We partnered with Sandee for the birth of our 2nd child and we couldn't have been happier with her service, love and support. She was timely and met with us before and after the birth and stayed in close touch throughout the birthing day. During labor time, she was the perfect coach and we really leaned on all of her year's of experience and we were able to deliver a healthy baby naturally. She also took some really special birthing day photos that we will cherish forever (many shots of my husband's tears of joy!).

We interviewed multiple doula's and she was by far the most experienced and it really showed. We would give Sandee the highest of recommendations and know she can give whatever support mom and dad will need throughout the birthing process.

We love you, Sandee! Thank you so much.

I can't imagine having to go through pregnancy and especially labor without a Doula. Sandee was compassionate yet very knowledgable and knew exactly what to say or do to help me through our labor. As a first time mom, it was also incredibly helpful to have her as a resource during the entire pregnancy. She never made me feel silly for asking questions (and believe me, I asked plenty!) My husband was so thankful to have her there during our labor. He said it really helped him to know she was there as a calming presence when everything seemed so overwhelming. Our labor was intense, yet Sandee never seemed the least bit flustered. She helped us trust our instincts, labor naturally at home and at the hospital; she advocated for our wishes, and coached me as we birthed our baby girl; she stayed with us to help us start breastfeeding and get settled. Postpartum, she checked in on us frequently and was always available for advice. Sandee helped us process our birth afterwards and reminded us of details we likely would have forgotten! We both agree, we would have had a very different experience without her! I would highly recommend!

I knew I wanted Sandee to be at the birth of our daughter from the first time I met her. As a first time mom, I had no idea what to expect in the birthing process and wasn't convinced that our hospital class was enough to get me and my husband through labor and delivery. Right away, it was clear that Sandee was the person to guide us through the process. She has a natural warmth and sense of ease, and both my husband and I were immediately comfortable with her.

Sandee provided a lot of helpful information in our follow up meetings, gave advice when our baby was presenting breech, referred me to a great chiropractor and was helpful in letting us know what to expect as we considered and went through an external version procedure to turn the baby. But her presence and support during the actual labor and delivery was the most meaningful. She was there to make the room calm with dimmed lights and essential oils. She explained what the nurses and doctors were doing as they came and went. She gave advice as things progressed and different options were presented. It was really helpful to have her by my side so my husband could take a break during down time, and she took pictures throughout the process which were priceless to look back on. Sandee made me feel calm, and after our baby arrived, she was an advocate in asking the nurses to keep the baby on me longer while I breastfed. I can't say enough to express my gratitude for Sandee!

My experience with Sandee was nothing short of amazing. My husband and I knew very little about child birth, but we knew we wanted to have a natural birth for our first child. Sandee was very accommodating from the beginning and always made sure to meet our needs by coming out to our house for each initial visit. We loved talking with her and appreciated the amount of time she took in getting to know us personally, as I truly feel it helped us on our big day when it finally came. Sandee made herself available for the ENTIRE DAY as I was in labor, which took close to 36 hours total. She provided an array of techniques, both physical and mental while helping assist me through labor. My labor was long and painful, and often times, I felt very discouraged as to my lack of progress. Each time I felt this way, Sandee provided nothing but reassurance and genuine love. She assisted my husband in techniques that would help with the pain, and she helped me find my pain management through physical rhythms. Sandee helped make the atmosphere of the room much calmer with lights and oils. She encouraged me to move when I needed to, drink when I needed to, and eat when I needed to! There was a point near the end of my labor where I thought I really needed to tap out and just give up on having a natural birth. I screamed this to the crowd in my room, and Sandee just looked at me. She didn’t need to say anything, but her face and her calm demeanor helped remind me why I was where I was and the purpose. I felt like she was the one person in the room I could trust to get me through it. She captured several photos of the experience, which I didn’t know about until later, but I value SO MUCH today! Furthermore, she stayed by my side for about 3-4 more hours after delivery to ensure we were ok and settled. I cannot recommend having this woman by your side enough. Her presence will change everything.

I've been meaning to write this testimonial for a long time. Sandee assisted us in the birth of our first child, a planned home birth with a midwife, in September 2014. Sandee describes herself as a "birth junkie" and her love & passion for birth work show! She is friendly and fun to be with. She has wonderful confidence and a calming presence. I definitely needed that when I called on her during my very long first labor (approx 32 hours start to finish). She checked on me/husband/baby...we determined it was still very early labor...she reinforced we were doing well, which boosted our confidence, then left us to continue our laboring. We called on her again when things became more intense & we needed more support, she came promptly. Sandee, the midwife and the assistant midwife worked so well together. I distinctly remember how her encouragement & reassurance helped me at just the right times. Her trust in the birth process was evident in her calm demeanor, reassuring words, and hands on techniques; this helped me tremendously in the very moments when I was starting to doubt my abilities. Sandee was great with suggesting things to help the labor along & change the energy. I will never forget the moment she put her hands on my hips to apply counter pressure & instantly the back labor I was experiencing became more tolerable. Sandee (along with the rest of the birth team) coached me through each contraction & I truly couldn't have done it without her. We had some minor complications after the baby was born, and Sandee (along with the rest of the birth team) handled everything expertly; I never felt scared or in danger because they were so competent. I truly believe in the importance of doula support in birth, especially if it's your first birth or if your goal is to have an unmedicated birth (whether at home, birth center or hospital). And Sandee is one of the best! I can't recommend her highly enough!

Sandee was absolutely wonderful and necessary for me to have a natural birth at a hospital. She made me less anxious and more comfortable during our prenatal visits through her calm demeanor and common sense approach to labor and delivery. The fact that she has 6 children of her own made me feel like she knew what she was talking about. She made me feel that she was available and willing to help wherever I needed. The information she gave me regarding the first stage of labor and what my partner and I should do was extremely helpful, since this was our first birth. She met us at the hospital, took photos of us before, during, and after the birth. She helped me stay focused on my goals by asking me "Are you sure you want that?" when the nurse was going to start pitocin without asking me. She believes in women helping women during this very sensitive time and that's exactly what she did: fanned me when I was hot and nauseated, cooled my face with a cool washcloth when I was overheated from the shower, helped me with focusing on breathing, encouraged me to "let it out", helped me focus on contractions one by one, held my hand after the birth when I had a excruciating hematoma repaired, among countless other things. She helped my partner help me. We couldn't say enough great things about having a doula and particularly Sandee's style. Would highly recommend her to anyone. Worth every penny. Will definitely be in touch with her for future services.

We worked with Sandee to welcome our second child & I couldn't be happier with our experience. After meeting Sandee I immediately canceled the other doula interviews I had set up because I instantly felt a connection with her. I knew I wanted to find someone with experience who could be ready for anything. Sandee created such a calm and safe environment to ask any questions during our pregnancy and she genuinely wanted to get to know our family before the big day. When the moment arrived, Sandee was irreplaceable - helping with positioning, pain relief and providing encouragement to push through the hardest part. Sandee truly allowed us to experience the birth we had dreamed about & we are so happy that she was a part of our birth story.

I knew I wanted an experienced, motherly-presence in a doula. Sandee was the perfect fit. There is a level of mystery to every birth. When will it happen? How will it go? For me, planning a birth in a birth center there were a couple more unknowns: will I be able to give birth at the center or will I need to be transferred to the hospital? Which midwife will be on call when I go into labor? It seemed like our only known was the fact that Sandee would be with us, and this brought us great comfort. I can confidently say that I had a peaceful and pain-free labor experience at home and Sandee was a huge influence in making that possible. She knew exactly what I needed. I had a lot of pressure in my low back and Sandee was able to give the most amazing back massages that really helped ease the discomfort. She helped talk me through each contraction, which made them much more manageable. When things got intense, Sandee was there. When plans changed and we needed all hands on deck, Sandee was there. When my husband needed support and comforting, Sandee was there. We couldn't have done it without her and are forever grateful.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Sandee!  In the weeks and months leading up to my daughter's birth, she was an open ear and a knowledgeable source of info.  My labor was fast and hard, Sandee knew I needed things I didn't even know I needed.  A cool fan on my face, a calming voice when my anxiety got worked up.  She is amazing and I highly suggest using her for your next baby!!

Sandee was a great asset for our natural birth in the hospital. She constantly encouraged us and helped us feel comfortable with the labor process each step of the way. My husband and I agree that we could not have done it without her. All doulas are not created equal, do your research, it was such a blessing to have Sandee by our side.

Sandee was a wonderful support before, during and after the birth of my second son. During my prenatal visits, Sandee really helped me work through and let go of some anxiety and fear that I had been holding on to from my first son's delivery. Her presence and passion is calming and her energy brought me a great deal of peace. She is so positive about the birthing process and really sees giving birth as a natural and beautiful experience! Sandee was very personable and was easy to relate to during our conversations. After our first meeting I knew she was the right Doula for me and I had a sense of peace knowing she would be along side my husband and I during our delivery. The day of my delivery Sandee was available from the moment my water broke. Guiding me to listen to my body and to know when we needed to head to the hospital. During the delivery, Sandee was calm and she kept me focused on making every contraction effective as I pushed! Her motivation was exactly what my husband and I needed. An amazing support!! After delivery she cared for me as well as my husband. She would interact with the nurses and make sure I received the care I needed. She took a huge load off of us which allowed us to really relax and enjoy our brand new baby boy!!! We love Sandee and she will always be a special part of our family! Lord willing, I look forward to having her apart of baby #3!

I cannot say enough about Sandee and how wonderful she was to work with during my pregnancy and birth. Her years of experience, mixed with her calm, reassuring demeanor helped me trust and let go of worry during our home birth. My midwife lived over an hour from our house, so Sandee was the first to arrive. I'll never forget how she walked in and immediately started helping me arrange things for the birth, she made sure I was taking bites of toast, and when a contraction would start she would stop everything and rub my back, encouraging me that I was made to do this work. It was a tremendous blessing to have such a wise and gentle woman supporting me and my husband that day! If you are looking for a Doula who trusts birth, offers practical help, and intuitive support, Sandee is who you want!

Sandee was my doula for my third child (natural birth) and I cannot say enough great things about her! She instantly knew what I needed before I could even ask. She knew the exact things to say to me to encourage me throughout my labor, and my husband was also completely at ease with her. The three of us truly worked together as a team. She really helped me stay calm and centered yet in control through the entirety of my labor. Sandee is truly one of a kind and her presence made such a difference during my birth!

Sandee was like a best friends that I have known for many years. We instant clicked moment Montebello met and I knew she was the doula for our family.  She brought so much knowledge, love, and compassion to pregnancy and birth that made me feel confidant and comfortable. She went above and beyond what I ever imagined her call of duty would be. She was always quick to respond to my calls and texts and when I needed her she was available instantly. She has a special way of calming and making everything at peace during labor.  She stayed right by my side throughout the entire day and night, coaching, pampering and helping out our family.  I simply can't say enough about how truly sensational she was.
