Chelsea is AMAZING. I hired her for my first birth. I wasn't sure whether or not hiring a doula was going to be worth the money...but I desperately wanted to avoid having a C-section and wanted some extra support with me in case my mom wasn't able to make it to my birth (she lives in another country). I thought that if I had my mom around, I wouldnt need a doula, especially since my husband is extremely supportive as well. Well, I was wrong. I'm so thankful I hired Chelsea. She was so encouraging and helpful, and she has a very calming and kind energy. It was SO comforting to have her there, and she stayed by my side the whole time.
Chelsea also has very good social awareness--she knows how to fit herself in with the other people supporting you. Chelsea talking me though the birth really helped me along the way, and for my next birth I will definitely be hiring a doula again!!
My husband and I highly recommend hiring Chelsea. I was really late in my pregnancy before I started looking at doulas. The process was very overwhelming to me, since it seems some doulas disapproved of hospital or medicated births. Chelsea put me at ease from the first meeting and was supportive throughout the whole process. Even before going in to labor, she would call and text to check in and see how I was feeling and how the doctor appointments went. When I called her panicked because I needed to be induced, she calmed my fears and came immediately to sit by my side. She was there 19 hours of labor, letting my husband get breaks, and providing suggestions for pain management. She was non-judgmental, never pushy, offered affirmations that my decisions were the correct ones, and advocated for me with the nursing staff (again, in a non-pushy way, all the nurses praised her after she left). Importantly, she gave wonderful pep talks to get me through the few times that I lost moral. Also, we just liked hanging out with her. It was a long, tiring day, with a lot of downtime so my husband and I enjoyed having her around to talk to.
My recent successful VBAC birth of my second birth was made possible with Chelsea as our doula and it was one of the best decisions my husband and I have made. From our initial contact while looking for a doula to help assist with a VBAC, Chelsea was incredibly responsive and I immediately knew she was the doula I was looking for. She is supportive of your birthing plan and always took time to check in throughout the pregnancy. She was quick to answer my questions via text, call, or email and I appreciated that she was reliable, communicative, and responsible because you want someone who'll be readily available as soon as you go into labor. My husband also was very appreciative of Chelsea's presence at birth and gave him much comfort to have her there to support him as well. She arrived as soon as she could on the morning of the delivery, despite my fast progression of labor, and throughout the hard labor, she was incredibly patient, loving, and cheering me on. I wasn't sure myself that a VBAC would be possible after a difficult labor and delivery with my first but I was able to deliver a healthy baby naturally and I have Chelsea to thank for making that happen. You'd be lucky to have her as your most wonderful doula! Happy to answer any questions.
Wow, where do I even begin. My wife and i interviewed several doulas before meeting Chelsea. The moment we sat down with her we knew it was a no brainer that we were going to hire her. Our pre natal visit felt like a couple of friends just chatting with each other. It was casual, laid back and enjoyable. Chelsea truly came across as a friend. During the birth she was a superstar. She arrived at our home at 6:30 in the morning and did not leave until 6:30 in the evening after the baby was born. She would have stayed even longer but she had to run out to another birth.
Chelsea comforted my wife through a very long natural drug free home birth but equally as important is the fact that she coached me through the birth as well so that I was better able to assist my wife as well. Chelsea made me look like a star for my wife and I will forever be grateful to her for that.
I can not recomend Chelsea enough. Her price was VERY reasonable for what you get. She was incredible and truly becomes your friend when you become her client, she even answered a text I sent her at 2:30 in the morning. You can not go wrong with this woman. She is an amazing doula and an incredible person.
Chelsea was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. For our pre-birth visit she provided some helpful advice and support as we prepared for our baby's delivery.
Our daughter's birth went too quickly for Chelsea to make it to the hospital before she was born. But, she was consistently available to us and checked in regularly to see how we were doing as we geared-up. We were grateful to have Chelsea's help and experience available to us while we prepared and planned for the baby, and we have no doubt that she would have been a source of added guidance, warmth and stability in the delivery room.
She visited us for a post-birth check-in and offered some more help and advice while we were acclimating to newborn life. Her experience as a Doula and mother makes it easy to recommend her to anyone looking for those services.
This review is long overdue! Where do I begin? Well first and foremost Chelsea is amazing. I've never met someone so quick to put others wants and needs before her own. I hired Chelsea about a month before my due date. This being my first birth I really wanted that support and help with giving a natural birth. From the very first phone conversation Chelsea and I had, I was immediately sold. She was very professional and very direct with her intentions on being my doula.
We met up and she went over the different stages of birth, encouraged my husband and I to create a birth plan. Chelsea was very open to me contacting her and she would always respond to any and every question I've had. I was never treated like a number. She valued what my husband and I wanted and was the support we were looking for.
The day I gave birth was an urgent matter. To a point where I could not make it to the hospital in time. Even in such circumstances, Chelsea was there for us trough the entire labor process. She never waived her support postpartum either. She remained there for us visiting and checking on how we were doing. No review can really state how amazing this woman is. I'm very grateful that we crossed paths. She will always be my number 1 recommendation for other expecting mothers in the area.
Thank you so much Chelsea for caring for my family and I. I couldn't imagine the whole labor and birth experience without you. May God continue to bless you and your family.
My experience with Chelsea was something I will forever be grateful for! My first birth went well but my recovery wasn't what I had expected. I had an epidural (which was fine) but after my son was born, my leg stayed numb. I couldn't walk for the first week after my son was born and then I was on crutches for the next month. I didn't necessarily want the epidural the first time around but my son turned in the middle of labor and I needed rest. The numbness may or may not have been due to the epidural, but I made it my goal to never have one again. With my second birth, I asked Chelsea to be my doula and expressed to her my eagerness to not have an epidural. She not only helped me to have the birth I wished for, but she was encouraging before and after the labor/birth. She was very supportive of all my wishes and helped me to stick to my birth plan when we were in the hospital.
Chelsea was very informative in the sense of genuinely trying to help us. When asked for advice, Chelsea gave us her opinion and other options and never told us what we had to do or what was "medically" correct. Chelsea was always available to call us or text us back when we had questions and was always willing to answer. I really respected her opinions and advice she had to give us.
I definitely want more children (maybe not anytime soon ;-)) and would absolutely ask Chelsea for her support again! I am so grateful that Chelsea was able to attend my birth and help me to have the birth I desired! Thank you thank you thank you!!
I seriously don't know what I would have done without Chelsea! This was my first pregnancy and I wanted to do everything naturally, so I hired Chelsea as my doula. Her knowledge of pregnancy and delivery was very comforting. She was there for us every step of the way. She sat down with my boyfriend and I to give us the oportunity to ask any questions we had while she also explained the process of labor and what we could expect. She was always available if we ever had any queistions or if I just needed some comfort and reassurance. The morning I went into labor (2am), she answered the phone right away. She was very prompt and actually beat us to the hospital! She was there with everything I could possibly need to help me through my labor. Chelsea was such an amazing supporter throughout the entire delivery, not only for myself, but for my boyfriend who was scared to death. She provided continuous reassurance for both of us. I honestly don't think I could have done it without her support and constant encouragement. I was successful in my natural, unmedicated delivery and I couldn't thank Chelsea enough for being a part of my journey.
Chelsea is amazing, and we are so glad she was supporting us during my pregnancy and the birth of our son.
When we first met Chelsea, we were immediately impressed by her demeanor. She is so warm and exudes a calm confidence, perfect for remaining relaxed and level-headed in stressful situations. She is easy to talk to and a great listener. It was clear to us from the beginning that she didn't have any agenda. She simply wanted to do her best to help us have birth experience we wanted, whatever that might be.
Chelsea is also passionate and knowledgeable about pregnancy and childbirth. When unexpected issues arose during my pregnancy, she was a great resource. She often raised points we hadn't thought of - either for us to think through ourselves or to discuss with our provider. In all our communications, Chelsea was extremely responsive, quick to answer emails or texts and available to talk.
Chelsea was a wonderful support during labor as well. She had incredible energy and stamina (long after my husband and I were exhausted) and was so positive and encouraging throughout. When we had decisions to make regarding medical care, it was very helpful to discuss our options with her. She was often familiar with the different courses of action and gave great advice.
During contractions, Chelsea also had the wisdom and good judgment to know when my husband and I were managing fine on our own and when to step in to offer ideas, encouragement, or assistance. On multiple occasions, she took over what my husband was doing (massage, help with breathing, etc.), allowing him to get much needed rest. The short naps he was able to take because Chelsea was there (and we trusted her to do what I needed) gave him the energy to support me through the rest of labor. After our son was born, Chelsea stayed with us for a while and helped me get my son to latch.
We are so thankful for all Chelsea did for us and strongly recommend her to anyone.
Chelsea is absolutely wonderful! I highly recommend her as a doula. She was very prompt in her responses when were corresponding, often times replying immediately. She is also honest and very reliable. When I went into my very fast labor and delivery in the middle of the night, Chelsea met us at the hospital within the hour, and stayed after I breastfed my son for the first time (an hour after birth). She had helped me achieve this goal in giving me tips, which the hospitals don't always give with breastfeeding right away. She has a very professional work ethic and worked well with the hospital staff. I feel like I was able to achieve the natural birth that I wanted because Chelsea was there. She was a great coach during the labor process and knew when I was transitioning before the nurses did. Chelsea listens, she cares, and is there for you from the first meeting on. I hope you consider her as your doula. I'm so glad I did.
Halfway through our pregnancy we hadn’t even heard the word “doula.” As first time parents hoping for a natural delivery and after learning what doulas can bring to the delivery room, we started looking into hiring a doula to assist us with labor. We interviewed several different women, all still looking for their certification, and Chelsea significantly stood out. From our first interview she was incredibly professional and knowledgeable. She knew many of the questions we had before we even asked them and provided excellent answers to each. After hiring her, she came to our house for a sit down to get to know us a little better and to better understand exactly what we were looking for in terms of help during labor and postpartum. It is very evident that Chelsea takes great pride in her work, and we felt that we were in safe hands with her throughout the entire process.
Throughout our pregnancy, Chelsea was quick with a text or email whenever we had questions. This was vital in the final month of pregnancy and while laboring at home. When it was time to head to the hospital, Chelsea met us at midnight and walked into the Emergency Room with us. She was quick to provide coping techniques to help with back labor. When it came time to finally push, Chelsea offered encouragement and reassurance, never leaving our side. Once everything was settled, she politely excused herself so we could be a family of three for the first time. Our entire labor process was wonderful, and we worked well as a team. We were able to reminisce on our successful labor when Chelsea stopped by our home about a week after delivery to check in and answer anyother questions.
Chelsea will undoubtedly go far in this profession, and we are honored to be some of her first clients. We will be contacting her again in the future when we have another baby and will recommend her services to any friends or family seeking a doula in the future.
Chelsea is a great doula! Both my husband and I can attest to her abilities and knowledge. Her presence during the birth of our daughter was a tremendous help. This was our first pregnancy and we both wanted to have an experienced and encouraging coach to help us along the way. Chelsea was helpful in educating us in what to expect in the weeks leading up to the birth and the childbirth process itself. Chelsea was very professional and nurturing throughout the labor and delivery. She was quick to suggest laboring positions, ask questions and make suggestions that were in my best interest. Chelsea was a great cheerleader in moments where I thought I would not be able to deliver the baby. She is awesome and we recommend her highly. Thanks so much Chelsea!
We hired Chelsea as our doula for the birth of our son in May 2016. To say she was a key part to the success of his beautiful birth would be an understatement. My husband and I truly believe we would not have had the amazing birth experience that we did if Chelsea had not been there. She was incredibly calm, knowledgeable, and encouraging throughout every step of the process. My husband and I both felt that we instantly "clicked" with her when we met, which is why we chose to hire her. It was the best decision we could have made! Birth is such an intimate experience and we were honored to have Chelsea there to share in the experience with us! She is so passionate about being a doula and helping moms have the birth experience they want to have!
My labor was short but very intense and we chose to have our baby naturally, with no pain meds or intervention. I couldn't have done that without Chelsea! She worked very hard with each contraction to help bring relief to me by helping with various pain management techniques. She also brought such a calming, positive presence to the hospital room which made both my husband and me feel at ease about things. Knowing she was there to help advocate for us if needed and help with anything that might come up brought such peace of mind to us. Words cannot adequately express the gift that Chelsea has been to our family. We hope that we are able to have her as a doula and friend for the birth of any other children that we might have down the road!
