I am so glad to have had Jessica as my doula for the birth of my son Henry! I wanted to experience childbirth without pain medication and I knew having a doula by my side was an important part of that decision. Jessica is extremely knowledgeable, professional, patient, and kind. My husband and I met with Jessica twice before Henry’s birth. She provided a lot of useful information and responded to our questions thoughtfully. She helped us formulate our birth plan and to feel as prepared as we could for the birth. Throughout the process, I appreciated that, rather than telling us what we should do, she explained the pros and cons of various decisions. I started having regular contractions at 5AM and Jessica texted with me until we met her at the hospital at 9AM. Having Jessica involved helped me to feel comfortable laboring at home longer than I would have otherwise.
At the hospital, Jessica worked extremely well with the nurses and with my OB/GYN. When it came time to make decisions about things—like whether to have my water broken—she helped me ask questions of the nurses and of my doctor, which helped me feel a bit more in control of what was going on. While I was in labor she reminded me to breathe and suggested different positions. I was able to have the birth I always wanted and I couldn’t have done it without her.

I truly cannot imagine my birth experience without Jessica Sebok as my doula. After already creating a great birth plan with her, things took an unexpected turn for the worst when I developed severe preeclampsia and was hospitalized at 29 weeks. I had a very hard fight to make it to 32 weeks, when I was induced. After 54 hard hours of labor, my birth ended in a c-section that nearly cost me my life. Jessica provided endless knowledge, comfort, and support throughout the entire journey. It was hard to overthink about how dire things were with her in the room. Jessica presence alone is radiant and calming; her wealth of understanding about the female body, birth process, and breastfeeding make her the ultimate partner to have present when bringing a new life into this world. I will recommend Jessica to every single pregnant and breastfeeding friend I have, for the rest of my life. My husband and I will always be grateful forJessica’s role in the birth of our sweet daughter, and for her assistance in getting us to successfully breastfeed after bottle feeding for 8 weeks! It truly doesn’t get better than Jessica—and if you are on the fence about getting a doula, JUST DO IT! Doulas fill in all of the gaps that healthcare and family cannot!

Jessica is an amazing resource to have during pregnancy and postpartum. This being my first baby I really didn't know what to expect leading up to labor and delivery, she was always there to answer all my questions. We had the pleasure of having her in the hospital and home with us the first week and a half of our daughter's life. Her passion, kindness and knowledge were invaluable when it came to newborn care as well as helping me to establish a great Breastfeeding relationship. At our home, she helped my husband and I get as much sleep as possible while we adjusted to our new normal; as well as helping with any house chores. When we were exhausted or frustrated she was there to encourage us. We credit much of the smooth transition to parenthood to her help. 7 months later, I still call upon her for any breastfeeding advice, troubleshooting or support. She is an absolute pleasure and would highly recommend.

Jess was my doula for my second pregnancy. With my first pregnancy I did not have a doula and the entire experience was difficult and scary for me. Jess did an amazing job of informing me of what was happening to my body during the pregnancy, during the labor and delivery, and post-partum. She has such an uplifting attitude and is an absolute joy to be around. I always looked forward to when we would meet to talk about my birth plan. During my labor and delivery she was very helpful but also very consciencious of how my husband was feeling. She would check in intermittently to see if he wanted to be more or less involved in the process. After our son was born, Jess stayed at our house for a week, doing laundry, helping me with late night feedings, and cooking. This second pregnancy was so different from my first and I definitely would attribute that to having Jess as a doula. She allowed me to relax and enjoy every moment with our newborn son.
