Having Krystal Conrad as our Doula, was incredible to say the least! With her added support and knowledge to get me through some of the challanging parts of labor, I was able to stay calm and as relaxed as I possibly could. I knew having her would be great, but I had no idea the extent of how great!  Looking back at that night, she was always in tune to what I needed during each situation or stage of labor. Her personality and presence was calming, and so personable.  At one point, I needed to do some different things to allow the baby to repostion.   There were some intense and uncomfortable positions that my midwife asked me to do.  Krystal encouraged me the entire time! She would remind me that all my efforts would allow the baby to reposition and that I would meet my baby very soon. Her words made me feel confident that it would work and she made me believe that I was strong and could do it!

There were several times during labor that she had a thought or an idea that would possibly help me to have less pressure or pain during a contraction. It worked! I had minimal back labor when she would give me tips or apply pressure to my lower back. I don't know what I would have done with out her support! She was absolutely amazing and knowledgeable!  I was so incredibly blessed to have her there to be a huge part of our birth story! I honelstly felt lucky to have had her. I tell my husband often, that having Krystal there felt like I got the best of the best!

Krystal is an amazing doula. She was supportive the whole pregnancy and helped me work through any issues I had! She is a wonderful Christian woman and I knew she was praying for baby and I! She even came over and prayed over baby and I the night before I went into labor.

During delivery she was great! She encouraged me the whole time. Her voice was always calm and soothing. I always felt like she was advocating for me and helping me feel comfortable and in control. I am blessed to have had her a part of my delivery!

Krystal is AMAZING!! All four of my children were born with her by my side, and I would have it no other way!
My Birth Stories in a nutshell:
1. A relatively strenuous labor, barely any break in contractions. I really wanted to do my birth all natural, and I did! I can tell you though, without Krystal’s knowledge of the different pain meds and her encouragement; I most definitely would have defaulted to medication.
2. My second labor was much easier; until they broke my water, and I was dilated to an 8 for over 4 hours! Krystal kept encouraging me to move, but I just didn’t have it in me. So, I reverted to getting an epidural, only to have my daughter out in 3 min!  (12 minutes before the epidural was supposed to kick in.) Lesson learned: Krystal does know what she’s talking about! She has such a keen understanding about birth and labor!
3. My third labor was AMAZING! Up until they broke my water, I was dilating and everything was pretty smooth. I took Krystal’s advice from Baby #2, and when it got hard, I kept moving…. And #3 was out quickly!
4. My 4th labor was a great until I got to the Hospital, and they felt one of my baby’s feet instead of her head. Krystal was right there to help me make the tough decision which did result in a C-section.  Having her knowledge and perspective helped my husband and I make a very difficult decision.

I was also able to be a part of one of my good friends’ birth. In that process, I kept asking myself “what would Krystal do right now?” It was an amazing experience as well, and I am so grateful that I could give back some of what I had been able to experience having such a wonderful Doula with me!

Although, my husband and my mom were also with me during my births; we all agree that her wisdom, guidance, and care were a priceless component of our Baby Stories!  She gets 10 stars from my family!!!!

Krystal is amazing when it comes to being a Doula! As a husband and a dad I can certainly say that she makes you feel very comfortable while she is there, and is a part of the birth experience as much or as little as you would like. She has been present at the birth of all 4 of my wife (Melissa) and I’s children. She offers so much not only to the mom giving birth, but to the husband as well.

Krystal was great at giving encouragement to my wife while in labor. On top of that when my wife would be experiencing extreme pain from the contractions and would possibly want to go the route of having medications, Krystal made sure to let my wife know her options on meds. She would not give us her opinion, but merely let us know what the options were and then allow my wife to make her own decisions on having medications. If you are looking for someone to be in your corner during childbirth there is no one I would rather have it be than Krystal Conrad. Her kind, loving, and encouraging personality really helped in the birthing room.
