I have been so blessed to have had Jaleh as my doula for my past 3 births. With my first pregnancy I had my mom with me as my "doula" support but for our second child she was going to be babysitting our son.So I went looking for a doula. It is a daunting process trying to find a "stranger" to be there with you in labor. You really need to feel comfortable and confident with that person. With Jaleh, I felt at ease from the beginning. She has a very calm motherly presence, listens well and is generous with her time. She responded to all my questions during our interview and via phone and email in the months leading up to birth. During labor she helped me via text while I was at home and was my biggest advocate at the hospital, so attentive calming and encouraging. Even after labor helping with photos and breastfeeding advice. She came to visit us at home within the first week and helped me process the birth and everything that followed. She is extremely knowledgeable and helpful even in those not so ideal pregnancies. My last baby was found to be breech at 36 weeks and I was devastated. Jaleh calmed me down, gave me copious resources and tips to help turn the baby, said she would be by my side if I decided to try for a breech delivery. I followed her advice, went to many chiropractic sessions, did all the exercises at home. I ended up having a version at 39 weeks. Jaleh offered to be there with me. Thankfully the baby turned easily head down and I attribute the success to all the outside work I had done at the suggestion of Jaleh. I am so grateful for Jaleh and all she has done for me as a doula. My sister in law has also used Jaleh and raves about her experience as well. I recommend doulas to all my friends and Jaleh especially to anyone in the area. She is very experienced, knowledgeable and most of all genuinely cares for all her clients, what more could you want.

Like many births, mine did not go exactly as I expected. I was so thankful to have Jaleh by my side. She helped us talk over the tough decisions, and was either with us or in contact with us through a few days of waiting for labor to start. We were both so grateful to have someone who created space for us to talk things over, and she was amazing during my labor. My husband was more than willing to help where he could, but there is just no substitute for an experienced doula. My son is a happy and healthy two year old, and though there are things I would have done differently with the benefit of hindsight, I am now able to reflect with satisfaction on the whole experience, and that is entirely because of Jaleh.

After researching our options and interviewing three doulas, my husband and I chose to work with Jaleh because of her years of experience, her intelligence, and how comfortable we both felt with her. I was planning a VBAC, and was committed to doing everything I could to make it happen. I truly believe having Jaleh as my doula was the best thing I could have done! We both felt supported and safe with her, and from the moment I knew I was in labor, I never doubted the VBAC would happen.

We met with Jaleh several times before the birth. We were able to share our hopes and questions about our birth plan, and she shared stretches and resources to help us prepare. She was also available by email and phone, and was always honest and supportive in our interactions.

Jaleh was at once calm and reassuring in the delivery room, bringing a grounded energy to the space. Throughout my labor I could feel that she was truly supporting me and doing everything she could to make my experience positive, whether it meant pulling my hair back, showing my husband specific physical support I needed, or helping me with a change of position so the nurse would stop complaining!

I have recommended Jaleh to many friends, and often share the wisdom and tips she gave me when I am leading La Leche League meetings. My husband and I continue to feel such a fondness for Jaleh and are grateful we could share the incredible experience of an unmedicated VBAC with such a giving woman!
