Cat Sears

I can't say enough about how supportive Dorota is. She helped me recover from my unexpected Cesarean birth with our third child by being there for me in every way and on a moment's notice! She would come over, take the baby, do laundry, make dinner, do dishes, sweep, play with my older boys--she even went with me to the grocery store when I was having a hard day! She often helped me remember that my job was to REST postpartum. Our baby was in the NICU for 2 weeks, and so I wasn't used to resting, and she helped me to regain some of that postpartum magic quiet time I had been looking forward to. She was there for us from day one and came over after I was discharged from the hospital without the baby, which was so hard emotionally. After the baby got home, she would make me tea and tell me to lay down and nurse the baby, or read a book. It was hard to put my feet up after running back and forth to the NICU for the first two weeks, but she reminded me that I was first and foremost a new mom. She is also a wonderful listener and helped me process my birth experience. I consider her a great friend.
