I have nothing but wonderful things to say about our experience together bringing my Vbac baby into the world! Alice made me feel at ease and comforted from the first time we met. She communicated very well during my pregnancy and always answered calls/texts promptly. She is also extremely well versed in essential oils, so if that’s something you’re looking to include in your birthing experience she’s your girl! Once my Labor began she was there every step of the way and lost just as much sleep as me. She helped me through every contraction and intuitively knew what I needed to get me through. I know in my heart my Vbac experience would not have been the same without her, she was my rock. She also surprised me with amazing pictures she took of my labor and birth, absolutely priceless!!!! I will forever be grateful for the part she played bringing my baby earth side, what a wonderful gift she was. Some people are just born to be part of bringing life into the world and Alice is definitely one of those gifted people.
I would recommend Alice to any mom. Couldn’t do it as we wanted, non medicated , without her help.
Being a first time mom, I was nervous about anything. In the beginning I was not sure about bringing in another stranger, the doula, into the labor process. After heading a lot of good things about her, and being reccommended from two separate sources, both my child birth class teacher and my ob, I decided Alice is the one we’ll go with. And we are so happy with her!
She has such a calm personality, as soon as I hear her soft but firm voice, I feel better during my contractions. I called her as soon as my water broke middle of the night, we both knew it will be a difficult/long labor. I went to the hospital to get checked in per my doctor, and Alice kept communicating with me, and telling me what to do, as I was dilating or having contractions by the time I get to the hospital. And after hours of walking and moving and sqauting, I went from 1cm to 5cm in 5hrs. I called her once active labor happened, and she showed up immediately. Guiding me through different birthing positions, coaching me diring the contractions, and assuring as the labor went along. I couldn’t remember how many times that I had the thoghts of just giving in, but her calming voice and assurance helped me pass that, and eventially had our lovely baby girl non medicated within 13 hrs from the time my water broke.
She also helped me after the labor with my questions, and visited us two weeks post labor. I will definitely hire her again for our second one!
I am so thankful for the Alice and the guidance and support she provided during my birthing experience! We had an instant connection when we met - she was very easy to talk to and everything a new mamma could want in a doula - super friendly, accomodating, patient, and understanding. I don't think my labor and delivery would have gone as smoothly as it did without Alice's guidance and coaching. It is so easy to get caught up in the pain and process, but Alice was there throughout to bring me back to my breathing and calming techniques that I needed to make it through. Having her by my side was invaluable. I highly recommend her!
I have nothing but good things to say about Alice!! She was a blessing to have in the delivery room with me and my husband. She made me feel relaxed and as comfortable as she could throughout my labor. She was caring and understanding and a joy to have during such a special time in my life. She was also a helper to my husband so that he didn't have 100% of the responsibility the whole time. We also loved that she was a nurse and had so much medical knowledge as well. That was just an added bonus.
This was my first time to use a doula and it was everything I hoped for and more thanks to Alice. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone!! Her sweet spirit and kind smile make her a dream to work with!
I absolutely loved working with Alice! Whike I didn't meet her till the end of my pregnancy (34 weeks), there was never a time where I felt worried we didn't have enough time to connect. As soon as Alice and I met for the first time, I immediately knew she would be the right doula for me. I told Alice from the beginning that I had anxiety and needed someone very calm and collected to help me through my birth and that's exactly how she was. During my labor, she was so kind, so calm. She knew lots of pain relief methods and things to do to help me keep my labor progressing. She was by my side without fail. She was so helpful and so knowledgeable. During delivery, I had my doubts, my anxiety kicked in, and Alice was there to help calm me down. She is truly an angel and I would absolutely use her again for any more births I have!!
Alice is a rock. Her support and kindness were valuable beyond measure in our pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience and I couldn't recommend working with her more highly.
I had only heard about doulas when I got pregnant. I knew that I really wanted a natural childbirth - vaginal delivery with as little intervention or medication as possible - and I read that having the support of a doula significantly increases the likelihood of that outcome. We were new to town, didn't know any other moms to ask, and my Ob/Gyn recommended North Dallas Doula Associates (NDDA). They put us in touch with Alice. After we met with her we really liked all of her years of experience as a nurse working with babies and moms. We liked that she relies on her experience in healthcare as a basis for her thinking about health for moms and babies, and we loved her tender but commonsense approach. My husband also really felt supported, like he would have support and an informed, non-judgmental teammate to help him, just in case anything unexpected were to happen.
Our daughter was born at 41 weeks and 5 days and had to be induced, which was not what I had hoped for. We were still able to have a delivery free of pain medication because Alice was so supportive and helped me to stay positive and focused. She helped my husband and I do all of the techniques that we had practiced to bring our baby into the world. She is a true gift to our family.
Alice is a fantastic doula and I would highly recommend her. I was undecided about getting a doula at all since I was having a low-risk hospital birth and wasn't sure whether I "needed" a doula, so I ended up not looking for one until the last minute (~37 weeks). I went with Alice as I felt very comfortable with her soothing personality during our consult and she was also a labor & delivery nurse. Alice worked with my short timeline before the due date to understand my birth plan and address my questions/fears ASAP in case I delivered before the due date, with lots of advice about what to expect.
Alice was great about communicating with me during early labor once my contractions started (I started texting her around 5-6am) and we texted throughout the day until it was time to go to the hospital, where she met me promptly and provided further coaching on breathing, staying relaxed, pushing, breastfeeding, etc. She also kept in touch after the birth with advice and resources about newborns.
I had previously thought doulas were only really needed for natural/home births (which was why I didn't look for a doula until very late in my pregnancy) but even with my hospital delivery and an epidural, I was very happy for Alice's presence, and my husband was probably even happier. This was our first child, and after the birth, he admitted that he couldn't remember most of what he had read / learned in birth class when we were at the hospital, and that without Alice he wouldn't have known what to say or how to help me keep calm. Both of us are very grateful that we had Alice to help us through the process!
Wow, what a great experience! Having Alice as our doula was one of the best decision we made during pregnancy. She was extremely helpful during the entire process, her knowledge as a labor and delivery nurse plus a mother of five came in hand. Alice was great at communicating with us in the months before labor and amazing during labor. She made sure we understood everything the nurses and doctors were telling us from start to finish. I am truly grateful to have had her as our doula and to share the joy our baby brought to us.
