Attends hospital births? All Hospitals
I support families wherever they choose to birth. I believe that a well informed family before going into labor has a more positive birth outcome as opposed to family who is uninformed. I bring doughnuts for the nurses #teamwork
Attends birth center births? All Birth Centers
Birth Centers are less clinical than hospital births and less clean up up post partum as a home birth . I recommend doing a birth tour of the closest hospital to you and the emergency hospital near BC. In the event of a change you will already been acquainted to the practices and policies of these hospitals.
Attends home births? Any Home Birth
Home births can be so beautiful . Setting matters. Lets talk more about nesting and preparing the space where you will be birthing. Also if you are thinking of documentation . Birth Photography is available as well.

I had a wonderful experience with Kris as my doula. To begin with, she was professional while being nurturing and supportive, which is not easy to manage. We interviewed several doulas, and while they all had many merits, Kris is the only one who brought a sense of organization and direction to the process while also inspiring confidence and helping me feel emotionally embraced. She organized our meetings, was punctual to the minute and was responsive throughout to questions and concerns. It may seem strange to mention professionalism for such a personal experience as labor and birth, but when it's something as important as the delivery of your child, I believe knowing you have found someone completely reliable is paramount.

Harder to put into words is the sense of warming calmness that I experienced when I met Kris. A doula is there to provide the birthing partner with support, but also to help her feel calm and confident. Kris did that for me. She has two children of her own and was able to speak from personal experience about birth and bringing baby home. She asked me what I thought I needed, and she tailored her support to my specific needs. Kris was there when our little boy finally made it into the world, and the loving approach she showed towards him as well as my husband and me made the whole experience even better.

My husband would want to add that Kris was a great support for him when he was providing me with comforting measures. They worked together to support and comfort me as a I labored (on pitocin, without an epidural) through some very challenging hours. Kris never made us feel only supported, never judged, on the choices we made throughout the process of preparing for labor and then labor and birth.

I would highly recommend Kris as a doula. Of course, each mother needs different things, but if you are looking for professionalism, loving support and calm confidence, Kris is the way to go.

I had my daughter not too long ago on May 12th. I had planned a home birth although I ultimately birthed the baby at a nearby hospital. Kris was WONDERFUL the whole time. Pre-natal visits were very thorough, always conveniently scheduled and she never failed to follow up with important topics that may have come up during these visits. I went into labor on a Monday and had my baby on a Thursday. Kris was by my side the entire time save for a few hours during early labor when I told her it was perfectly fine for her to go home, check in with her toddler, and hopefully get some rest. She was back at my home the very next morning offering amazing emotional and moral support in the form of verbally reminding me of my strength and my reasons for wanting to birth in the way I had planned. She's so patient and extremely attentive and observant. Because I labored at home for 4 days, Kris was also working alongside my mom, husband, sister, 8-year old son, and my midwife. That's a lot to juggle at once, but I always felt like I had her full attention. She held my hand through contractions, she danced with me, walked outside with me, suggested helpful positions for me to change in to.

I'll say it again-- my labor was long.  It means so much that Kris was there throughout the entire experience offering continuous support and sometimes that came in the form of her encouraging my husband, mom or sister to be closer to my side while she still held space for me but in a different position.  In this way she helped to maintain a balance in what was a very sacred space.

On the more administrative side of this work, Kris is just as wonderful.  Email follow-up regarding appointments or a question that I had asked during a pre-natal or postpartum visit were very prompt and clear.  This is Kris's forte.  She knows what she's doing and I'm truly fortunate to have worked with her.

Kris was phenomena! There is absolutely no way I could have labored for as long as I did without her. She stayed with me through each contraction with calm and soothing instructions. Her presence alone made me feel like I was in good hands. I hope to have Kris as my doula if ever I am graced to bring another angel to earth.
