The moment I met Jesse, I was immediately struck by the warmth and compassion she exudes. In our consultation she not only talked about her perspective and qualifications as a doula, but also took the time to really get to know me as a person, what I wanted and needed from a doula, and what my fears and hopes were for my birth. Jesse also went into detail about specific strategies she would use in labor in my pursuit of a VBAC, demonstrating that not only is she emotionally apt, but also highly qualified in the physical aspect of what she does. That combined with her lovely personality made me feel confident in choosing her to assist my birth.

During active labor, Jesse beyond exceeded our expectations. She had a strong intuition about what my body needed and when, clearly developed over her training as a doula and massage therapist, but what is also an obvious innnate talent. She pushed me to try strategies outside of my comfort zone as well as respected my limitations and needs. She was a source of both comfort and strength, helping me work through every contraction, repositioning me to get my sunny-side-up baby to spin, making sure I was hydrated, involving my partner, massaging and applying gentle touch, and so much more. She stayed with us throughout my labor that lasted the span of two days, an unwavering touchstone. My daughter was successfully born by VBAC, and Jesse was indispensible in that success.

After birth, Jesse stayed with us for longer than an hour to make sure we were settled, and then arranged to get us food from our favorite restaurant to feed the ravenous post-labor hunger. She absolutely went the extra mile for us in every way. Jesse was also willing to work with my husband and me on price. She believes all people should have access to a birth doula, and it is so deeply appreciated.

I wholeheartedly recommend Jesse to any laboring mother and couple. Her dedication and care just make my heart burst with gratitude.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Jesse. After a free appointment to get to meet each other and ask some questions, we had two prenatal meetings with her at our house. She helped us in many ways, from getting ready emotionally and psychologically to helping us pack our labor bags. Thanks to Jesse’s help we felt very comfortable laboring at home for the first hours, and she joined us at the hospital shortly after we had been accompanied to the delivery room. I had never been so happy to see anyone because the nurse assigned to the room was giving us a hard time, but when I saw Jesse come in with a reassuring smile on her face, I took a big sigh of relief and knew that everything was going to be ok. She supported me (and my husband) in a discreet and reassuring way, explained briefly and effectively one procedure that was offered that I didn't know about, and was always by my side during the pushing phase and immediately afterwards (while also managing to take the first precious shots of us and our baby). She stayed with us for a couple of hours postpartum to make sure we were ok, and came to see us about a week after delivery. She radiates positive energy and her warm and loving presence definitely changed my birthing experience. She is incredibly knowledgeable and educated us about what to expect at the hospital and in the first days and weeks postpartum, both in person and by pointing out online and print resources. I believe that she is able to connect with everyone in such a way that allows her to give that person exactly what they need in a specific moment; I coulndt recommend her services more!

Jesse is a fantastic doula. She is a kind and caring person, and was always ready to support me and my husband. When we met her, we immediately felt at ease. During the weeks before our birth she lent us some helpful videos for techniques to be better prepared for what lay ahead. When things didn't go as planned (do they ever?), it was a huge comfort to have Jesse by our side. She has great bodywork skills, and a patient, calm manner. She was intuitive during the birth process, and helped the nurses and midwives to figure out what was needed. Jesse went above and beyond for us, attending to little things that we would not have thought of. I recommend her very highly!

My husband and I used Jesse as a birth and postpartum doula. From the start, she was friendly, helpful, outgoing and supportive. I felt comfortable talking to her in the interview. Since this was our first child, I didn't know exactly what I needed. Jesse was always looking for and finding ways to be helpful to us. She respected my decision to have her come early once I started having contractions. The hospital staff wanted to send me home because I wasn't beginning to dilate yet, but I knew it was time. 30 minutes later, they decided I was in active labor at 4 centimeters and admitted me. I had very painful contractions from the start of labor. Additionally, I had decided to avoid all pain medication. Jesse helped me cope and everything felt so much better once she arrived. My husband means well, but he has a difficult time being comforting and sympathetic. The labor nurses and midwives were in and out during my labor and having Jesse there the entire time made the difficult labor tolerable. Elon was born 8 hours after arriving at the hospital. Jesse stayed with us and helped us settle into postpartum care.

Jesse also helped me with chores and child care once I left the hospital. My husband got a new job right before the birth, so he wasn't able to take any time off after the hospital. I would have been lost without Jesse's help. I wasn't sure how much help I would need, but Jesse was very accommodating. In addition to superb postpartum doula help, she is a skilled masseuse and body worker. I had many aches and pains from the labor and the many hours spent in bed nursing. A massage was the perfect way to loosen up.

We want to thank Jesse for all her planning, hard work and helpful advice. She consistantly found ways to help us out and was a true friend through a difficult but rewarding time.
