Rebecca is more like a family member to us than anything else. She started working with our family six years ago. She was our nanny for many years and still cares for my kids when we go out or during the summer. We have traveled with Rebecca as well.
One thing that has alwys struck me about Rebecca is her gentleness. She is a truely nuturing and gentle person, which is wonderful for my kids and also wonderful for me. She has supported our family through a number of transitions including the arrival of my youngest child. Rebecca is kind, thoughtful, reliable, and flexible. I trust her entirely. We have always felt lucky to have her in our lives.
My children adore Rebecca and always ask for more time with her. When my youngest was born, Rebecca took care of her full time from three months until she was seven months and I always felt so lucky. It is clear that Rebecca enjoys supporting families with older children, especially in times of transition. She is unusually compassionate and clearly integrates her knowledge of differing developmental ages.
We met Rebecca during our birthing class and immediately hit it off. When it came time to pick a doula, we were confident that we didn't need to look any further. She's kind, patient, calming and a true nurturer and was a joy to work with before, during, and after we brought our daughter into the world. We found her to be incredibly open-minded and flexible, ensuring that our wishes were honored but was also fantastic in helping us come up with our birth plan in areas where we felt helpless. She joined us in meeting with our midwife before our due date and by the time our delivery day came, we felt certain we had a dream team supporting us.
Rebecca was accessible immediately and through all hours of the night when we went into labor and was such a force for calm in the delivery room. She was well equipped with her bag of tricks and went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed. She even took some priceless photos for us.
After delivery, Rebecca stayed with us in the hospital until we were comfortable and we immensely enjoyed her home visits in the coming weeks, for more nurturing, including her famous black beans and secret oatmeal recipe.
We couldn't recommend Rebecca highly enough.
Rebecca was a magical addition to our birth team and home birthing experience. We absolutely positively recommend her as your loving doula!
I can't say enough about the loving and caring presence Rebecca brought us. She has been a true gift in our lives.
During prenatal visits, Rebecca thoughtfully and caringly asked questions that allowed my partner and I to consider aspects of birth and parenting that we had not previously thought about. She held a safe space to explore any fears or expectations and always brought information so we could learn along the way.
Rebecca let us guide how we wanted her involved in the birth experience. She supported all of us by ensuring everyone had enough to eat and drink. When my partner rested, Rebecca continued to provide hands on support in the form of loving touch and massage to ease the intensity of the surges. She coached me when I needed encouragement and celebrated the progress and different stages of labor. She was such a wonderful presence for all of us.
Once our daughter was born, Rebecca made us all a nourishing breakfast and helped our midwives clean up.
I looked forward to each postpartum visit from Rebecca. She held a safe space while I processed the birth experience and she lovingly cared for us as new parents with supportive information.
We love and adore Rebecca and she loved and adored us on our journey into parenthood.
My experience with Rebecca was amazing! From the start we didn't have an opportunity to meet beforehand since baby decided to arrive early, but she arrived just as soon as I let her know I was on my way to the hospital. It was not a short process since I was admitted with just slight contractions and my bags breaking. We passed time doing squats, walking and even dancing. She was with me every step of the way; if I was doing squats she was right next to me doing squats as well. When I was in active labor she was there motivating me to breathe and letting me know how great I was doing. She was continually going back and forth getting me water, helping me stay hydrated. Since I had told her about my decision to delay cord clamping she reminded me to let the doctors know when they came in to check up on my progress. I obviously wouldn't have remembered until after the baby would have arrived. I simply loved how helpful she was during the whole process! 21 hours later, my baby girl finally arrived, and Rebecca stayed to ensure I was well taken care of. Although my mother was with us the whole time, Rebecca's help was irreplaceable. I will definitely have Rebecca again when I decide to have baby #3.
