We loved working with Amanda shortly after having our son. Amanda was knowledgeable and gentle with our son, helping us work through issues, like torticollis and feeding. Amanda would then make recommendations and help us implement them. As a first-time parent, it was hard to do my own research and figure out what was the best method for our family. Amanda was able to cut through that information and provide us with practical solutions. Additionally, Amanda would ensure that I received plenty of rest, whether that was helping with light household chores, preparing meals, or watching our son. I felt like I could comfortably leave my house to go to a doctor's appointment and know that my son was well taken care of.

Amanda is easy to communicate with. On her off days, when we had questions about our child, she would respond promptly via text. There were a few days when Amanda had to be out due to health reasons with her own family, but she always ensured we had backup care when needed. I would not hesitate to hire a postpartum doula again and would love to work with Amanda again.

I reached out to Amanda shortly after our second baby was born. It was the height of a covid outbreak, and a few other unforeseen challenges came our way. Amanda jumped right in and supported in ways we couldn’t have even asked or anticipated. She quickly became one of the most important parts of our community as we navigated our first few months as parents of two.

Amanda partnered with us in all of the challenges and puzzles that came up in those early months. We were so surprised how different our second baby was in her needs and personality, and Amanda helped us get to know how to best support her. She offered amazing early lactation support, especially for a little one with reflux. We were able to get great rest when Amanda was here in person, and she helped us learn (to swaddle, to burp and soothe, etc.), so we'd also get better and better rest when we were on our own, too. In those foggy newborn days, she kept track of important details that we might forget, which was such an invaluable form of support. As our baby got older, we kept meeting virtually a couple of times a week to talk through whatever puzzle we were currently wrestling with -- anything from a tricky night of sleep to planning for my first day back at work to creating a family plan/routine for getting household tasks accomplished.

She brought such a rich set of expertise and knowledge to our work together. We are so grateful for Amanda's brilliance, kindness, and support!

Amanda was fantastic helping my husband and I with our then three-month-old son. She helped us prepare for the transition to daycare and napping in a crib rather than on one of us, which felt like a monumental task! She helped us put together a plan to get him ready and it was a huge help, the transition to daycare went smoother than we could have imagined and he was taking two-hour naps in the first week. Amanda also helped us get a proper diagnosis and treatment for his reflux, which was causing a lot of distress for everyone but we'd written off as normal fussy baby stuff. It was really a game changer once we got him medication for his reflux. Generally I can't say enough good things about Amanda, she helped us both process some lingering anxieties from our son's birth and helped us start to enjoy new parenthood rather than just survive it.

Amanda was a very calming, assuring presence in a difficult time for us when we brought her on amid the covid pandemic in April 2020. Initially her service was zero-contact as both of our families distanced ourselves to stay safe, and it included regular video check-ins, nursing support, and meal preparation + delivery. As we got to know each other better we mutually agreed to transition to in-person visits, with strict protocols in place. Amanda was meticulous and professional.

We found her service to be invaluable in many ways. She listened and advised, she mediated between the two of us when we were too sleep-deprived to communicate with each other, she changed diapers and put the baby to sleep. She gave us the ability to nap when we had gotten no sleep the night before. She cooked, she cleaned, she folded laundry, she played with our older child. In moments of high anxiety related to postpartum healing and baby's developmental milestones, she was particularly understanding and able to guide us back to a calm space. We weren't sure what to expect when seeking doula support but she exceeded our hopes in every way.

It is difficult to put into words what Amand’a presence did for me and my family  after the birth of my second child. Her sessions of support each week were a desperately needed breath of fresh air. Amanda is a thoughtful and empathetic listener, which I found so helpful in coping with and processing the birth of my child. Amanda always has suggestions and resources to offer, when needed. I find one of her many strengths as a doula lies in her ability to offer the perfect balance of support - she knows when it is most helpful to offer space and independence for you, and when it is best to step in and be hands-on. Amanda kept our laundry and kitchen clean, did grocery runs, helped soothe my son so I could rest, and made sure I got showers and naps. What meant the most to me was her amazing cooking and her peer emotional support. I am still comforted by the thought of her help when I think about those early weeks. I would recommend Amanda’s postpartum doula support to anyone!

Amanda came into our home and proactively made sure every last thing was taken care of, and especially our baby and toddler. Her ability to balance detailed housework and childcare was an inspiring example! Amanda’s positive energy, compassion, and emotional intelligence helped me and my family get on our feet after adding a new baby into our lives. I enthusiastically recommend Amanda as a postpartum doula - she will meet you where you are at and help you on your journey!

I was absolutely terrified of child birth. I went into this upset that I had to do this and scared of all of the pain. I was particularly scared of tearing. I went through an extra long labor that was painful and intense (as most labor is) I also tore. After looking back on the day, one of the things that i remember most was the support team i had. Amanda was amazing to put it lightly. She seemed so comfortable with the situation it made me more comfortable she also complimented my efforts which made me feel stronger. She coached me through the pushing phase of labor and even though I tore I am looking back at that day as the best day of my life. I'm so thankful for Amanda and her skills during my labor and delivery. My husband and mother (the other part of my birth team) are also very impressed and appreciative of her services.

Amanda provided support and care for our family as we expected our second baby. She was thorough in understanding our needs from a doula and listened to our previous experiences. As we planned for our second home birth and navigated a few bumps in the road, it was extremely helpful to know that we had the emotional support and physical care from Amanda to help us prepare for a potential change in plans.

During labor and the birth of my son, it was important to me to have a doula that allowed me to listen to my body and offer quiet support, and Amanda was able to do just that. We also really appreciated her knowledge in helping me follow The Miles Circuit to help our baby be in an optimal position for his birth.

Amanda has truly found her niche as a doula, and we couldn't recommend her expertise and ability to care for new mothers and families enough!

We first started working with Amanda when our daughter was about 10 weeks old. I had unexpectedly thrown out my back and was in such a bad way that I wasn't able to even able to pick my baby up! We don't have any family nearby and our list of friends with daytime availability was wearing thin. Hiring a post-partum doula wasn't something that was on our radar and, to be honest, I was nervous about bringing in an 'expert'. As a new mom I had a lot of anxiety about whether I was doing things 'the right way' and was worried about being judged for our parenting style or for not being able to care for my baby with my injury. All of my fears dissolved within an hour of meeting Amanda. Her calm, confident, and caring presence was like finding a lighthouse in the fog and we all three benefitted enormously when she came into our lives. Dad learned methods to help soothe, bottle feed, and read the cues that our daughter was trying to tell us. Our daughter thrived in Amanda's care; she especially loved being worn in the baby wrap around the house and one of her first smiles was at Amanda's beautiful singing voice! I found relief in knowing that the household was taken care of while I recovered from my injury and when I came home from that first doctor's appointment (the first time I had ever left my daughter in someone else's care) to find that the baby was napping, the laundry was cycled and folded, the dishes done, and there was even a sandwich waiting for me on the counter (!) there was this tidal wave of relief that washed over me. Dad was happy and calm, the baby was happy and calm, and I was able to relax for the first time since giving birth. I'm only sorry that we didn't reach out for help sooner. Since then, Amanda has worked with us regularly over the intervening months, helping out for a half day once every other week, so that mom can get some respite. I can't recommend Amanda enough to anyone looking for extra support and loving care.

Amanda has been a postpartum doula for our 2 month old daughter on several occasions since Karuna was born. Amanda is fantastic. She is gentle, soothing, intuitive, and trustworthy. I wish I could employ her every day! She gives 100% of her focus to the baby, and is very receptive to the individual needs of the families she serves. When Karuna was sleeping, Amanda helped with housework and laundry, and even made me lunch when I was hungry! That might seem like a small thing, but when you are a new mother pressed for time, having someone make your lunch is actually priceless! On an emotional level, Amanda is also excellent. She met me when I was just adjusting to being a stay at home mom to a newborn, and I was having a really hard time. Amanda was non-judgmental, totally supportive, and helpful in her advice and presence. I would recommend her hands down, every time. You and your children will be well taken care of!

Amanda worked with our family for two months - starting the first day we came home from the hospital when my son was only 2 days old. She helped us with the transition from 1 toddler to 2 kids under two yrs old. Starting at 5 days a week and slowly transitioning to two days a week when we needed less help. Amanda helped us create a great start for our son and enabled me to get the rest I needed to be a better mom to both kids.

Amanda is a thoughtful caregiver and great resource for moms. She has a genuine love for babies and kids, and has a tremendous amount of knowledge about the newborn stage. Even as a second time mom (who breastfed my daughter for over a year), I found her breastfeeding tips super helpful with our newborn son. I highly recommend Amanda as a doula and think she is a real gem.
