amber was there for me before, during, and after my birth. She offered suggestions and at all times taking no offense when we turned some down. I felt like she was there for us, with no expectations. If it weren't for the fact that we no longer live near each other I would have used her for my next two births.

I am so honored to share my experience of having Amber as my kind Doula.  It feels like yesterday when I had my sweet baby, Ava Ruth.  Amber first assisted me with her advice over the phone when I first called to let her know that I was in labor. Her steady voice and calm demeanor kept me comforted and assured me that my labor was progressing smoothly and kept me steady. When I was at the hospital she never left my side. Amber had encouraging words, and a hands on approach to help my labor move along. She helped me with my positions to get the baby to move and provided the birthing supplies I needed. I especially enjoyEd the cool rag I needed when I felt transition coming.  I strongly reccomend Amber's Doula services to anyone who is looking for a kind, comforting, strong, encouraging woman to assist them in the most important time of their life. Thank you Amber!
