I worked with Janiece both as a postpartum doula and birth doula. Initially we arranged to work with Janiece in a postpartum support capacity, but she was so lovely and relaxed that I knew I wanted to work with her in a birth doula support capacity as well. I was so glad I did! She was exactly the kind of support I needed during and after our third son's arrival. It was an incredibly fast birth and our sweet baby decided to come minutes before our midwives arrived. Janiece was absolutely calm emotional support for both me and my husband in that very unexpected experience. I was a bit shocked by how quickly the experience went and Janiece stayed until I was more settled. Every birth is so different and we are so happy Janiece was with us for the whirlwind that was baby #3's arrival!

Janiece continued on as our postpartum support and was amazing in that role as well. She integrated seemlessly with our family. She looked for things that needed to be done and did them. Among other things she looked after my other two children, cooked, tidied, brought me food and did laundry. She held the baby while I took showers. She listened. She encouraged. She understood.

I'm not exactly sure how to put my experiece working with Janiece into words. She is simply one of the lovliest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. She is exactly the kind of person I needed at my side through these experiences. She is kind and calm, quick to listen and laugh. She is great with children and babies alike. (And always on time!)

I do not hesitate to recommend Janiece. She is wonderful and any family would be truly blessed to work with and get to know her. :) I've worked with quite a few postpartum doulas. She is quite possible my favorite!

It was 4 weeks to our due date when my husband and I made the decision to welcome a doula in on our birthing experience.  After a thorough search, we found Janiece and I'm so incredibly lucky we did!  She was quick to respond and find times to meet before we gave birth.  I'm a FTM and was always very flexible in my thoughts and preferences around the birthing process, however Janiece was able to help my husband and I discuss and find things that ultimately did really matter to us and wanted to make sure we experienced when the day came.

The day came at my 39w OB appointment when I was told I would have to be induced.  While I was familiar enough with my options of and through the induction process, I was not prepared for labor to take on a mind of its own.  We called Janiece at 1:30AM because I was in so much pain from the water balloon.  She came right away and encouraged me to try out different positions to help set a rhythm.  After the balloon came out, Janiece stayed with my husband and I for the next 12 hours, encouraging rest but also movement (she also made coffee runs for my husband!).  The medical team decided to break my water and start me on pitocin which, after awhile, led me to the most intense labor.  Janiece coached my husband to help me keep a breathing rhythm, introduced a TENS unit to also help me through the intensity, and drew a beautiful bath toward the end of my natural laboring.  At 24 hours of labor, I made the decision to opt for an epidural, to which Janiece and my husband fully supported me on.  From then until the birth, Janiece was there to help keep my body rocking and moving while in bed and was an extra pair of hands in getting me ice chips/water, as well as helping me through the pushing process.  She was also the one to capture our beautiful baby girl being brought into the world!

We are so thankful to have found Janiece!

I had really wanted a natural birth at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland. Janiece, my husband and I met several times leading up to the birth and she reached out to me during the final weeks when i was in early labor. She brought over a birth ball and had different coping techniques for me to help with contractions. When my water broke she was very responsive and offered to meet us at home or at the hospital. She brought soft wash cloths, stress balls and made sure i was comfortable during the entire labor. I was in labor for 17 and a half hours and went from 4cm to 10cm in 37 minutes, so needless to say it was very intense towards the end. She was gentle with me but also got serious when i needed someone to help me get focused again. I feel that Janiece was the determining factor in me being able to have an epidural free birth. She made sure to follow up after the birth and has great knowledge of breastfeeding. I recommend her to anyone and everyone looking for a doula!
