Post a testimonial for Tasha Hall

Hiring Tasha as our post-partum doula was one of the best decisions we made. As new parents, we didn't know what to expect — and Tasha helped us prepare every step of the way. She sat down with us before the baby came to talk us through our expectations and concerns. She is a great listener with gentle guidance, which is exactly what I needed during the last stages of my pregnancy and, once the baby came, my first few months postpartum. Tasha is highly experienced and well-trained, which makes working with her so helpful. Many people enter your home during the post-partum period, and it's a special person who is as helpful as Tasha. Her presence in our home was calming, and she was always open to help with anything we needed. I distinctly remember Tasha helping us in those hazy first weeks with cooking and light cleaning, and -- most importantly -- she was a valuable resource to help me navigate new things like figuring out how to use the Haakaa, baby carrying, and how to set up a bouncer. If I needed a shower or some rest, Tasha was a trusted caregiver to hold my baby. I don't know how we would have done it without her. I recommend her to everyone I know who's expecting a new baby.

As a first time mother with no family in the area, the weeks after my son was born were overwhelming for both me and my husband (who had to go back to work fairly quickly). I was also dealing with some postpartum complications that made everything... harder. Although I wasn't sure what it would be like having someone I barely knew in the house during such a vulnerable, challenging and intimate time, it took only a moment to recognize how invaluable Tasha's quiet support, confidence and wisdom would be for my family. Though much of that time is a blur, I recall how safe I felt taking some time for myself (to shower, eat a meal in relative quiet) while Tasha held my son, walked him around the house, bounced and cradled him in a way that calmed him, and me. She also listened and offered her thoughts/experience/expertise about the new world of newborns, from breastfeeding to sleep. She completely understands how the seemingly banal offer to pick-up groceries or execute a recipe for milk-producing cookies (which seemed a daunting task for me just a couple of weeks postpartum) is actually a huge help. Though our time together was brief, I've known Tasha since, and cannot adequately speak to how kind, thoughtful, understanding and simply, sincerely supportive of motherhood Tasha is. She is a natural and skilled helper, healer and nurturer of both women and children. It was a gift to have her support and I'm now hoping to give that gift to friends who are expecting.

Having Tasha as my postpartum doula was a wonderful gift for myself, my baby, my husband, and my other children. Her presence gave me the time to take care of my own recovery and her help around the house gave my husband more time to bond with me and the baby instead of catching up on housework. Tasha has been my doula twice and I would never want to have a baby without her as my postpartum doula again. She is warm and easy going and my family and I loved having her around in those special, early days.
